ANSTO Eureka Prize for Innovative Use of Technology finalist Zebedee Team, CSIRO Zebedee is a handheld laser scanner which generates 3D maps of challenging environments in the time it takes to walk through them. Zebedee can localise itself solely using its own measurements and thus it can operate in GPS-denied environments and is well-suited to various scientific and commercial applications including forest and cave surveying, building maintenance, security inspection, mining, manufacturing, emergency services, and cultural heritage mapping. http://australianmuseum.net.au/eureka The views expressed in these films are those of the finalists and do not necessarily reflect those of the Australian Museum.- published: 23 Aug 2013

Pumpkin Bombs at 300fps
Halloween only comes once anually. Truth be told, if we had it our way, it’d be a year-long event. Really, any excuse for 365 days of cheeky mischief would do, but there’s something special about the Samhain traditions: creepy costumes, trick r treating, ghost stories, pumpkin carving…
The problem is, a full month never seems to be enough time to fit all the celebration in– making jack o’ lanterns alone can take hours, so we at Ground Up Films and our good friends and collaborators at Zebedee Films in Sarasota came up with our own unique way to cut down on all that messy carving time. Who needs to meticulously sculpt a dozen grinning faces into thick vegetables when we’ve got a Red Epic X and… PUMPKIN BOMBS?!!
So, in keeping with the ancient traditions of mischief and mayhem on the night of All Hallow’s Eve, we present to you 3 minutes of glorious, gut-filled explosions– in 300 fps, nonetheless!
Shot on RED EpicX 2k @300fps (and 5k @120fps)

The Story of Zebedee
The Story of Zebedee
The Father to apostles James and John was Zebedee. Thus, this story could be about him. During the time when Jesus was with us on Earth it was a dangerous time to be a Christian, because Christians were being persecuted. Thus, Christians would strike and arch on the ground while they talked with a person about Christ. If the person they were talking to also struck an arch, completing the symbol of a fish, then the person would know he was talking to a fellow Christian, and could talk freely about Jesus. The fish is the universal symbol of Christianity. Zebedee was very zealous and enthusiastic about Jesus. He witnessed for Jesus continuously. One day in his enthusiasm to witness about Jesus he forgot to make the Christian symbol of the fish on the ground. It turned out the man he was talking to was a Roman soldier who was not in uniform. Immediately the man arrested Zebedee and threw him in jail. Well, that did not stop Zebedee. He started witnessing to the jail keeper. The next day Zebedee was taken before the judge. The judge said, "I don't have time for these Christians. Get him out of here. Jail keeper, do with him whatever you want." Oh, now Zebedee was at the mercy of the jail keeper. That didn't stop Zebedee from witnessing while he was still in jail. And, witness he did. Finally, the jail keeper had enough. He said to Zebedee, "I'll tell you what, I'm going to give you a piece of paper. If you can fold it, and with one straight line cut make it become a cross, I will let you out of here." That night Zebedee prayed to the Lord for Jesus to show him how to fold the paper so with one straight line cut it would become a cross. The Lord was faithful to Zebedee and in a dream showed him how to fold the paper. Zebedee was released and the story continues on as a witness for Jesus. The Crucifixion Story 1. Take the largest piece of paper and set it aside (folded). It will be the last paper to be unfolded. Unfold all the other pieces of paper at this time. 2. Unfold the two large pieces of paper. "Who was to the left and to the right of Jesus when he was crucified? That is right, A thief was on his left and a thief was on his right" 3. Place the two long rectangle pieces of paper together so they intersect. "That's right, a crown of thorns. And these pointed pieces of paper can help you to remember the crown of thorns." 4. Display the a square pieces of paper. What did the soldiers do with Jesus' clothes? "The soldiers said, "Let's not tear up his clothes. Let's cast lots to see who gets his clothes." The square pieces of paper look like dice to help us remember the soldiers cast lots to see who would win his clothes. 5. Display the pieces of paper that look like blades for a spear. Put them together. "they said he was dead. But, Pontius Pilate said to make sure he was dead. So a soldier put a spear into Jesus' side. Perhaps it was a double bladed spear." 6. Unfold the last piece of paper. It unfolds to become a cross. "You may think the story is over, but it is not." 7. Arrange the pieces of paper to spell L-I-F-E 8. And, if you take Jesus to be the Lord of your life, and your savior he will grant you eternal life with him. 9. If you're telling the story to an adult who may be a nonbeliever you may say, "Your sole lives forever, and you get to decide where that shall be." Arrange the same pieces of paper to spell H-E-L-L- published: 27 Nov 2013
