Application to Harley Davidson Discover More 2015 My name is Tugrul, I am 27 years of age, and in my last year in the Communication Design Department at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. I’m happy to be the proud owner of a 1997 model Electra glide classic (my second Harley), and I am also a member of H.O.G, Ankara chapter. This past summer, I did a 9,000 KM solo tour of Europe. When I returned to Turkey, I began sharing my experiences from the trip via my YouTube channel, and there was a lot of interest in it. While I’ve been preparing for another tour, I’ve been making moto vlogs, as well as motorcycle test videos. My YouTube channel has 4341 subscribers, my twitter 2984, and my Facebook pages 6000 , my instagram has 1758 followers and my number of followers is increasing each day. My journey has even become news in my home country’s newspapers. Contrary to most people’s notion of Harley Davidson being a less than optimal motorcycle for long road trips and touring, or being only a motorcycle “for looks,” I believe that the Harley bike is ideal; and in my future journeys hope to prove this point. I am certain I will draw a lot of attention, and new Harley lovers, to the Harley Davidson brand, as I have already been gaining support and building public excitement for my tours and my motorcycle lifestyle. I am currently planning for a world tour, on my Harley, since I am a true enthusiast(entusias), and the only place I truly feel happy is on the road. When I’m not on the open road, my thoughts, and my dreams, are of riding my Harley. The opportunity to be on the road as a representative of the Harley Davidson name, excites me immensely, and I was compelled to apply immediately for this chance. To be completely honest the route that I already had in mind was not limited to Europe. I have been planning to circumnavigate the entire globe, travelling by the world’s longest roads. I have also been considering a two-part tour of Europe and North America, and if you would give me the opportunity to fund these projects I am more than prepared to execute them. I tend to use much less money in my own journeys than what you have offered. That is why, if you pick me, the rest will be up to your imagination, since I have spent a fair amount of time planning and imagining. If you do decide to just do Europe, I will do what I can to go to every street corner of every village, which is no problem for me, but a joy. If you do pick me for this route and this project, I can assure you that I have the technical, capacity, experience and capability to convert this into a documentary. After I return, given my production experience and prior successes, there is no reason why this document might not be aired on television, even. I love Harley Davidson, and I love the road, and I believe in myself, and that I will share this project in every possible corner of digital media, in the most complimentary, informative, and exciting way possible.
