10/16/13 - Before the House officially voted to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took one final jab at her Republican colleagues, bringing up the immense cost of the government shutdown and asking them at the end of the day if it was really worth raising all that cain about Obamacare. Pelosi railed against the "unnecessary shutdown" and after briefly thanking John Boehner for finally allowing a vote on the floor, brought up the cost of the shutdown: 24 billion dollars. That led Pelosi to ask an important question. "My colleagues, do you think that your recklessness was worth 24 billion dollars to our economy? This recklessness is a luxury the American people cannot afford." She admitted that the bill is not ideal, as the spending in th...

This is the full inteview from Meet the Press, Nov 17, 2013. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tries to negotiate her way through an interview with Democrat-friendly David Gregory on Meet the Press. Frequently ignoring questions and careening from one talking point to the next, she often leaving sentences unfinished and hanging as Lily Tomlin used to do on Laugh-In. Her response to Gregory's question about "We have to pass the bill so you can see what's in it" is just chaff -- word salad -- and a change of subject. Gregory doesn't press the issue (shocker).
