(19 Apr 2017) CELEBRITY STYLIST ON WORKING WITH JOHNNY DEPP: 'I LIKE A CHALLENGE' Hollywood relationships may come and go, but celebrity stylist Samantha McMillen tends to hang on to her clientele. McMillen, who was recently honored at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards, has worked with top client Johnny Depp for two decades. "Well I come from Armani PR. The whole '90s I was in PR at Armani and I got him in the first time he went to the Oscars and he was terrified. And I just tried to give him what he wanted. We made him the tux of his dreams, or whatever it was at the time, and he remembered me. So when I left, we met again, our paths crossed. It kind of was, I guess, synchronicity," she recalled. McMillen said Depp is very involved and opinionated when it comes to his style. "It's good. I like a challenge and I'm very much a part of kind of taking what he wishes and bringing it to him and that makes me happy," she added. McMillen's other clients include Colin Firth, Mark Wahlberg, Chris Hemsworth and Ashton Kutcher. "Amazing. He's a great collaborator," she said of Kutcher. "And you know I kind of collaborate with all my clients. I like to kind of look at my canvas and work together to create the look that makes them feel like themselves. So I have a great gift of having people that are fun to collaborate with." McMillen also works with actresses like Elle Fanning, Carey Mulligan and Evan Rachel Wood. She said styling men and women is "totally different." "I mean it's different and each individual is different, so they all have their ease and all have their difficulties and all have their fun and, you know, challenges."
