This is a video of me making a beautiful small modern side table. I welded 1" x 3" steel tube to make the "X" table frame and used 2" thick mahogany boards to make the top of the table.
I changed the plan from the initial drawing. I was going to put a wood shelf at the bottom but I changed my mind and decided to put a steel bar across the middle. This is when I decided to incorporate my bolt that has a secret compartment.
Inside the bolt, you can safely store valuables in its hidden compartment. No one would ever think to look inside a bolt. I hope you like what I built. I made this for my home.
Please thumbs up if you liked it and subscribe. Also, leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Thanks for watching. www.Retroweld.com
Enjoy.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my videos. RetroWeld (
Retro Weld) is a place where you can see me do
DIY projects around my house. I will do other build projects just for your entertainment. I want this to be a diverse channel that is not limited to just woodworking or welding. You may even see some videos about electronics. Please check out some of my other build videos.
So far I have made some cool furniture such as a desk, table, industrial coffee table, modern table with a hidden secret hiding compartment inside a bolt, contemporary table, a video on how to make headboards out of reclaimed pallet wood. I try to make things that have a great design and fit within the décor of my home. I have also made other things like storage cabinets for my garage, iron fence, a trailer hitch with a step and shackle for my 4x4 truck. Typically I like to make stuff out of wood and steel.
I also plan to do tool reviews. Some of the tools I use in my projects are a
Lincoln Electric MIG welder and
TIG Welder, Hypertherm plasma cutter, table saw, Dewalt miter saw, grinder, nail gun, brad nail gun, forge and a sander. I have a 60 gallon air compressor to run my pneumatic tools. There are a few more tools I want to buy for my shop. One of the tools I hope to get and share with you is a
CNC plasma table.
I want this to be a fun channel and a place to inspire you to
MAKE something. I hope you will learn some valuable tips and tricks and get great ideas for your projects. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have a recommendation on something you would like to see me make or build. Douglas

Download ANSI z49.1 and read it before doing any welding. you can download ansi z49.1 at aws.org. I'm not an expert so don't do what I do.
