UGC's recent amendment relaxing the eligibility norms for selection process of assistant professor posts may hamper MPPSC examination scheduled for filling 2,400 vacancies in the state ... However, the selection process was cancelled in September last year after the UGC made NET qualification mandatory for candidates who had obtained or registered for PhD degrees....

New Delhi, Apr 18 () A committee constituted by the HRD ministry to prescribe modalities for Yoga education in universities has suggested that UGC should provide grants of Rs 10 crore to institutions for starting new departments of Yogic Art and Science ... A sub-committee of UGC will work on texts on the subject which will form the basis of these courses....
