The Cooma Stallions Under 18's had their first hit out for the season, coming up against a strong Merimbula-Pambula side last Sunday, April 10.

The Under 18's are proud to have several new players this year who will be an asset to the side and as the weeks progress the boys will get to know combinations and begin to develop their own strength within the team.

The Under 18's were put under the pump from kick-off with a charge down by Merimbula-Pambula resulting in a try within the first few minutes.

Merimbula-Pambula's forwards attacked hard and dominated the Stallions' forward pack. Unfortunately the Stallions had little ball possession which gave the opposition too many scoring opportunities and Merimbula-Pambula won 56 - 4.

The boys should still be proud of their efforts and can take some positives from the game to put into next week's clash with Eden.

Matt Swain had a strong game for his first match with the Stallions under 18's in the forward pack, along with Alex Swan, and supported by Jake Hedger and Troy Freebody in the backs.

James Cahill makes a run with the ball during last Sunday's U18 match.
