Francesco is a 1989 docu-drama relating in flashback St. Francis of Assisi's evolution from rich man's son to religious humanitarian and finally to full-fledged saint. The film was based on Herman Hesse's Francis of Assisi, which director Liliana Cavani had previously filmed in 1966. It stars Mickey Rourke and Helena Bonham Carter. Greek composer, Vangelis, provided the musical score.
Raised as the pampered son of a merchant, Francis goes off to war, only to return with a profound horror for the society which generated such suffering. In one scene, as an act of renunciation, he strips himself of his fine clothing in front of his father, and leaves the house naked and barefoot, joining the lepers and beggars in the poor section of town. A series of episodes from Francis' life follows, rather than a coherent narrative, until his final days when he receives the stigmata, the wounds Christ suffered at the crucifixion.
The film won three awards and was nominated for a fourth. Danilo Donati won the 1989 David di Donatello Award for Best Production Design, and the 1989 Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists Silver Ribbon also for Best Production Design. Fabio Bussotti won the Syndicate's Best Supporting Actor Award. Director Liliana Cavani was nominated for the Golden Palm at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival.

PlotThe life of St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226) as related by followers who gather after his death to tell stories so that Leone can record them: a privileged and virile youth, a prisoner of war, an heir who turns away from his father and gives all to the poor, a beggar for others, and an inspiration to friends who accept the Gospels' life of poverty. He seeks the Pope's blessing, and he endures persecution at the hands of the family of Chiara Offreduccio (1194-1253), who becomes St. Clare. Many join the order he has established and then rebel at his expectations. In near despair - and ill - he writes a Rule to take to the Pope; then, the Lord sends him a message. He dies smiling.

Plot: In 2011, after the revolution of Jasmine, in Italy comes a massive wave of illegal immigration of Tunisians seeking a better life. One of the most precocious talents in the history of jazz. When he was barely nine years old Francesco took his first steps, working with internationally famous musicians. Meeting Wynton Marsalis in Pescara at the jazz Festival held on July 2002 was a decisive moment for Francesco’s career.
Amazed by Francesco’s qualities, Marsalis took him along with his septet on his European tour 2003, where Francesco performed in prestigious theatres in the largest cities in Europe. From that moment on, Francesco went through a series of important experiences both in Italy and abroad. He won various important prizes: the Massimo Urbani National Award in Urbisaglia, the EuroJazz Award in Lecco, the International Jazz Festivals Organization Award in New York, the World Saxophone Competition in London, the Django d’Or in Rome and many others.
In order to experience new musical styles and genres, Francesco went to New Orleans where he played with Ellis Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, Thadeus Richard, Bob Franch, Maurice Brown and many other important local musicians while taking special lessons from Alvin Batiste.
In 2004, he participated as a special guest in the Sanremo Music Festival.
In 2005 the Swing Journal, the authoritative Japanese jazz music magazine, confers him the New Stars Award, prize reserved to the emergent foreign talents.
Immediately after, the affirmation in the Top Jazz, referendum of the Italian Music Jazz magazine, that recognizes him as the best new talent of the year.
Francesco has performed with world famous musicians: Hank Jones, Dave Brubeck, Cedar Walton, Mulgrew Miller, Jonathan Batiste, Ronnie Matthews, Jimmy Cobb, Ben Riley, Ray Drummond, Reggie Johnson, Doug Sides Lewis Nash, James Williams, Joe Lovano, George Mraz, Joe Locke, Kenny Wheeler, Enrico Rava, Gianni Basso, Dado Moroni, Franco D’Andrea, Franco Cerri Stefano Bollani and many other Italian and American musicians.
In February 2006 Francesco achieved the Diploma in Transverse Flute at the Musical Institute Vincenzo Bellini in Catania.
Since 2008 he has been Artistic director of the “Vittoria Jazz Festival” in Vittoria his native city.
On January 19, 2009 he played in Washington DC during the celebrations in honor of President Barak Obama and Martin Luther King Jr. day.
On July 17, 2009 the Umbria Jazz Foundation named Francesco “Ambassador of the Italian jazz music in the world.” In 2012, he arranged “Don’t Stop” the background music for the current commercial for the ENI station.
In July of 2012, for the Olympics, he was invited to perfom in London, at the headquarters of the Casa Italia in the presence of the Italian Ambassador in London and of the leaders of CONI.
In September of 2012, during a long stay in the United States, he has held a series of master classes in Saxophone at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
In June 2013, at the behest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Consul General of Philadelphia, in collaboration with the American Secretary of State John Kerry, Francesco was chosen to represent Italy to play during the celebrations for the Year of Italian Culture in the United States. On 2014 February 20, Francesco, received in New York the “Grand Award of Merit” by the “American Society of the Italian Legions of Merit”, on behalf of the many contributions of Sicilian jazz musicians in the jazz music development and diffusion throughout the world.

Regia e testo di Igor Sibaldi. The Cars Play Set is the fourth play set in Disney Infinity, and is based on the Pixar movie Cars and its sequel. The play set takes place in Radiator Springs after the events of Cars 2. You are able to play as Lightning McQueen, Mater, Holley Shiftwell and Francesco Bernoulli. The Cars Play Set was released on August 18th, 2013.

Francesco Schiavone (Casal di Principe, 3 marzo 1953) è un criminale italiano.
Soprannominato Sandokan per una leggera somiglianza fisica con l'attore Kabir Bedi, divenne famoso per le lotte di potere avvenute nella sua cittadina natale soprattutto negli anni settanta e ottanta, ed è attualmente ritenuto il boss più importante del clan dei casalesi.
Ha iniziato la sua carriera criminale come autista e guardia del corpo di Umberto Ammaturo; venne arrestato per la prima volta nel 1972, all'età di 18 anni appena, per possesso illegale di armi da fuoco. Schiavone è stato coinvolto in alcune guerre fra diversi clan camorristici, guerre nelle quali negli ultimi decenni hanno perso la vita decine di persone nella zona di Napoli.
Si schierò con Antonio Bardellino e Mario Iovine, leader di spicco della Nuova Famiglia, contro la Nuova Camorra Organizzata (N.C.O.) di Raffaele Cutolo. Quando il boss della N.C.O. fu sconfitto, una faida interna scoppiò tra i Bardellino e gli Iovine. Dopo una nuova faida scoppiata tra gli Schiavone ed i De Falco, Vincenzo De Falco fu ucciso il 2 febbraio 1991, a Casal di Principe. Per rappresaglia, Mario Iovine fu ucciso il 6 marzo 1991 in Portogallo. Schiavone è stato arrestato il 25 aprile 1991. Mentre era in custodia, la fazione De Falco è stata sconfitta. Dopo l'omicidio di Iovine divenne il capo principale del clan dei Casalesi, divenendone il boss assoluto.
Arrestato prima il 13 dicembre 1990 e poi l'11 luglio 1998 in un bunker del suo paese natale grazie alle indagini condotte da Sergio Sellitto, è stato condannato all'ergastolo per associazione di tipo mafioso.
Attualmente, per i reati di camorra da lui commessi, è sottoposto al regime carcerario speciale previsto dall'art. 41 bis della legge sull'ordinamento penitenziario. In casa di Schiavone, all'atto dell'arresto, furono rinvenuti dipinti di sua realizzazione e moltissimi libri, fra cui diverse opere su Napoleone Bonaparte. Il 16 giugno 2008, durante le fasi finali dell'appello del processo Spartacus che si svolgeva presso il tribunale di Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Schiavone compare in videoconferenza dal carcere de L'Aquila dove era detenuto, dichiarando di non voler comparire in video perché non voleva essere considerato come una fiera in gabbia.
Il 19 giugno 2008, con la conclusione del processo, viene condannato definitivamente alla pena dell'ergastolo, insieme ad altri componenti del clan dei Casalesi. All'udienza finale, in aula era presente anche lo scrittore Roberto Saviano. Successivamente alla condanna, il 28 giugno 2008, viene trasferito nel carcere di Opera, dove rimane sotto il regime del 41 bis, ossia il carcere duro. Nonostante ciò, nel gennaio 2010 Schiavone riuscì a incontrare il boss di Cosa nostra Giuseppe Graviano durante l'ora d'aria, creando grande allarme tra i magistrati napoletani.

Afferma il Pontefice: «Quando chiedo quanti seminaristi ci sono in una comunità religiosa maschile o femminile e mi si risponde quattro-cinque oppure una-due novizie e intanto la comunità invecchia e ci sono monasteri grandi e vuoti, portati avanti da poche suore vecchiette, allora tutto questo mi fa venire una tentazione contro la speranza.
Cosa succede, perchè il ventre della vita consacrata diventa tanto sterile!», sono le domande che si pone Francesco. Papa Francesco ha fatto questa mattina il segno della barba che si allunga nei momenti di noia per descrivere come un religioso può reagire talvolta alle richieste dei suoi superiori. Stava parlando della virtù dell’obbedienza ai partecipanti al Giubileo dei religiosi, nell’Aula Nervi ed ha esclamato: «Certe volte le cose che chiedono i superiori... Che barba!».
«A volte - ha scherzato - il mio linguaggio è povero: debbo usare il linguaggio dei sordomuti». Il Papa, disperato per il calo di vocazioni, ha indicato però come modello ai 4mila consacrati che lo ascoltavano la preghiera di Gesù nel Getsemani: «Padre per favore questo calice no, ma si faccia quello che tu vuoi».
«Siete chiamati a proclamare la realtà di Dio, anzitutto con la vostra vita prima ancora che con le parole». Papa Francesco lo sottolinea ai religiosi, sacerdoti e suore, ricevuti in udienza nell’aula Paolo VI in Vaticano per il Giubileo della vita consacrata, nel discorso consegnato per l’occasione al Cardinale Joao Braz de Aviz. «Se a volte Dio viene rifiutato o emarginato o ignorato, dobbiamo chiederci se forse non siamo stati abbastanza trasparenti, mostrando non il volto di Dio ma piuttosto il nostro», avverte il Pontefice predicando l’osservanza di tre elementi: profezia, prossimità, speranza.
Soprattutto, il Papa esorta a «farsi vicini ad ogni uomo e ad ogni donna», ricordando che «seguire Cristo vuol dire caricare su di sè il ferito che incontriamo lungo la strada; andare in cerca della pecora smarrita; essere vicini alla gente, condividere le loro gioie e i loro dolori; mostrare con il nostro amore il volto paterno di Dio e la carezza materna della Chiesa. Nessuno mai -ammonisce Francesco- vi senta lontani, distaccati, chiusi e perciò sterili».

Radici is an album of Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini. It was released in 1972 by EMI.
Radici ("Roots") deals mainly with Guccini's rediscover of his youth, symbolized by the cover's picture, portraying his grandparents and family. The family's house in Pavana, on the Tuscan Apennines, is in fact the theme of the title-track. "Il vecchio e il bambino", the last track, is one of most famous Guccini's ballads, as well "La locomotiva", describing a failed rail attempt of a 19th century Bolognese anarchist, and which has since then ended all singer's concertoes. "Piccola città" is about Guccini's youth in Modena, where his parents had moved after World War II.
A notable poetical effort is present in songs such as "Canzone della bambina portoghese" and "Canzone dei dodici mesi", while "Incontro" deals with the melancholy of a late rendez-vous between Guccini and an old friend.
