Arun is a local government district in West Sussex, England. It contains the towns of Arundel, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, and takes its name from the River Arun, which runs through the centre of the district.
Arun was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, merging the Urban Districts of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, the municipal borough of Arundel and parts of Chichester and Worthing Rural Districts.
Arun District Council is a non-metropolitan district council formed of 56 councillors from across the following 26 wards:
The council has been under the control of the Conservative Party since its first election in 1973. The last elections to the council were held on 5 May 2011, the results of which are shown below:
The following 31 civil parishes are located within the district:
Arun District occupies the central southern area of West Sussex, and is bordered by Chichester District to the west, Horsham District to the north and Worthing borough and Adur District to the east. The district is bisected by the River Arun, and is divided between a broad rural area in the north of the district that contains Arundel and a host of small villages, part of which sits within the South Downs National Park, and an urban coastal strip that includes Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

Arun Govil (Hindi: अरुण गोविल, Urdu: اَرُن گوِّل) (born 12 January 1958) is an award-winning Indian actor, producer and director. He has acted in various Hindi, Bhojpuri, Oriya and Telugu movies. He is best known for playing Rama in Ramanand Sagar's hit television series Ramayan (1986).
Arun Govil was born in Ramnagar near Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He got his formal education at Meerut University, where he acted in some plays. His father wanted him to become a government servant while Arun wanted to do something for which he would be remembered. In 1975, at the young age of 17, he moved to Bombay to start his own business there. He later found his way into acting.
Arun Govil is the youngest of four brothers, one of whom is married to Tabassum, a former child actress. His father was a government officer. Govil is married to actress Shrilekha, with whom he has a son and a daughter.
Arun Govil describes himself as "not particularly religious" and says when he was a child he would attend Ram-lila plays to please his religious mother. He currently serves as the president of Lakshmi Narayan Dham, an organization that works under His Holiness 'Brahmrishi Shri Kumar Swami' who is known for blessing people with "beej mantra's" (secret incantations) to help them with their problems and cure their illnesses.

Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn is situated on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya River. It's super easy to get to from downtown Bangkok via taxi, bus or moto taxi which I took. You shouldn't have to pay much more than THB150 via moto taxi and a touch more via taxi. This place is really picturesque so make sure you pack your camera. The temple was under restoration when I was there but still worth visiting. One of the most famous landmarks in all of Bangkok, Wat Arun, is surprisingly deceiving. Known as the 'Temple of Dawn' Wat Arun is on many Thai postcards being peddled to tourists. Located along the Chao Phraya river, Wat Arun is especially 'deceiving' for two main reasons. 1) From a distance the temple appears to be gray and a little drab; however, up close in person, it is very ornate. 2) This is easily the steepest temple I've ever climbed. Planning a trip to Bangkok? Learn about Wat Arun, the most famous of Thailand's many wats, or Buddhist temples, in this travel video. Tip: Try to catch it at dusk or dawn, when it is at its most beautiful.
Perhaps the most famous of Thailand’s many wats, or Buddhist temples, is Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.
It’s even printed on currency – look for it on the 10 baht coin.
Wat Arun was named for the Hindu god of the dawn, Aruna, to symbolize the dawn of a new era after the fall of the ancient Ayutthaya kingdom.
Dawn also happens to be when Wat Arun is the most beautiful, but if you’d rather not rise early, it’s also especially stunning at sunset, when it catches the colored light.
Of course, you can look at the temple from afar for free, but for a very small admission fee you can enter the temple complex and get a better appreciation of Wat Arun.
If you climb the stairs of the central prang, you’ll be able to see that it’s decorated with mosaics made of broken Chinese porcelain.
You’ll also get an amazing view of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, the river, and downtown Bangkok.
Just be careful–the stairs are very steep and narrow, so it’ll be a difficult climb.
Also remember that when you visit any wat, you have to follow the dress code–no exposed shoulders, pants and skirts should cover at least the knees, and shoes must be taken off before entering the temple.

Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn is situated on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya River. It's super easy to get to from downtown Bangkok via taxi, bus or moto taxi which I took. You shouldn't have to pay much more than THB150 via moto taxi and a touch more via taxi.
This place is really picturesque so make sure you pack your camera. The temple was under restoration when I was there but still worth visiting. I recommend visiting in the afternoon then you can head back over the river via boat and have a drink and watch the sun set over the temple. Its magical! -Dan

Bangkok is one of the most thrilling cities in the world to visit. With such a diversity of different attractions and a fascinating mixture of traditional fused with modern culture, the city offers something interesting for everyone. This video includes 25 of what I think are the absolute best things to do in Bangkok. 1. Wang Lang Market ตลาดวังหลัง - Wang Lang Market is one my favorite snacking and browsing markets in Bangkok.
2. Chatuchak Weekend Market ตลาดนัดจตุจักร - One of the most popular things to do in Bangkok is go shopping - don't miss the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
3. Klong Toey Market ตลาดคลองเตย - The most vital fresh food market in Bangkok.
4. Floating Market ตลาดน้ำ - In this video I visit Talad Nam Bang Nam Pheung floating market in southern Bangkok.
5. Pratunam Market ประตูน้ำ - Shopping is a huge Bangkok attraction and Pratunam is one of the wholesale outdoor markets.

18. Silom and Patpong (สีลม) - Silom at night turns into a market with Patpong street, home to many go-go bars and fake goods.
19. Victory Monument อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ - One of the transportation hubs of Bangkok and there's a lot of food, including the tasty boat noodle alley.
20. Eat Durian กินทุเรียน - Durian, also known as the king of fruits, is creamy and sweet, and it's the best fruit in the world.
21. Thai Street Food อาหารข้างทาง - Eating Thai street food is one of the most rewarding things to do in Bangkok, mainly because there's so much to try, and so many good flavors.
22. Thai Cooking Class เรียนทำอาหาร- A cooking class is a great way to learn some Thai recipes!

This video includes 25 of what I think are the absolute best things to do in Bangkok. I put together a range of different activities that consist of everything from Bangkok's zoo, its most revered temples and golden palaces, to the culinary options the city is so famous for. 2. Chatuchak Weekend Market ตลาดนัดจตุจักร - One of the most popular things to do in Bangkok is go shopping - don't miss the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
3. Klong Toey Market ตลาดคลองเตย - The most vital fresh food market in Bangkok.

19. Victory Monument อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ - One of the transportation hubs of Bangkok and there's a lot of food, including the tasty boat noodle alley.
20. Eat Durian กินทุเรียน - Durian, also known as the king of fruits, is creamy and sweet, and it's the best fruit in the world.
21. Thai Street Food อาหารข้างทาง - Eating Thai street food is one of the most rewarding things to do in Bangkok, mainly because there's so much to try, and so many good flavors.
22. Thai Cooking Class เรียนทำอาหาร- A cooking class is a great way to learn some Thai recipes!
23. Pahurat พาหุรัด- Bangkok's little India is known as Pahurat. It's a place to shop for fabric and dine on delicious Indian food.

One of the most famous landmarks in all of Bangkok, Wat Arun, is surprisingly deceiving.
Known as the 'Temple of Dawn' Wat Arun is on many Thai postcards being peddled to tourists.
Located along the Chao Phraya river, Wat Arun is especially 'deceiving' for two main reasons.
1) From a distance the temple appears to be gray and a little drab; however, up close in person, it is very ornate.
2) This is easily the steepest temple I've ever climbed. Once again, from a distance there would be no way to tell this.
With steps that would have been more appropriately designed for a stilts than human feet, we ascended and descended the stairs with our eyes looking to the side (as opposed to down) and at times slinking down on our butts. It wasn't pretty but neither of us came tumbling down. In other words, mission accomplished.
The temple itself is fascinating both from afar and up close. It is definitely worth the price of admission and should be on our shortlist of things to do in Bangkok.
We boarded a river taxi, one of our favorite ways of getting around Bangkok, to visit one of the most iconic landmarks of the entire city.
Today is one of our last days in Thailand and actually one of our last days in Southeast Asia. We've decided to do a bit of sightseeing around Bangkok and we are visiting Wat Arun.
This is the Temple of Dawn located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya river.
I'm already sweating profusely and now it is time to go climb this massive temple.
I've seen Wat Arun a few times while traveling down the Chao Phraya river. It is really interesting because from a distance it just looks like it is a grey temple made out of concrete but once you actually get here and walk up close to it you can see all of the intricate little details like it is made up of broken tiles and ceramics. It is really cool. It is a bit of a surprise.
And it gets even steeper.
That was easily the scariest set of stairs I have ever climbed. The steps were like this high and they were only this wide, so your feet could barely fit on there. I had to come down seated the whole time - like just on my butt.
Some tips for visiting Wat Arun. First, make sure you bring tonnes of water. We brought two water bottles and we've just guzzled them. I swear, I've sweated about half of my body weight. And second, even though it is a really steep climb - even if you're afraid of heights like I personally am - it is still worth going up. The views are amazing.

Bangkok has been on my bucket list forever and I'm happy to share the city did not disappoint! No matter what you're in the mood for, Bangkok has it! The temples are absolutely stunning and the nightlife is of course lively. I suggest going first thing in the morning to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho as the crowds get quite intense.

Before Zindagi inspired confidence in the market that Urdu serials can be young, lively and modern, in the mushrooming bouquet of general entertainment channels, Urdu channels existed at the far end of the band width as some sort of obligation very much like the Muslim friend of the mainstream Hindi cinema ... Like you can still find a young Rahul Roy with Arun Govil and Vijendra Ghatge in Kaise Kahoon on Zee Salaam ... Keywords....

Keeping this as the underlying thread, Arun Govil and Sunil Lahri have produced a serial “Happy Homes” which is being telecast on Doordarshan National (DD-N) ... “Arun and I were perturbed by the ill-treatment meted out to women in our society ... We did not want to be accused of making fun.” Govil adds, “We have avoided buffoonery.”....

This Children's Day, let's take a trip down memory lane, reliving the fun we had on the field and off it too ... And we kids gaped at the smiling Arun Govil from the front row! Then, smart phones, tablets, playstations or PC games were unheard of, and television meant fixed hours of entertainment, or long, torturous days of shehnai recitals if a national leader happened to pass away ...
