+Phillip Hanford Hi, they are opened and accessible for research freely! still. you can volunteer in person to the research. Preserving them... this is a very long topic and will make videos on it. Basically preserving is not difficult, but official institutions are little interested because many of them do not fit in the historic movie preached in the schools/TV. So again it is all left to noble private people willing to contribute...

Baalbek (Greek: Ἡλιούπολις; Arabic: بعلبك / ALA-LC: Ba‘albak) is a town in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon situated east of the Litani River. It is famous for its exquisitely detailed yet monumentally scaled temple ruins of the Roman period, when Baalbek, then known as Heliopolis, was one of the largest sanctuaries in the empire. It is Lebanon's greatest Roman treasure, and it can be counted among the wonders of the ancient world, containing some of the largest and best preserved Roman ruins.
Towering high above the Beqaa plain, their monumental proportions proclaimed the power and wealth of Imperial Rome. The gods worshiped there, the triad of Jupiter, Venus and Bacchus, were grafted onto the indigenous deities of Hadad, Atargatis and a young male god of fertility. Local influences are seen in the planning and layout of the temples, which vary from the classic Roman design.
Baalbek is home to the annual Baalbeck International Festival. The town is about 85 km (53 mi) northeast of Beirut and about 75 km (47 mi) north of Damascus. It has a population of approximately 72,000.

+Phillip Hanford Hi, they are opened and accessible for research freely! still. you can volunteer in person to the research. Preserving them... this is a very long topic and will make videos on it. Basically preserving is not difficult, but official institutions are little interested because many of them do not fit in the historic movie preached in the schools/TV. So again it is all left to noble private people willing to contribute...

Denning at Baalbek
We visited the refugee camp in Baalbek, near the Lebanese/Syrian border in the first week of May, 2013. The camp has been housing around 4,000 Palestinian refugees, mainly from the Galilee area, for more than a generation. In the last two years though they've had to cope with an influx of 7,400 Syrian refugees! Denning clowned around with the kids there. We visited the refugee camp in Baalbek, near the Lebanese/Syrian border in the first week of May, 2013. The camp has been housing around 4,000 Palestinian refugees, mainly from the Galilee area, for more than a generation. In the last two years though they've had to cope with an influx of 7,400 Syrian refugees!
Denning clowned around with the kids there. I don't know the prelude to this scene but when I arrived he'd evidently been teaching his charges to be 'Aussies' for some time! ;-)

Cappadocia is an area in Central Anatolia in Turkey best known for its unique moon-like landscape, underground cities, cave churches and houses carved in the rocks. The Cappadocian Region located in the center of the Anatolian Region of Turkey, with its valley, canyon, hills and unusual rock formation created as a result of the eroding rains and winds of thousands of years.

Wadi Rum is a spectacularly scenic desert valley in southern Jordan. This area of Jordan is quite isolated and largely inhospitable to settled life. The only permanent inhabitants are several thousand Bedouin nomads and villagers. There is no real infrastructure, leaving the area quite unspoilt.

Dome of the Rock located in the middle of the sanctuary opposite of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is probably the most known landmark of Jerusalem with its golden dome and octagonal blue walls that are adorned with Arabic calligraphy of Koranic verses. The interior of both the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa mosque are closed to non-Muslims, however, the plaza that they are situated in is open to the public.
