Three years ago today
I've opened up this channel, so to celebrate it, how about my first trip report?
So you are probably asking me "shouldn't you be flying
Southwest?", well not this time. My father normally books me these tickets for me on nonstop flights but since he figured about me planning a daytrip to fly the AirTran 717's one last time, he got a little mad about that but to make it up for me, he allowed me to pick out any flights I wanted on my next trip to
Florida as long as they fit the budget.
And I have been getting sick of flying
737's all the time as my past 10 to 15 or so flights before this report were on 737's. Well a huge sigh of relief can be made because that streak is over:
Both flights were on
MD-90's so I've named this "
The Delta MD-90"
Experience" considering that I've never been on an MD-90 in my life. And this trip from MKE-ATL-PBI had two of them! So sit back, relax, and enjoy a perspective from me from towards the front of the aircraft and also the back of the aircraft! Normally I like sitting by engines but I wanted to see how quiet the MD-90 can be more towards the front so for the second flight thats what I did. The engine had more of of a roar on takeoff on that one though but still I got something on my first flight. This will also feature some elevators along with the plane train in the
ATL airport since it was too dark to see any planes there. No trip report involving ATL isn't complete without the plane train!
Overall these flights were so much better than what I expected! I prefer this so much more over a
757 or a 737. I haven't flown an Airbus in a while so I wouldn't know what to expect from those. And I still haven't flown a
Delta 717 yet but I heard they have the same seats on those as they do on these. If you have a chance to fly an MD-90 I'd take it if
I were you!

FACT: N927DN actually had an incident back in
2013 on a route from
MSP where there was smoke coming from one of the engines. It was kind of cool to fly on an aircraft that had been involved in an incident. Not to be confused with N927DA as that was also involved in an incident.
What would've happened if I flew Southwest?
Normally I fly Southwest to
FLL/PBI nonstop but this time fares weren't looking pretty for me and were pretty pricy especially on the returning portion. But I missed out on some opportunities.
On the way out I would've flown on one of the former AirTran
737-700's and on the way back I could've flown on a brand new
Boeing 737-800 in the new heart livery.
Flying my first MD-90 was a better opportunity than flying on two 737's again though.
