Will Bernie Sandernistas dance largest conga line ever? (up and down Manhattan?)
I joined the reddit group "Coders for Sanders" this past week, and after posting my suggestion for a US vs. Social Democracy cost/Quality of Life calculator, I sent a message blast to the moderators: Read more about Will Bernie Sandernistas dance largest conga line ever? (up and down Manhattan?)

Andrea Mitchell's April Fools Joke
Watching the evening news I caught a report by Andrea Mitchell on the Nuclear Security Conference that is now being held, appropriately enough, on April Fools Day. It is obviously part of a PR effort to build international support for our shiny new war on ISIS. Read more about Andrea Mitchell's April Fools Joke

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 3/25/1911 -- 100+ Women Burned to Death Awakening the US Conscience to Labor Rights
Re-post from 3-18-2011.
[historical info taken from American Experience presentation and poetry from Jonathan Fink]
On April 5, 2011, 400,000 New Yorkers, 1 out of 10, showed up in the rain to mourn the deaths of 146 garment workers, mostly young immigrant women, who had died in the deadliest workplace accident in New York history. Dr. Jill Stein & the “Green New Deal” Recovery Plan for Ailing America
According to the Green Party’s 2016 Presidential candidate, Dr. Jill Stein, the Democratic Party cannot be trusted to defend the “interests of regular people.”
Stein declares:
“We need our own party, organized by, led by, and founded by, WE the people NOT the corporations!”
“My Power to the People Plan is for deep system change, from greed and exploitation of corporate capitalism to a human-centered economy: PEOPLE, PLANET, PEACE OVER PROFIT!”

Farage tag teams with Galloway for Brexit; when will Sanders tag team with Trump against TPP?
I had a slightly wild idea the other day. Both Trump and Sanders have credibly* come out against TPP, but both have been disappointments in terms of using their candidacies - with the attendant millions of dollars of free advertising that come with them - to really educate the public about TPP. The upcoming US Presidential election - where affordable health care and education are at issue, will not be able to fix the problems caused by ignoring the failure to exclude provision of health insurance and education services from the TISA negotiations
In India, on the other side of the world, a debate has been raging for a year over India's entry to the WTO and the implications of Indias signing the WTO GATS, an act which, the Indian media is saying, eliminates the right to education (and health care).
India therefore should be seen as one of the only countries where these issues have ever seen the light of day in the media. To Hell in a hand basket in the Lexus Lane
Congestion pricing is the latest attack onthe commons.
The success of congestion pricing, and the neoliberal agenda more broadly, are predicated upon American citizens embracing the idea that access to rights, government services, and the protections owed citizens, should be granted in proportion to each individual’s ability and willingness to pay

Dr. Jill Stein as Savior Not Spoiler in 2016 Prez Election
Caught in an undertow of ever-escalating amorality, we, the American people, drift ever farther from the shores of a representative democracy.
For one more national presidential election, will we throw away another opportunity to rescue ourselves and our country, not to mention the rest of humanity as well as our very planet? Read more about Dr. Jill Stein as Savior Not Spoiler in 2016 Prez Election
