John Christopher Wells (born 11 March 1939 in Bootle, Lancashire) is a British phonetician and Esperanto teacher. Wells is a professor emeritus at University College London, where until his retirement in 2006 he held the departmental chair in phonetics.
His father was originally from South Africa, and his mother was English; he has two younger brothers. After a childhood in poverty, he studied languages and taught himself Gregg Shorthand. Having learned Welsh, he was interviewed in Welsh on radio; he has a reasonable knowledge of ten different languages. He was apparently approached by the Home Office to work on speaker identification but turned down the offer as it was still considered unacceptable to be homosexual at the time, and he feared that the security check would make his homosexuality public. In September 2006 he signed a civil partnership with Gabriel Parsons, a native of Montserrat and his partner since 1968.
Wells earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Cambridge and his master's degree and his PhD at the University of London.
Wells most commonly refers to:

James Madison University (also known as JMU, The U, Madison, or James Madison) is a public coeducational research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States. Founded in 1908 as the State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Harrisonburg, the institution was renamed Madison College in 1938 in honor of President James Madison and then James Madison University in 1977. The university is situated in the Shenandoah Valley, with the campus quadrangle located on South Main Street in Harrisonburg.
Founded in 1908 as a women's college, James Madison University was established by the Virginia General Assembly. It was originally called The State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Harrisonburg. In 1914, the name of the university was changed to the State Normal School for Women at Harrisonburg. At first, academic offerings included only today's equivalent of technical training or junior college courses; however authorization to award bachelor's degrees was granted in 1916. During this initial period of development, the campus plan was established and six buildings were constructed.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.
Royal Tailor is an American Christian pop rock band.
Royal Tailor was started by Tauren Wells, DJ Cox and Blake Hubbard while they were attending Indiana Bible College. Jarrod Ingram later joined.
After hearing Royal Tailor's music, Leeland and Jack Mooring passed along the band's EP to Jason McArthur, Vice President of A&R of Provident Music Group, who signed them to a record deal. Producers Aaron Lindsey, Chuck Butler and Daniel Kinner produced their debut album, Black & White, which was released on June 7, 2011. It received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for the 54th Grammy Awards.
In 2013, they released their self-titled album that included "Ready Set Go" (featuring Capital Kings) as its single. The album made it to No. 95 on the Billboard 200, No. 3 US Christian Albums, and No. 17 US Independent Album.

People have been striving to unlock the mysteries of the stars above us since since the dawn of civilization. It is that singular fascination with our night sky, that has taken mankind to the moon and back, and given us the technology to see far into our solar system’s past. In this month’s things to do, places to go segment, one of the more interesting ways to study the cosmic sciences, is to visit your local planetarium. Here in the Shenandoah Valley we are lucky to have a couple of those right in our own back yard. We recently stopped by the John C. Wells planetarium at James Madison University, for an amazing journey into our own starry night.

Chicago blues icon Junior Wells performed at the Fox Valley Blues Society's "Blues on The Fox" festival in Aurora, IL in June of 1997. Shortly before he was scheduled to go onstage, he agreed to a brief, impromptu interview in the Sky Room of the former Leland Hotel in Aurora, site of numerous recording sessions by blues greats such as Wells early influence John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson in the late 1930s and early '40s. Several weeks after the festival, Wells was diagnosed with cancer and ceased public appearances; he died in January of the following year. The entire interview is around 13:00 minutes long, so I've split it up into two parts in order to meet youtube's 10:00 maximum length requirement.

A quality debate between individuals who are well-qualified to discuss the issues of evolution and accompanying assumptions in school curriculums. Dr. Stephen Palumbi is a Harvard biology professor who seems to be much more intellectual and respectful than Richard Dawkins in his arguments against the inclusion of intelligent design in the school curriculum. And Dr. Jonathan Wells, is one of the most intelligent and transparent Intelligent design advocate I ever knew. In this debate, you will see that there are things in common, as well as differences between the debaters. It is essential to note all of them and evaluate each of their arguments carefully without bias. A good departure from the substanceless debates with New Atheists, who uses more strawmans and ad hominems than actual i...
