Is Year 12 really that different from Year 11?
Just to clarify my second point regarding expectations: The disparity between Year 11 standards and Year 12 standards was so large (at least in Literature in my case) that I would assume teachers would do what they can in Year 11 to minimise that difference and prepare their students. Suddenly my writing done in Year 11 was no where near what was required of me in Year 12!

Whilst I have been wonderfully enjoying my first beautiful extended uni holidays, I have had some of my year 12 friends approach me for advice about how to tackle the terrifying monster which is the NSW Higher School Certificate. I made this video, because I wish someone had made it for me when I was 18. And I don't want to tell you what to do - I want to tell you what not to do.
I want you to know that it's okay to take time for yourself. I want you to know it's okay to not know what the hell you want to do, or where you want to go in life. No one can expect you to know that at 18. Take this precious time to reflect on what you just achieved - 13 years of study... completed... done. You are successful because of that.

Year Twelve
Year 12 is an educational year group in schools in many countries including England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It is sometimes the twelfth year of compulsory education, or alternatively a year of post-compulsory education. It usually incorporates students aged between 15 and 18, depending on the locality. I made this video, because I wish someone had made it for me when I was 18. And I don't want to tell you what to do - I want to tell you what not to do.
I want you to know that it's okay to take time for yourself. I want you to know it's okay to not know what the hell you want to do, or where you want to go in life. No one can expect you to know that at 18. Take this precious time to reflect on what you just achieved - 13 years of study... completed... done. You are successful because of that.
