Taglines: This city is afraid of me. I've seen its true face. Who will save us now? (DVD tagline) Justice is coming to all of us. No matter what we do. The existence of life is a highly overrated phenomenon. I am used to going out at 3am and doing something stupid. We were supposed to make the world a better place. We're society's only protection. A world at peace. There had to be sacrifice. Who watches the Watchmen?
Quotes:
[after the intruder kicks the door open]::Edward Blake: Just a matter of time, I suppose.
Adrian Veidt: We can do so much more. We can save this world... with the right leadership.
Adrian Veidt: The only person with whom I felt any kinship with died three hundred years before the birth of Christ. Alexander of Macedonia, or Alexander the Great, as you know him.
Adrian Veidt: His vision of a united world... well, it was unprecedented. I wanted... *needed* to match his accomplishments, and so I resolved to apply antiquity's teaching to our world, *today*. And so began my path to conquest. Conquest not of men, but of the evils that beset them.
Adrian Veidt: What, in life, does not deserve celebrating?
Edward Blake: God damn I love working on American soil, Dan. Ain't had this much fun since Woodward and Bernstein.::Dan Dreiberg: How long can we keep this up?::Edward Blake: Congress is pushing through some new bill that's gonna outlaw masks. Our days are numbered. Till then it's like you always say, we're society's only protection.::Dan Dreiberg: From what?::Edward Blake: You kidding me? From themselves.
Rorschach: Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon. That's always been the difference between us, Daniel.
Laurie Juspeczyk: I am not afraid.
Rorschach: We need to squeeze people.::Dan Dreiberg: [sarcastic] Sure. We'll pick them out of a phone book.::Rorschach: You forgot how we do things, Daniel. You've gotten too soft. Too trusting. Especially with women.::Dan Dreiberg: No, listen, I am through with that! God, who do you think you are, Rorschach? You live off people while insulting them and nobody complains because they think you're a goddamn lunatic!::Dan Dreiberg: [Rorschach approaches Dan, who sighs and turns to him] I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that, man.::Rorschach: Daniel? You are a good friend.::[extends his hand and Dan takes it]
Adrian Veidt: It doesn't take a genius to see that the world has problems.::Edward Blake: No, but it takes a room full of morons to think they're small enough for you to handle.

One of them is Kristen, who has the power to draw other people into her dreams. Working with a male doctor assigned to the case, Nancy helps the kids realize their special abilities within the nightmare world. When Freddy captures one of her charges, she leads a rescue attempt into Krueger's domain, in hopes of putting his spirit to rest once and for all.

Genres:

Thriller,
Taglines: Freddy's just around the corner... If you think you'll get out alive, You must be dreaming. If You Think You're Ready For Freddy, Think Again!
Quotes:
Taryn: In my dreams I'm beautiful.::[flicks open two switchblades]::Taryn: And bad!
Freddy Krueger: Will, you look tired. Have a seat.::Will Stanton: No thanks. I'm fine just the way I am.::Freddy Krueger: For now, maybe... but when you wake up... It's back... in the saddle... again.
Nancy Thompson: It's now or never. I'm not gonna kid you, this is as dangerous as it gets. If you die in this dream it's for real. Nobody has to go in that doesn't want to.
Nancy Thompson: Daddy?::Thompson: I've crossed over, princess.::Nancy Thompson: Crossed over?::Thompson: I couldn't go without telling you how sorry I am for all the things I've done. I love you so much. I'll always love you.::Nancy Thompson: [hugs him] I'll always love you.::[Thompson turns into Freddy and stabs Nancy in her stomach]::Freddy Krueger: DIE.
Kristen Parker: Five, six, grab a crucifix. Seven, eight, better stay up late. Nine, ten, never... never...::Nancy Thompson: Never sleep again. Where did you learn that rhyme?
Nancy Thompson: I used to live in this house.::Kristen Parker: That's just a house I dream about.
Kristen Parker: The man in my dreams... he's real, isn't he?::Nancy Thompson: He's real.
[while fighting with Dr. Simms]::Kristen Parker: You stupid bitch, you're killing us... YOU'RE KILLING US.
Freddy Krueger: I said, "Where's the fucking bourbon?"::[decapitates mom]::Freddy Krueger: You should listen to your mother.::Elaine Parker: God damn it, Kristen, you ruin everything! Every time I bring a man home you spoil it! You know what your shrink says? You're just trying to get a little attention!
Dr. Elizabeth Simms: I'm not going to take any more of this. How much longer are you going to go on blaming your dreams for your own weaknesses?::Roland Kincaid: Lady, how much longer you gonna keep blowin' smoke up our ass?::Dr. Neil Gordon: That's enough, Kincaid!::Simms: There will be no repeat occurrences of last night's events. From now on your doors will be locked during sleeping hours. We'll start a policy of evening sedation for everybody.::Kincaid: [Jumping out of his seat] The fuck you will! Anybody tries drugs on me gets his ass kicked!::Simms: Well, you just bought yourself a night in the quite room, Mister. Now sit down!::Kincaid: Fuck you! You sit down!

Dick Cavett with Alec Baldwin: Brief Encounters
Nov 4, 2014
Dick Cavett and Alec Baldwin have both acted, written books and hosted talk shows. Cavett’s latest book, Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic Moments, and Assorted Hijinks, shares his reflections and reminiscences about Hollywood legends, American cultural icons and the absurdities of everyday life. He offers piquant commentary on contemporary politics, the indignities of travel, the nature of comedy writing and the utter improbability of being alive at all. Who better to be in conversation with the legendary Cavett than the one and only Alec Baldwin?

After a total of 74 concerts, David Bowie's Diamond Dogs/Philly Dogs Soul Tour closed in Atlanta on 1st December 1974. three days later on the 4th December, Dick Cavett's Wide World Of Entertainment screened this pre-recorded appearance of David Bowie that had been taped in New York on 2nd November while Bowie was there for his Radio City Music Hall shows. During the Dick Cavett Show, Bowie and his band gave excellent performances of '1984', 'Young Americans' and 'Footstompin'. Another song 'Can You Hear Me?' was not televised, due to broadcast time limitations.
During the interview with Cavett, Bowie's exhausted physical and mental state was all too painfully obvious. He fended off Cavett's questions with hostile and garbled answers, whilst at the same time flirting and pouting his lips. He was described as being like a caged tiger moving from side to side. During this interview, Bowie sniffed obsessively due to his cocaine addiction at the time, and jabbed at the carpet with a walking cane. Incidentally, the walking cane was not used as a stage prop (as Bowie then claimed) but to support his weak frame. Yet during his performances of the songs, Bowie came to life like a creation of Frankenstien.

Here's Judy...not in the best physical shape, but her wit completely intact. She's so quick you sometimes miss the funny things she's saying. About 10 minutes in, she tells a hilarious story about submissions from a amateur songwriter.
This was Cavett's brief 1968 ABC daytime show before his late-night show. When this one aired, it had already been canceled and this was among the last few installments, hence the reference to the curtains Judy admires being "available" soon.
This seems to have been taped off the air in 1968 using very primitive technology. The audio portion gets "scratchy" on occasion because the broadcast signal, probably on a TV set using rabbit ears, was being distorted.
Poor Judy was on her last legs, worn down by the business end of "the biz", as she calls it.
