New animations look OOP players look "silly" Less cheating in DD New infield dirt is already in the game in Toronto New dive animations make more realistic grabs on hard hits. Each dive requires diff throw animations too Better fielding attributes = better route to ball More routes are in the game too. Steeper angles, turns, pursuit to ball. More exciting plays Human IK has been added. Smoother transitions like as a pitcher releases ball to next animation, like covering 1B You won't see a pitcher's feet sliding around in between pitch and hit = smoother Secondary positions like SS playing 2B = still will make plays. Catcher moved to 2B = not as good animations Run styles are only cosmetic, you can still have a high speed attribute even with lumbering style runner New default leadoff at 1B, new pick off moves allow for quicker turn/pickoffs Bunting, Steals & Tags have been re-worked this year. A lot of problems have been addressed from '15 Online issues are "resolved" = less cheesers Big difference now between bunting difficulty, especially for hitters not good at it You can stare down the lead runners, won't cause benches to clear. Pre-loading a throw is important There is a window of opportunity to get great animation, might miss and then the runner will be safe Quick Counts are still in the game You can have 99 speed with a lumbering run style Some runners don't run hard to 1B like David Ortiz, then you see casual-type throws from defense Coaching Personalities are new this year, AL will be aggressive and NL will be conservative For Example, Atlanta might bunt in the 5th after lead runner gets on, positional alignments will show up too You get to SWITCH pitch with Pat Venditte in this year's game. 20 unique personalities for Umpires this year. 2 of them are accuracy type & bias type. Accuracy type could be 100% on making calls, bias could be low strikes in the zone OR accuracy is not accurate to left side & bias type = high balls. Analog stride swing NOT in the game yet, But they are planning to add it this year, but make not make it in. Umpires are fictional with the 20 personalities Players can lose the balls in the sun Added logic and moves for trailing defender for cut-offs Devs stressing this is NOT an Arcade Baseball Game Players will transition into animation for faster throws on pop-ups. Big deal b/c you won't see delays while opponent takes home Stealing and pick-off system is completely rewritten. 80 speed is not an automatic steal.
