Part 4 of my Video tutorial on how to build the Cunard Liner RMS Queen Elizabeth in Minecraft Part 4 Sees the construction of the second section of the ships superstructure Part 5 will focus on the third section of the ships superstructure RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line. With her running mate Queen Mary she provided luxury liner service between Southampton, the United Kingdom, and New York City, the United States, via Cherbourg, France. She was also contracted for over twenty years to carry the Royal Mail as the second half of the two ships' weekly express service. While being constructed in the mid-1930s by John Brown and Company at Clydebank, Scotland, she was known as Hull 552 but when launched, on 27 September 1938, she was named in honour of Queen Elizabeth, who was then Queen Consort to King George VI and in 1952 became the Queen Mother. With a design that improved upon that of Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth was a slightly larger ship, the largest passenger liner ever built at that time and for fifty-six years thereafter. She also has the distinction of being the largest-ever riveted ship by gross tonnage. She first entered service in February 1940 as a troopship in World War II, and it was not until October 1946 that she served in her intended role as an ocean liner. I was able to go into an area of the engine room which is usually off limits, but the someone forgot to lock the gate and I took advantage of that. See my footage of which some you will not see on other videos. :-)
RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed primarily on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line (known as Cunard-White Star Line when the vessel entered service). Built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland, Queen Mary along with her running mate, the RMS Queen Elizabeth, were built as part of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service between Southampton, Cherbourg, and New York City. The two ships were a British response to the superliners built by German and French companies in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Queen Mary was the flagship of the Cunard Line from May 1936 until October 1946 when she was replaced in that role by Queen Elizabeth.
Following the war Queen Mary was refitted for passenger service and along with Queen Elizabeth commenced the two-ship transatlantic passenger service for which the two ships were initially built. The two ships dominated the transatlantic passenger transportation market until the dawn of the jet age in the late 1950s. By the mid-1960s, Queen Mary was ageing and, though still among the most popular transatlantic liners, was operating at a loss.
After several years of decreased profits for Cunard Line, Queen Mary was officially retired from service in 1967. She left Southampton for the last time on 31 October 1967 and sailed to the port of Long Beach, California, United States, where she remains permanently moored. Much of the machinery, including one of the two engine rooms, three of the four propellers, and all of the boilers, were removed. The ship serves as a tourist attraction featuring restaurants, a museum, and a hotel. The ship is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has accepted the Queen Mary as part of the Historic Hotels of America.

Three cruise ships all belonging to Carnival UK were docked in Southampton on Friday 27th April 2012. P&O; Cruises' M/S "Arcadia" was moored in Berth 106/The 'Mayflower' Terminal whilst Cunard Liners RMS "Queen Mary 2" and "Queen Elizabeth" were in Berths 101/The 'City' Terminal and 46/The 'Ocean' Terminal respectively. Originally scheduled to depart at 16:30, all three ships departed late. "Queen Elizabeth" was the first to set sail from the 'Ocean' Terminal departing roughly around 5-10 mins late. She was followed shortly afterwards by "Arcadia" running about 15 mins late and exchanged horn blasts with "Queen Mary 2" with Red Funnel's "Red Falcon" joining in as well as she departed for Cowes. I've tried to make this in a type of movie style video. Please note there is "no" music during the sinking. I thought it would give you the viewer the opportunity play a music of your choice, during the sinking as there are a few sinking/ship related songs.
I was fortunate to only need one torpedo to sink the ship (usually requires 2 minimum) as I could focus on the ship the entire time.
This is a HD video with a enjoyable watching experience. This video was captured in Silent Hunter V in one of my personally created missions.
The captured video does not show all Silent Hunter V's original content/features. There were several mods involved in this video, Most are available on Subsim.com. Any questions?

But for entertainment purposes only any similarities are completely coincidental. Should you like to know the mods I have used please feel free to ask in the comments. 34:20 mins: hydrophones picks up convoy of something big and deadly inbound but out of sight!
38:25 mins: Bridge compromised/under
40:50 mins Queen Mary confirmed sunk (main)
42:10 mins Dives to escape and evade the area (main/recommended)
57:15 mins an old favourite
Celebrations begin (main)
1:00:35 hrs tune 1 (mod default)

download both: SM12.misge and SM12.tsr
make a new folder in "SingleMissions" name it SM and the number after the largest number you have in the folder eg u had up to SM11 so name SM12
add both downloaded files to: Silent Hunter 5\data\SingleMissions
Tips
start game, menu Historical missions and enjoy. Simple go straight ahead to find HMS Queen Mary, directly to the East of Queen Mary's location are some other slightly smaller liners and cargo ships. Directly to the West of Queen Mary's location you will find several cruisers and battleships.
My first mission made using editor so I created a testing ground of more rare ships in game campaign to just target practice and play around with something other then cargo vessels :D feel free to edit the mission and use how you so wish (it's not protected by anything therefore you can alter it how you like)...
Just to add you don't have to worry about editing the file names of SM12.misge and SM12.tsr as they will work regardless of folder name. I called them SM12 so I would know what personal file they were going to you can of course change the names via the editor.
I can confirm it will certainly work with version 1.2.0 without any editing of the file.

Three cruise ships all belonging to Carnival UK were docked in Southampton on Friday 27th April 2012.
P&O; Cruises' M/S "Arcadia" was moored in Berth 106/The 'Mayflower' Terminal whilst Cunard Liners RMS "Queen Mary 2" and "Queen Elizabeth" were in Berths 101/The 'City' Terminal and 46/The 'Ocean' Terminal respectively.
Originally scheduled to depart at 16:30, all three ships departed late. "Queen Elizabeth" was the first to set sail from the 'Ocean' Terminal departing roughly around 5-10 mins late. She was followed shortly afterwards by "Arcadia" running about 15 mins late and exchanged horn blasts with "Queen Mary 2" with Red Funnel's "Red Falcon" joining in as well as she departed for Cowes. Finally, "Queen Mary 2" got underway almost an hour late before following the other two ships down the Test to the Solent and then heading off to New York.

► HMS Curacoa (D41) ◄
HMS Curacoa, named after the island Curaçao in the Caribbean Sea, was a Ceres group C-class light cruiser. In 1942, she became one of the Royal Navy's major accidental losses during the Second World War.
► Collision
On 2 October 1942 about 60 km north of the coast of Ireland she was escorting the ocean liner RMS " Queen Mary " carrying 20,000 American troops of the 29th Infantry Division to join the Allied forces in Europe.
" Queen Mary " was steaming an evasive zig-zagging course. At 2:15 PM the " Queen Mary " started the starboard turn for the first leg of her zig-zag, cutting across the path of the " Curacoa " with insufficient clearance, striking her amidships at a speed of 28 knots and cutting her in two. The " Curacoa " sank in six minutes, about 100 yards from the " Queen Mary ". Acting under orders not to stop due to the risk of U-boat attacks, the " Queen Mary " did not assist in rescue operations and instead steamed onward with a damaged bow. Hours later, the convoy's lead escort, consisting of HMS " Bramham " and one other ship, returned to rescue 99 survivors from the Curacoa's crew of 338, including her captain, John Wilfred Boutwood. According to the HMS " Curacoa Roll of Honour ", 102 men were rescued from the " Curacoa ", 338 were lost. A number of graves of men of the Curacoa can be found at Lower Breakish in Skye, Arisaig and Morar.
