A tribute to Tony Curtis (1925-2010) and Janet Leigh (1927-2004), set to Astrud Gilberto's "Far Away". Curtis and Leigh were one of Hollywood's golden couples, along with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, but like the others mentioned, there were problems behind the picture-perfect image. They costarred in six films together ("Houdini", "The Vikings", "The Black Shield Of Falworth", "The Perfect Furlough", "Who Was That Lady?" and "Pepe"). Their marriage lasted for eleven years and produced two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. No doubt the stress of their careers, homelife, keeping up their images and Tony's wandering eye took their toll. They both remarried, but, hopeless romantic that I am, I like to think that there was a part of their hearts that was reserved for each other. Since Janet passed first, the song seemed to work well both with the fact that she passed on and the fact that their marriage fell apart. Now Tony has joined her. Again, effects were fun to experiment with. Enjoy!

Janet Leigh (born Jeanette Helen Morrison; July 6, 1927 – October 3, 2004) was an American actress. She was the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Discovered by actress Norma Shearer, Leigh secured a contract with MGM and began her film career in 1947. She appeared in several popular films over the following decade, including Little Women (1949), Holiday Affair (1949), Angels in the Outfield (1951), and Living It Up (1954).
In 1951, she married actor Tony Curtis, her third husband, with whom she co-starred in five films, including Houdini (1953), The Black Shield of Falworth (1954), and The Perfect Furlough (1958). During the latter half of the 1950s, she played mostly dramatic roles in such films as Safari (1955), Touch of Evil (1958) and Psycho (1960), for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She continued to appear occasionally in films and television, including The Manchurian Candidate (1962) and two films with her daughter Jamie Lee Curtis: The Fog (1980) and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998).

Richard Wayne "Dick" Van Dyke (born December 13, 1925) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer with a career spanning six decades. He is the older brother of Jerry Van Dyke and father of Barry Van Dyke. Van Dyke starred in the films Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and in the TV series The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis: Murder. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7021 Hollywood Blvd.
Van Dyke was born in West Plains, Missouri, to Loren (nickname "Cookie") and Hazel (born McCord) Van Dyke, but he grew up in Danville, Illinois. He is the older brother of actor Jerry Van Dyke, who is best known for his role on the TV series Coach. His grandson, Shane Van Dyke, is also an actor, and directed Titanic II. He is of Dutch descent on his father's side, and his mother was a descendant of Mayflower passenger Peter Browne from England.

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, KBE (13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980) was an English film director and producer. He pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. After a successful career in British cinema in both silent films and early talkies, Hitchcock moved to Hollywood. On 19 April 1955, he became an American citizen while remaining a British subject.
Over a career spanning more than half a century, Hitchcock fashioned for himself a distinctive and recognisable directorial style. He pioneered the use of a camera made to move in a way that mimics a person's gaze, forcing viewers to engage in a form of voyeurism. He framed shots to maximise anxiety, fear, or empathy, and used innovative film editing. His stories frequently feature fugitives on the run from the law alongside "icy blonde" female characters. Many of Hitchcock's films have twist endings and thrilling plots featuring depictions of violence, murder, and crime, although many of the mysteries function as decoys or "MacGuffins" meant only to serve thematic elements in the film and the extremely complex psychological examinations of the characters. Hitchcock's films also borrow many themes from psychoanalysis and feature strong sexual undertones. Through his cameo appearances in his own films, interviews, film trailers, and the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents, he became a cultural icon. Hitchocks reputation as a filmmaker is offset by claims that he engaged in obsessive and controlling behaviour towards many of his leading ladies, and that in some cases this extended to physical abuse and sexual harrassment.

Their marriage lasted for eleven years and produced two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. No doubt the stress of their careers, homelife, keeping up their images and Tony's wandering eye took their toll. They both remarried, but, hopeless romantic that I am, I like to think that there was a part of their hearts that was reserved for each other. Since Janet passed first, the song seemed to work well both with the fact that she passed on and the fact that their marriage fell apart. Now Tony has joined her. Again, effects were fun to experiment with. Enjoy!

A tribute to Tony Curtis (1925-2010) and Janet Leigh (1927-2004), set to Astrud Gilberto's "Far Away". Curtis and Leigh were one of Hollywood's golden couples, along with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, but like the others mentioned, there were problems behind the picture-perfect image. They costarred in six films together ("Houdini", "The Vikings", "The Black Shield Of Falworth", "The Perfect Furlough", "Who Was That Lady?" and "Pepe"). Their marriage lasted for eleven years and produced two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. No doubt the stress of their careers, homelife, keeping up their images and Tony's wandering eye took their toll. They both remarried, but, hopeless romantic that I am, I like to think that there was a part of their hearts that was reserved for each other. Since Janet passed first, the song seemed to work well both with the fact that she passed on and the fact that their marriage fell apart. Now Tony has joined her. Again, effects were fun to experiment with. Enjoy!

Jeanette Helen Morrison (July 6, 1927 -- October 3, 2004), known professionally as Janet Leigh, was an American actress and author. She is best remembered for her performance in Psycho (1960), for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and received an Academy Award nomination. By her marriage to actor Tony Curtis, she was the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis.
Discovered by actress Norma Shearer, Leigh secured a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and made her film debut with a starring role in The Romance of Rosy Ridge in 1947. Over the following years, she appeared in several popular films of a wide variety of genres, including Act of Violence (1948), Little Women (1949), Holiday Affair (1949), Angels in the Outfield (1951), Scaramouche (1952), The Naked Spur (1953), Walking My Baby Back Home (1953) and Living It Up (1954).
After two brief marriages at an early age, Leigh married actor Tony Curtis in 1951. During their high-profile marriage, the couple starred in five films together: Houdini (1953), The Black Shield of Falworth (1954), The Vikings (1958), The Perfect Furlough (1958) and Who Was That Lady? She is best remembered for her performance in Psycho (1960), for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and received an Academy Award nomination. By her marriage to actor Tony Curtis, she was the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis.
Discovered by actress Norma Shearer, Leigh secured a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and made her film debut with a starring role in The Romance of Rosy Ridge in 1947. Over the following years, she appeared in several popular films of a wide variety of genres, including Act of Violence (1948), Little Women (1949), Holiday Affair (1949), Angels in the Outfield (1951), Scaramouche (1952), The Naked Spur (1953), Walking My Baby Back Home (1953) and Living It Up (1954).
After two brief marriages at an early age, Leigh married actor Tony Curtis in 1951. During their high-profile marriage, the couple starred in five films together: Houdini (1953), The Black Shield of Falworth (1954), The Vikings (1958), The Perfect Furlough (1958) and Who Was That Lady? Margaret O'Brien (born January 15, 1937) is an American film and stage actress. Although her film career as a leading character was brief, she was one of the most popular child actors in cinema history. In her later career, she appeared on stage and in supporting film roles.
She was born Angela Maxine O'Brien; her name was later changed to Margaret following the success of the film Journey for Margaret, in which she played the title role. Her father Lawrence O'Brien, a circus performer, died before she was born.[1] O'Brien's mother, Gladys Flores, was a well-known flamenco dancer who often performed with her sister Marissa, also a dancer. O'Brien is of half-Irish and half-Spanish ancestry.
She made her first film appearance in Babes on Broadway (1941) at the age of four, but it was the following year that her first major role brought her widespread attention. As a five-year-old in Journey for Margaret (1942), O'Brien won wide praise for her convincing acting style. By 1943, she was considered a big enough star to have a cameo appearance in the all-star military show finale of Thousands Cheer.
She played a young French girl, and spoke and sang all her dialogue with a French accent, in Jane Eyre (1944). Arguably her most memorable role was as "Tootie" in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), opposite Judy Garland. O'Brien had by this time added singing and dancing to her achievements and was rewarded with an Academy Juvenile Award the following year as the "outstanding child actress of 1944." Her other successes included The Canterville Ghost (1944), Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945), and the first sound version of The Secret Garden (1949), but she was unable to make the transition to adult roles.
A 1946 Looney Tunes short, Book Revue, placed a caricature of O'Brien in the role of Little Red Riding Hood.
O'Brien later shed her child star image in 1958 by appearing on the cover of Life Magazine with the caption "The Girl's Grown", and was a mystery guest on the TV panel show What's My Line?. O'Brien's acting roles as an adult have been few and far between, mostly in small independent films. However, she does do occasional interviews, mostly for the Turner Classic Movies cable network. She played the role of Betsy Stauffer, a small town nurse, in "The Incident of the Town in Terror" on television's Rawhide. Another rare television outing was as a guest star on the popular Marcus Welby, M.D. in the early 1970s, reuniting O'Brien with her Journey For Margaret and The Canterville Ghost co-star Robert Young.
O'Brien has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Motion Pictures at 6608 Hollywood Boulevard, and for television at 1620 Vine St. In 2006, she was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the SunDeis Film Festival at Brandeis University.

O'Brien had by this time added singing and dancing to her achievements and was rewarded with an Academy Juvenile Award the following year as the "outstanding child actress of 1944." Her other successes included The Canterville Ghost (1944), Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945), and the first sound version of The Secret Garden (1949), but she was unable to make the transition to adult roles.
A 1946 Looney Tunes short, Book Revue, placed a caricature of O'Brien in the role of Little Red Riding Hood.
O'Brien later shed her child star image in 1958 by appearing on the cover of Life Magazine with the caption "The Girl's Grown", and was a mystery guest on the TV panel show What's My Line?. O'Brien's acting roles as an adult have been few and far between, mostly in small independent films. However, she does do occasional interviews, mostly for the Turner Classic Movies cable network. She played the role of Betsy Stauffer, a small town nurse, in "The Incident of the Town in Terror" on television's Rawhide. Another rare television outing was as a guest star on the popular Marcus Welby, M.D. in the early 1970s, reuniting O'Brien with her Journey For Margaret and The Canterville Ghost co-star Robert Young.
O'Brien has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Motion Pictures at 6608 Hollywood Boulevard, and for television at 1620 Vine St. In 2006, she was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the SunDeis Film Festival at Brandeis University.

Whether it was a Russ Meyer nudie, or a Herschell Gordon Lewis gorefest, low-budget directors working outside of Hollywood could always count on getting more bang for their buck if their starlets were buck naked. And if their villains wielded a butcher knife ... Or snuff films even ... Never really showed the knife cutting into Janet Leigh's flesh ... 1 ... 2....
