Anthony Dominick "Tony" Benedetto (born August 3, 1926), better known by his stage name Tony Bennett, is an American singer of traditional pop standards, big band, show tunes, and jazz. He is also a painter, having created works under the name Anthony Benedetto that are on permanent public display in several institutions. He is the founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, New York.
Born and raised in Astoria to an Italian-American family, Bennett began singing at an early age. He fought in the final stages of World War II as a U.S. Army infantryman in the European Theater. Afterward, he developed his singing technique, signed with Columbia Records and had his first number-one popular song with "Because of You" in 1951. Several top hits such as "Rags to Riches" followed in the early 1950s. He then refined his approach to encompass jazz singing. He reached an artistic peak in the late 1950s with albums such as The Beat of My Heart and Basie Swings, Bennett Sings. In 1962, Bennett recorded his signature song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". His career and his personal life experienced an extended downturn during the height of the rock music era.

"Here's That Rainy Day" is a popular song with music by Jimmy Van Heusen and lyrics by Johnny Burke, published in 1953. It was introduced by Dolores Gray in the Broadway musical Carnival in Flanders.
The song has been recorded by many jazz and pop singers, including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Stan Kenton Orchestra, June Christy, Rosemary Clooney, Perry Como, Vic Damone, Billy Eckstine, Ella Fitzgerald, Lou Rawls, Astrud Gilberto (with Stan Getz), Lena Horne, Phyllis Hyman, Jack Jones, Steve Lawrence, Peggy Lee, Kenny Rankin, Frank Sinatra, Kiri Te Kanawa, Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughan, Andy Williams and Nancy Wilson. It is also a favorite of jazz instrumentalists, with renditions by Joe Pass, Gene Ammons, Chet Baker, Ray Brown, Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond, Bill Evans, Art Farmer, Freddie Hubbard, Wes Montgomery, Art Pepper, Oscar Peterson, Toots Thielemans, Urbie Green, Alvin "Red" Tyler, L.A. Jazz Quintet and McCoy Tyner, among many others.
Frank Sinatra's version was recorded on March 25, 1959, for the Capitol album No One Cares, arranged and conducted by Gordon Jenkins. Sinatra performed it on a Timex-sponsored show entitled The Frank Sinatra Timex Show: An Afternoon With Frank Sinatra, broadcast on December 13, 1959, and on the Emmy-nominated Francis Albert Sinatra Does His Thing, broadcast on November 25, 1968. On November 18, 1973, he performed it on Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back, in a medley with "Last Night When We Were Young" and "Violets for Your Furs."
Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra (/sᵻˈnɑːtrə/; December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer, actor, producer, and director, who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. Sinatra's music has been considered timeless by many. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, to Italian immigrants, he began his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. He found success as a solo artist after being signed by Columbia Records in 1943, becoming the idol of the "bobby soxers". He released his first album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra, in 1946. Sinatra's professional career had stalled by the early 1950s, and he turned to Las Vegas, where he became one of its best known performers as part of the Rat Pack. His career was reborn in 1953 with the success of From Here to Eternity and his subsequent Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He signed with Capitol Records and released several critically lauded albums, including In the Wee Small Hours (1955), Songs for Swingin' Lovers! (1956), Come Fly with Me (1958), Only the Lonely (1958) and Nice 'n' Easy (1960).
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (/ˈstɛfəniː dʒɜːrməˈnɒtə/ STEF-ə-nee jur-mə-NOT-ə; born March 28, 1986), known professionally as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her self-empowering messages, fashion, and live performances. Gaga initially performed in theater, appearing in high school plays, and studied at CAP21 through New York University's Tisch School of the Arts before dropping out to pursue a musical career. After leaving a rock band, participating in the Lower East Side's avant garde performance art circuit, and being dropped from a contract with Def Jam Recordings, Gaga worked as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. There, recording artist Akon noticed her vocal abilities and helped her to sign a joint deal with Interscope Records and his own KonLive Distribution.
Her debut album The Fame (2008) was a critical and commercial success that produced global chart-topping singles such as "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". A follow-up EP, The Fame Monster (2009), was met with a similar reception and released the successful singles "Bad Romance", "Telephone", and "Alejandro". Her second full-length album Born This Way was released in 2011, topping the charts in more than 20 countries, including the United States, where it sold over one million copies in its first week. The album produced the number-one single "Born This Way". Her third album Artpop, released in 2013, topped the US charts and included the successful single "Applause". In 2014, Gaga released a collaborative jazz album with Tony Bennett titled Cheek to Cheek, which became her third consecutive number one in the United States. For her work in the television series American Horror Story: Hotel, Gaga won a Golden Globe Award in 2016.

The fabulous Tony Bennett sings his broadway hit song "If I Ruled The World" from the broadway production 'Pickwick'. Nobody had a vocal range like Tony Bennett particularly in his younger years as he performs this wonderful ballad in this clilp.
Tony Bennett was featured in an episode of Nick Jr.'s Wallykazam for the holiday special. I animation directed a team of 3 animators to create custom character animation around plate footage of Tony Bennett. One interesting challenge is the show as a distinct look, we worked against this and developed a new look to better integrate the characters into the scenes. We also had to re-render and lip-synch several shots before the custom footage. My main contributions were boarding the shot, directing the animation and compositing the final treatment. This was composite in After Effects and animated in Maya. The Blue Note Jazz Club just celebrated their 30th Anniversary and what better way to bring it in is to have seven-time Grammy Award winning jazz/R&B; vocalist Al Jarreau perform to a week of sold-out performances. Mr. Jarreau was backed by the legendary George Duke and his trio featuring Mike Manson, Esperanza Spaulding, and Terri Lyne Carrington. The performances were also on the heels of the new recording “Al Jarreau and the George Duke Trio, Live at The Half Note, Volume. 1,” the first of three vintage recordings that George recorded of them when they were both getting started in music when they performed in San Fransisco, California in the mid-1960’s. George had the material sitting in his closet for decades and decided to have Al listen to the material and gave the go ahead to release...

There was a man
Looked up to Heaven
And he said, “Lord, what good am I?
I feel so unimportant that it makes me want to cry.
What should I do, Lord? Please answer me.”
The Lord said, “Sure son, I’ll tell you what to be:
The best thing to be is a person.
Just a person who loves is fellow man.
The best thing to be is a person.
Just a person who does the best he can.”
The Lord said, “You can be a big man,
And I can tell you where to start.
Just let the world around you
Know the love that’s in your heart.”
The Lord said softly, “Listen to me.
There’s only one thing that I want you to be.
The one thing to be is a person.
Just a person who does the best he can.”
