New Jersey Institute of Technology, also known as NJIT, is a public research university located in the University Heights neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey, United States. NJIT is New Jersey's science and technology university. Centrally located in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area, NJIT's campus is within walking distance of downtown Newark. New York City, 8 miles (12.9 km) away, is readily accessible via the Newark City Subway and the PATH rapid transit system.
Founded in 1881 with the support of a cadre of Newark's 19th century industrialists and inventors, including Edward Weston (334 US Patents), NJIT opened as Newark Technical School in 1884 with 88 students. Today (fall 2011) the university has 9,558 students of whom more than 1,450 live in one of the school's four dormitories. It is now home to five colleges and one school: Newark College of Engineering; the College of Architecture and Design; the School of Management; the Albert Dorman Honors College; the College of Science and Liberal Arts; and the College of Computing Sciences. Increasingly a residential university, NJIT recently broke ground on the Warren Street Village, a mixed-use, 3-acre (1.2 ha) project that will provide on-campus housing for an additional 600 students in 2013 including 360 Honors College students.
New Jersey (i/nuː ˈdʒɜrzi/) is a state in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by the U.S. state of New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware. New Jersey is the 4th least extensive, but the 11th most populous and the most densely populated of the 50 United States. New Jersey lies mostly within the sprawling metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia. It is also the third wealthiest by 2009–2010 median household income.
The area was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 17th century, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The British later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey. It was granted as a colony to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton. At this time, it was named after the largest of the British Channel Islands, Jersey, Carteret's birthplace. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War.
Jersey, officially the Bailiwick of Jersey, French: Bailliage de Jersey ( /ˈdʒɜrzi/, French: [ʒɛʁzɛ]; Jèrriais: Jèrri), is a British Crown Dependency off the coast of Normandy, France. As well as the island of Jersey itself, the bailiwick includes two groups of small islands that are no longer permanently inhabited, the Minquiers and Écréhous, and the Pierres de Lecq and other rocks and reefs.
Jersey is a self-governing parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy, with its own financial, legal and judicial systems.
The island of Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands. Although the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey are often referred to collectively as 'the Channel Islands', they are not a constitutional or political unit. Jersey has a separate relationship to the British Crown from the other Crown Dependencies of Guernsey and the Isle of Man. It is not part of the United Kingdom, and has an international identity separate from that of the UK but the United Kingdom is constitutionally responsible for the defence of Jersey. Jersey is not a part of the European Union but has a special relationship with it, being treated as part of the European Community for the purposes of free trade in goods.

Well how
You heard
All the people clapping their hands
And how
You've seen
All the castles made in the sand
Oh oh,
uh oh,
uh oh woah
And how
You hope
We've all got something to announce
Well it's true
Yeah it's true
They're all waiting at your command
Yeah you know
Well we all just wanna go home
Today so grand
'Cos it's you and me against the new technology
And I've seen
The band
Marching on through the land
Well it's sweet
You care
But it's not enough you're aware
Oh oh,
uh oh,
uh oh woah
Well I know
It's true
The clock is ticking for you
Yeah you know
Well we all just wanna go home
Today so grand
'Cos it's you and me against the new technology
