Luanda — Trade between Angola and Russia reached USD 244 million in 2015, four times more than the amount yield in the previous period.
This was said Friday in Luanda by the Russian minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, Serguei Donskoi.
Donskoi was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fourth Session of Angola/Russia Intergovernmental Commission
for Economic Scientific-Technical and Trade Cooperation, he co-chaired with the Angolan minister of Geology and Mining, Francisco Queiroz.
The Russian minister said the value represents a very positive demand, calling for the need to continue working for the search of new areas in order to increase cooperation between the two countries.
He mentioned geology sector as one of the traditionally advantageous areas which, according to him, enabled the country to collect a good experience in the diamond activity.
The session allowed to discuss the main areas of cooperation, with stress to economic cooperation and identify some areas to boost it.
At the end of the talks the parties signed the Protocol of the IV session of the intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and trade between the two countries.
