The exact shape of the show is unknown and it’s not clear if the Russos will helm the pilot, as they are currently knee deep in Avengers: Infinity War, but they are collaborating with writer Frank Baldwin on adapting the 1979 cult classic for TV. Last week Lionsgate acquired Starz in a stock and cash deal for 4.4 Billion dollars, something the two media giants had been teasing for about a year. Starz brings to Lionsgate a collection of 17 Starz- and Encore-branded premium channels. It also owns the Anchor Bay Entertainment home video distribution banner, which has handled Weinstein Co. film releases among other third-party content. Lionsgate’s library of film and TV series will surely offer a boost to the schedules of the Starz and Encore channels, beyond the flagship Starz network. It was reported by multiple outlets that Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of Lost in Space. The streaming service optioned the rights back in November to the series which originally aired for 3 seasons and 83 episodes starting in 1965. This is a project a long time in the making. Variations of a reboot have been in development in different forms including a telefilm at NBC that ended when original star Jonathan Ames died, a pilot at The WB directed by John Woo that never went to series and who could forget the 1998 film starring William Hurt, Matt LeBlanc and Gary Oldman that was critically panned. All of that has led to this Netflix deal. Superhero Rundown Tom Felton, best known as playing Harry Potter’s foil Draco Malfoy, is joining the Flash as a series regular for season 3, which sees Barry Allen entering into the Flashpoint paradox. Felton will play Julian Dorn, a fellow CSI at the Central City Police Department who suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation. While appearing at Heroes and Villains fest in New Jersey, Stephen Amell announced that former WWE star, Cody Rhodes aka super villain Goldust, will be a guest star in season 5 of the CW show. Arrow returns in October for a new season which will bring, among others, DC Comics superheroes Vigilante and Wild Dog to the small screen for the first time in live action.
