Filmed with superb camera work and pristine sound, 14 complete performances and 4 bonus performances are included by Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters, Lonnie Johnson, Big Joe Williams, Lightnin' Hopkins, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Howlin' Wolf, Big Joe Turner, Junior Wells, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Between 1963 and 1966 huge British tours were undertaken by the likes of Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf, and Junior Wells. This release in the American Folk-Blues Festivals gathers footage from these tours, providing an amazing document of a historic time.

Brandi Carlile (born June 1, 1981) is an American alternative country and folk rock singer-songwriter Her 2007 album The Story was produced by T-Bone Burnett.
Carlile is best known for the eponymous song from the The Story album. "The Story", the song, was used in a General Motors television commercial aired on American and Canadian television showcasing the car company's new line-up of more fuel-efficient cars. Due to the ad airing heavily during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the song increased in downloads. The song was also used in the 2008 commercial for Super Bock, the most popular beer in Portugal, which led to the song reaching number 1 and the album The Story reaching number 4 on the Portuguese charts. "The Story" was also used in a montage of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno during the opening and closing of the Ohio State-Penn State football game on ABC on October 25, 2008, and was also used in a 2010 Tracker television commercial that aired on South African television. "The Story" is currently being used on Connecticut Channel 3 during promotions for the local news. Aside from "The Story" (specifically the cover version by Sara Ramirez), two other Carlile songs (this time from her third album titled Give Up the Ghost) were used for two more episodes of the TV series Grey's Anatomy.

James William "Jimmy" Buffett (born December 25, 1946) is an American singer–songwriter, film producer, businessman, and author. He is best known for his music, which often portrays an "island escapism" lifestyle. Together with his Coral Reefer Band, Buffett has recorded hit songs including "Margaritaville" (ranked 234th on the Recording Industry Association of America's list of "Songs of the Century"), and "Come Monday". He has a devoted base of fans known as "Parrotheads".
Aside from his career in music, Buffett is also a best-selling writer and is involved in two restaurant chains named after two of his best known songs, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville". He owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant concept with OSI Restaurant Partners (parent of Outback Steakhouse), which operates the chain under a licensing agreement with Buffett.
Buffett spent part of his childhood in Mobile, Alabama. In grade school years, he attended St. Ignatius School, where he played the trombone in the school band. He later lived in Fairhope, Alabama, mentioned by himself as his "Home Town" during a 2001 concert. He graduated high school from McGill Institute for Boys (now McGill-Toolen Catholic High School) in 1964. He began playing guitar during his college years at Pearl River Community College, The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Auburn University where he received a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1969. He was initiated into the fraternity Kappa Sigma (ΚΣ) at the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating from college, Buffett worked as a correspondent for Billboard magazine in Nashville, breaking the news of the separation of Flatt and Scruggs.

Highlights from the 2015 Philadelphia Folk Festival. The weather was perfect and the acts were awesome! The event lasts 3 days and there is so much to see and do that you should try to do all days. There are plenty of local acts along with national performers. You never know who is going to show up and play at the fest.

Loren has performed alongside artists including Vika and Linda Bull, Tinpan Orange, Harry James Angus, Archie Roach, Mama Kin, Eric Bogle and international songwriters Kristina Olsen, Enda Kenny and Steve Poltz. After a successful crowd funding campaign where over $16,000 was raised in 3 months from more than 220 fans, Loren recorded her third album ‘Moving On’ with producer, Paul McKercher (Augie March, Pete Murray, You am I, Sarah Blasko) in September 2013 and toured the country, delighting audiences with her heart-warming and intimate storytelling-style.
The success of ‘Moving On’ includes extensive airplay on ABC Radio National’s ‘Inside Sleeve’ with Robbie Buck ,Triple J’s ‘Roots n’ All’ with Sarah Howells and a number one chart placement on AMRAP’s AirIT charts for 4 weeks running!
Most recently Loren won the 2014 Telstra Road to Discovery program, Australias most authentic grassroots talent development program for singer/songwriters. The win enabled Loren to record her new EP, 'Til Night Meets The Sun', produced by Glen Hannah and will also see her perform at The Americana Festival in Nashville this year.

MISSOURI OLD-TIME FIDDLERS: PETE MCMAHAN AND CHARLIE WALDEN
The traditional fiddle music of every place is special; tunes and techniques are passed from one generation to the next through careful Iistening and watching and imitation. Style is shaped by this process as it echoes master players. A master fiddler's stylistic influence may extend in time through several generations and to players who were not yet born when the master was playing.
No schools teach traditional fiddler's skills. Those who would become skilled at this complex art must have discerning ears, an enormous recall for melodies, good finger and hand dexterity, and a yen to practice for a couple of hours every day. But of course the couple of hours is not enough for the beginner; they need to spend full days and full weeks in practice!
Among those places with a very special fiddle sound is the central part of Missouri. Two of the finest traditional fiddlers in a wonderful "Show Me" state style are at this festival.
Born in 1918, Preston "Pete" McMahan grew up in rural Montgomery County where he heard fiddling at dances. He was much influenced by the playing of a local farmer, Clark Atterbury. Atterbury was an excellent dance player, and the steady rhythms needed for dance were learned by Pete at a very young age. Like most other traditional fiddlers, Pete has played at hundreds of dances.
Rural dancing has been declining for the past 30 years, but contests have been increasing in Missouri. These are not the same as the Western contest style events; Missouri fiddlers have their own ideas and rules. Pete was Missouri State Champion in 1980, 1981, 1982 and Missouri State Senior Fiddler in 1985. He has also won various regional and national first places. But what Pete likes best is sitting with two or three other fiddlers, passing fiddles and guitars back and forth until the coffeepot is dry and the wee hours have come.
Charlie Walden's life was changed when he was in his early teens and walked past the grand opening of a service station in Columbia, Missouri. Among the musicians performing for this auspicious occasion was Taylor McBaine, a brilliant player in a central Missouri style. Charlie found out where he lived and went visiting. There was no formal organization of fiddlers in Columbia then, but everyone who played knew everyone else and soon Charlie was a fullfledged member of the firm. Pete McMahan lives nearby too, and Charlie figured out the way to his house.
Now age 30, Charlie is president of the Missouri Old-Time Fiddlers Association, surely the most active and dedicated group of its kind. He is also one of the most respected fiddlers in a state notable among collectors and musicologists for its amazing variety of styles and for the sheer numbers of fine players it has. Missouri Ozarks master fiddler Bob Walsh has said of Walden, "I've never seen anyone pick up a tune as fast as Charlie." Charlie has some of the qualities the older fiddlers admire most, he acquired them in the same process that they did, and he is carrying them to another generation.

In 2005 Kukułeczka was incorporated as the Polish Dance Group Kukułeczka Inc.
Since 1994, Kukułeczka has participated in all of the national PolArt festivals, which are Polish visual and performing arts festivals held around Australia every three years. In 2012-13 Kukułeczka had the pleasure of being the local dance group hosts of PolArt 2012 Perth. The festival saw more than 500 dancers; visual and performance artists as well as musicians from across Australia and New Zealand arrive in Perth to showcase performances, entertainment and art to the Western Australian public.
Over the course of its history Kukułeczka has garnered a reputation for delivering strong, colourful and lively performances for the multicultural community. The group has regularly been invited to perform at many high-profile events such as Refugee Week, Harmony Day and Oz Concerts. The group has also travelled to Taiwan and Malaysia to represent Polish-Australian culture at international multicultural festivals.
Kukułeczka’s Artistic Directors, many having completed four-year choreography studies in Rzeszów, Poland, or similar, have exemplary knowledge of Polish folklore, customs and traditions which they try to reflect through dynamic and theatrical choreographies. Previous Artistic Directors include Monika Szunejko, Monika Dudek, Joasia Wydmanska, Melissa Lejman, Kasia Schmidt and Magdalena Dudek.
Ku·ku·łecz·ka noun – pronounced ku – ku (with a short ‘u’ as in ‘put’) – wech – ka
A Polish folk song and dance group in Perth which sees young people gather to nurture their heritage, rehearse for performances, sing, dance and just plain have fun!
Origin
Kukułeczka is a form of the Polish name for the common cuckoo bird, which can be often heard singing its characteristic cuckoo call, or spotted in the forests and meadows of Poland. The cuckoo bird is a key part of Polish folklore, with several well known songs dedicated to it.
Today
Kukułeczka is a thriving performance arts group with approximately 50 dancers, ranging from five to 30 years old. It has a large repertoire of dances including all five national dances (Polonez, Mazur, Krakowiak, Kujawiak and Oberek) as well as many regional and character dances such as the Polka.
The junior group’s repertoire includes children’s songs and dances from the Lachy Sądeckie, Lublin and Krakowiak regions. Its present Artistic Directors are Magdalena Dudek and Melissa Lejman. Kukułeczka rehearses weekly at the Cracovia Club in Bennett Springs and always has its doors open to new members.
