Wymondham /ˈwɪndəm/ is a historic market town and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It lies 9.5 miles (15 km) to the south west of the city of Norwich, just off the A11 road from Norwich to London which now by-passes the town. The parish includes large rural areas to the north and south of the town itself. It is the fourth largest civil parish in Norfolk.

The earthworks of what was probably a large, medieval ringwork survive to some considerable height; they have been subject to ground survey and are partially visible on aerial photographs. The ringwork, which is located in an isolated part of the Stanfield estate, is thought by some to have been built by the D'Albinis between 1088 and 1139. The feature measures approximately 150m by 130m, with a large bank and water-filled ditch; the internal area also appears to be filled with irregular water-filled pits or ponds. It is thought that a gold ring of Katherine Bigot, wife of Roger Fitz-Ortet who held Stanfield Manor in AD 1306, was also recovered from this area.
Wymondham College is a coeducational secondary school with academy status in Wymondham, Norfolk, England. A former grammar school, it is one of 36 state boarding schools in England and the largest of its type in the country, with up to 700 boarding places. Although boarders do not pay for their education in the same way as at an independent school, they are still required to pay for the costs of living at the school (£10,000) whereas day pupils attend the school for free. It has specialisms in technology (maths, science, ICT & Design Technology) and in modern languages. It is one of the highest performing state schools in England and Wales. In 2015 it was the top performing state school in East Anglia.
The School is built on the site of the Second World War USAAF 231st Station Hospital, and when the school first opened in 1951 the hospital's forty Nissen huts were used as classrooms and dormitories. It was established by Lincoln Ralphs, the chief education officer of Norfolk County Council. Brick-built accommodation began to appear in the late 1950s, but Nissen huts remained in use, principally for classrooms and storage, through to end of the 1990s. The only Nissen hut now remaining is the College chapel. A memorial garden has been created on the site of the former USAAF mortuary, which for many years was used as the school's technical drawing classroom.
The Market Town of Wymondham in Norfolk, like a lot of other towns and villages around Christmas, holds it's annual fayre. The first Thursday in December sees hundreds of people come to see Santa arrive to spread seasonal joy, and also sample chocolates, mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine dished out by the local businesses in the spirit of Christmas!

'Two Idiots Abroad' is a compilation of outtakes and bloopers from Lee Blanchflower & Phil Shaw, the two guys behind Blanc Creative Digital Image Agency. In October 2014, the pair ventured out into 'Real' Marrakech to film a documentary about surviving Morocco in the city famed for hating photographers. Over five days of walking suburban neighbourhoods, witnessing beatings, drug deals and having equipment stolen, Lee and Phil had 14 hours of footage and hundreds of still images. A series of videos documenting the trip along with a survival guide to be the scam artists will be released week by week throughout February 2015 on the Blanc Creative Blog Page http://www.blanc-creative.com/blog/
Danielle's Day Trip into Wellington to book her flights from Wellington, New Zealand to Orlando, America for LeakyCon 2011. With a bonus short trip down the Wellington Waterfront to Te Papa Museum. This was my first shot at editing and exporting from Windows Movie Maker. it's crude due to my lack of experience with video and the pragram, but seems to have worked ok. For whatever reason the quality was lost somewhat and is quite fuzzy. not sure why. Let me know what you think! Also, post in the comments any locations or events you want to see and I'll go visit them and record it for you (money and travel allowing). A vanished scene from Brirtish Rail days 25 or so years ago. On an early summer day, diesel locomotive 37040 brings the mixed freight from North Elmham and Dereham into Wymondham, stopping outside the signalbox for Driver Jack Spall to return the single line token/branch train staff to the signalman. Note the Guard riding in the brakevan. The train shunts back into the down sidings and deposits the brakevan, before moving out onto the main line and setting back ready to move into the up sidings. Later, having left the Dereham wagons in the up sidings and collected some cement tanks, and then returned to the down sidings to reattach the brakevan, the loco powers out of the yard and away through the station towards Norwich, leaving a trail of exhaust fumes. The video also includes brief shot...

SEE MY TRAVEL PAGE ON FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/motorhomefulltime A visit to the beautiful market town of Wymondham in Norfolk on a wonderfully sunny day in early March 2011. Wymondham's most famous inhabitant was Robert Kett (or Ket), who led a rebellion in 1549 of peasants and small farmers in protest at the enclosure of common land. He took a force of almost unarmed men and fought for and held the City of Norwich for six weeks until defeated by the King's forces. He was hanged from Norwich Castle. Kett's Oak, said to be the rallying point for the rebellion, can still be seen today on the B1172 road between Wymondham and Hetherset, part of the former main road to London. I make references to fires in all of my walks around medieval towns as they date from the time of the las...
