Chris Evans shares his wish list for a Captain America cameo and we’ve got it for you right now! When could we potentially see Captain America back on the big screen? If Chris Evans has any say about it, it could be sooner than you think. After the tremendous success of
Captain America: Civil War, fans of the series are no doubt already anticipating the return of Chris Evans, but when could we see him once again don the stars and stripes? Before we get started, just a quick spoiler alert if you haven’t seen
Civil War yet.
Okay, so there are currently no plans for a fourth Captain America film, but we do know he’ll be suiting up for the two part
Avengers: Infinity War that is set to arrive in theaters starting in 2018. Two years is a long time for our Cap fix though and in a recent interview with
MTV,
Evans hinted we may not have to wait quite that long. When asked which upcoming
Marvel movie he’d like to see Captain America show up in next, Evans was quick to say next year’s
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be fun, but did
point out that it’s quote, “very outer spacey” and since
Cap is more of an Earth-bound guy, it may not work. The movie he does think would work for Cap is next summer’s
Spider-Man: Homecoming saying quote, “Those are going to be fantastic, and I think
Tom [Holland]’s just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into.” Though Cap and Spidey were on opposite sides of
Marvel’s civil war, the pair did share a love for their hometowns and definitely earned each other’s respect, so seeing them reunite as allies instead of enemies would be a welcome one for fans.
Plus,
Robert Downey Jr is already set to reprise his role as “
Tony Stark” for the film, so why not add Chris Evans too? Of course, if you stuck around for the mid-credits scene in Civil War, you know there’s another hero’s solo film that lends itself nicely to a Captain America cameo
. In the scene, Evan’s “
Steve Rogers” is seen taking his
BFF “
Bucky” to be put in suspended animation until they can figure out a way to permanently remove his “
Winter Soldier” brainwashing. The facility where this is taking place is in
Black Panther’s homeland of Wakanda. When MTV asked Evans if he would like to be a part of 2018’s Black Panther movie, he responded by saying that over the course of several films he feels comfortable with the character and he’s happy to be a part of movie history with the shared universe that has been created. In whatever capacity Marvel decides they want to use Captain America, he’s willing to be there. Okay, so we now know which upcoming
Marvel movies Chris Evans wants to cameo in, but where would you like to see Captain America pop up next?
Does Spider-Man: Homecoming make the most sense or do you think they could figure out a way to get Cap into space for a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 appearance?
