Paris Monster (USA)
Ein singender Drummer und Keyboarder und ein textender Bassist, Komponist und Produzent – gemeinsam bilden sie die Band „Paris Monster“. Als Frontmann des US-amerikanischen Duos agiert der Multi-Instrumentalist Josh Dion. Mit Geoff Kraly im Bunde ist die Vision perfekt. Zu Beginn stets der Sound – Melodie und Rhythmus halten sich dabei die Waage. Und immer steht das Experimentieren im Zentrum ihrer Musik. Mit ihrem Sound zwischen klassischem Rock und synthetischen Klängen begeisterten die zwei Ausnahmemusiker bereits vor drei Jahren das Publikum in Muri!
Wir schrieben das Ende der Disco Funk Ära, als die populären Radiosender die Musik von Quincy Jones oder Michael Jackson rauf- und runterspielten. Das Schlagzeug seines Vaters entdeckt Josh Dion noch bevor er in den Kindergarten muss. Aufgewachsen in Storrs, Connecticut spielt er zu den einfachen und Rhythmus-geladenen Klängen von Nick Mason oder Ringo Starr. Im zarten Alter von acht Jahren beginnt er seine professionelle Karriere als Schlagzeuger und wird vier Jahre später zum „UConn Jazz Studies“-Programm der Universität von Connecticut eingeladen. Mit dem Wissen, sich auf irgendeine Weise von den Weltklasse-Schlagzeugern abheben zu müssen, übt er parallel Klavier und singt in der Kirche. Nach einem Abstecher an die William Paterson University in New Jersey macht er New York City zu seiner Wahlheimat. Durch die Begegnung mit dem US-amerikanischen Jazz-Gitarristen Chuck Loeb erhält er in der Folge die Chance, mit Grössen der Musikwelt zusammenzuarbeiten, wie etwa Bill Evans, Candy Dulfer, Spyro Gyra, Anthony Jackson, Randy Brecker oder Till Brönner. Währenddessen bastelt er an seiner Solo-Karriere und bringt 2005 mit seiner „Josh Dion Band“ das Debut-Album „Give Love“ heraus.
Geoff Kraly ist Bassist, Komponist und Produzent in einem. Bevor er sich im „Big Apple“ niederlässt, studiert er an der Northwestern University in Illinois. Heute wohnhaft in Brooklyn, ist er in der kreativen, unabhängigen New Yorker Musikszene aktiv. Als Co-Leader von „Paris Monster“ spielte er ausserdem mit der mikrotonalen „Saloon Band“ des Pianisten Jacob Sacks. Als Produzent wirkte er für das Albumprojekt „Apocryphal“ des Schlagzeugers Vinnie Sperrazza, oder auch für das zweite, 2014 erschienene Album „The Bridge“ des mehrfach ausgezeichneten Singer-Songwriters Benjamin Scheuer.
Die beiden jungen Multi-Talente ergänzen sich meisterhaft: Während Dion den „Groove“ und den „Instinkt“ der Band verkörpert, bildet Kraly den intellektuellen und experimentierfreudigen Teil von „Paris Monster“. Am Anfang eines neuen Stücks stehen zusammenhangslos aneinandergereihte Wörter, die Dion durch Improvisation entwickelt. Kraly liefert dem Ganzen die nötige Kontur. Er schreibt nicht nur die Texte, sondern ist auch für die elektronische Verstärkung und die Modulierung der Klänge zuständig. Sorgfältig ausgewählte Sounds umschlingen oftmals brutale, manchmal süsse, und immer aus dem Leben gegriffene Texte.

Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 21, 1985) is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Mission, British Columbia, and later based in Vancouver. In 2007, she placed third in Canadian Idol season five's competition. Jepsen independently released her debut album, Tug of War, in 2008. In 2011, she released the single "Call Me Maybe", which was followed in 2012 by her debut EP, Curiosity, and her second album, Kiss. "Call Me Maybe" reached number one in 18 countries during 2012 and was the year's best-selling single worldwide. Jepsen's third album, Emotion, was released in 2015 with mostly positive reviews, and was heavily influenced by songs from the 1980s. Its lead single "I Really Like You" reached the top 5 in the United Kingdom, the top 10 in Japan, top 15 in Jepsen's native Canada, and top 40 in the United States.
Jepsen has received multiple awards and nominations, including three Juno Awards, a Billboard Music Award, and an Allan Slaight Award. As of May 2015, Jepsen has sold more 20 million records worldwide.

Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations. After being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Josh Dion Band
The Josh Dion Band is a musical group based out of New York City led by singing drummer/songwriter Josh Dion. The group is commonly associated with the rock n' roll/Americana genres of music.
Personnel
History
In early 2004, Dion began writing and rehearsing original material with guitarist Daniel Hindman, keyboardist Pat Firth, and bassist Brian Killeen. All members of the band at one point attended William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. Their first performance date was at the Sarah Street Bar and Grill on February 4, 2004 in Stoudsburg, PA. At the time, the focus of the group was based loosely on songwriting and heavily on improvisation because of the lack of original material. Early influences of the band included blues, funk, jazz, and rock n' roll, though this sound would become more consolidated as the band progressed.

Ein singender Drummer und Keyboarder und ein textender Bassist, Komponist und Produzent – gemeinsam bilden sie die Band „Paris Monster“. Als Frontmann des US-amerikanischen Duos agiert der Multi-Instrumentalist Josh Dion. Mit Geoff Kraly im Bunde ist die Vision perfekt. Zu Beginn stets der Sound – Melodie und Rhythmus halten sich dabei die Waage. Und immer steht das Experimentieren im Zentrum ihrer Musik. Mit ihrem Sound zwischen klassischem Rock und synthetischen Klängen begeisterten die zwei Ausnahmemusiker bereits vor drei Jahren das Publikum in Muri!
Wir schrieben das Ende der Disco Funk Ära, als die populären Radiosender die Musik von Quincy Jones oder Michael Jackson rauf- und runterspielten. Das Schlagzeug seines Vaters entdeckt Josh Dion noch bevor er in den Kindergarten muss. Aufgewachsen in Storrs, Connecticut spielt er zu den einfachen und Rhythmus-geladenen Klängen von Nick Mason oder Ringo Starr. Im zarten Alter von acht Jahren beginnt er seine professionelle Karriere als Schlagzeuger und wird vier Jahre später zum „UConn Jazz Studies“-Programm der Universität von Connecticut eingeladen. Mit dem Wissen, sich auf irgendeine Weise von den Weltklasse-Schlagzeugern abheben zu müssen, übt er parallel Klavier und singt in der Kirche. Nach einem Abstecher an die William Paterson University in New Jersey macht er New York City zu seiner Wahlheimat. Durch die Begegnung mit dem US-amerikanischen Jazz-Gitarristen Chuck Loeb erhält er in der Folge die Chance, mit Grössen der Musikwelt zusammenzuarbeiten, wie etwa Bill Evans, Candy Dulfer, Spyro Gyra, Anthony Jackson, Randy Brecker oder Till Brönner. Währenddessen bastelt er an seiner Solo-Karriere und bringt 2005 mit seiner „Josh Dion Band“ das Debut-Album „Give Love“ heraus.
Geoff Kraly ist Bassist, Komponist und Produzent in einem. Bevor er sich im „Big Apple“ niederlässt, studiert er an der Northwestern University in Illinois. Heute wohnhaft in Brooklyn, ist er in der kreativen, unabhängigen New Yorker Musikszene aktiv. Als Co-Leader von „Paris Monster“ spielte er ausserdem mit der mikrotonalen „Saloon Band“ des Pianisten Jacob Sacks. Als Produzent wirkte er für das Albumprojekt „Apocryphal“ des Schlagzeugers Vinnie Sperrazza, oder auch für das zweite, 2014 erschienene Album „The Bridge“ des mehrfach ausgezeichneten Singer-Songwriters Benjamin Scheuer.
Die beiden jungen Multi-Talente ergänzen sich meisterhaft: Während Dion den „Groove“ und den „Instinkt“ der Band verkörpert, bildet Kraly den intellektuellen und experimentierfreudigen Teil von „Paris Monster“. Am Anfang eines neuen Stücks stehen zusammenhangslos aneinandergereihte Wörter, die Dion durch Improvisation entwickelt. Kraly liefert dem Ganzen die nötige Kontur. Er schreibt nicht nur die Texte, sondern ist auch für die elektronische Verstärkung und die Modulierung der Klänge zuständig. Sorgfältig ausgewählte Sounds umschlingen oftmals brutale, manchmal süsse, und immer aus dem Leben gegriffene Texte.
