Covered in a tarp, the train involved in last week's crash at the Hoboken Terminal was pulled from the station and headed toward NJ Transit's maintenance facility for further inspection.
Hoboken Terminal built in 1907 by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad is a Beaux Arts Palace of Transportation with a main waiting room featuring vaulted ceilings, wooden benches, grand staircase, chandeliers, ornate metalwork, and a 2,000 square foot stained glass Tiffany skylight.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, NJT4218 brought me up to Hoboken Terninal since he was there the week before and saw a ton of action. Boy was he right, Hoboken Terminal really is the one of busiest NJT stations (Secaucus and New York do beat it in traffic.) During our day's stay, I was able to catch some great action, and accomplished a mission I went in with, to catch one of two CNJ Geeps left in service, 4101. This was a great day and I hope to do it again soon. Don't forget to Comment, Like, and Subscribe!!!

This is a long unedited (as filmed) video of the morning arrivals into Hoboken on July 30, 1990. I was not selective in what I filmed. All train movements within my sight were documented. When multiple movements presented themselves, U34CHs had priority, as they were the most endangered at the time. If I remember correctly, I caught the first Port Jervis Line train down to Hoboken and filmed until my RCA VHS Camcorder batteries died. The camera was on loan to me from my girlfriend's father. To make the most of this camera loan, I took a train back home, charged the batteries, and shot the Hudson Line latter that afternoon. I finished the day back on the Graham Line with a westbound Port Jervis train a few miles west of Salisbury Mills station. My apologies for lack of tripod and sporadic...

Rail service into the Hoboken Terminal has resumed after a fatal train crash killed a woman on the platform last week. But only eight of the seventeen tracks at the New Jersey transit station are running. The busy station is a key hub for commuters heading into New York City from the surrounding communities. Back on Sept. 29th, a train careened into the station, crashing against a barricade before jumping off the tracks and onto the platform. The station suffered damage to supporting columns as a result, leading to a partial collapse of the roof. The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigation what led the train to speed into the station prior to the crash. http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/386c25518f464186bf7a2ac026580ce7/Article_2016-10-07-US--Train%20Hits%20Station/id-f8df...
The New Jersey Transit Commuter train that crashed into Hoboken's terminal last week has been removed from the station. The crash caused the death of one woman waiting on the platform and injured more than 100 people. The train will now undergo further examination offsite. Investigators released information on Thursday that was gained from a forward-facing camera at the front of the train and a data recorder. A final report on what caused the crash is still incomplete and could take over a year. http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/386c25518f464186bf7a2ac026580ce7/Article_2016-10-07-US--Train%20Hits%20Station/id-93e3225d12704991aa0503a179ba9c9c http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
