Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

When you use Private Browsing, you can visit sites without creating history.

Private Browsing protects your private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari won't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.

Turn on Private Browsing

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open Safari, then tap Pages icon. Tap Private to turn private browsing on. While Private Browsing is on, Safari appears black or dark instead of white or gray.
