Todd may refer to:
"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either openly or via sabotage.
The earliest recorded use[citation needed] of the term "the Man" in the American sense dates back to a letter written by a young Alexander Hamilton in September 1772, when he was 15. In a letter to his father James Hamilton, published in the Royal Dutch-American Gazette, he described the response of the Dutch governor of St. Croix to a hurricane that raked that island on August 31, 1772. "Our General has issued several very salutary and humane regulations and both in his publick and private measures, has shewn himself the Man." [dubious – discuss] In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
Sweeney Todd is a fictional character who first appeared as the murderer of the Victorian penny dreadful The String of Pearls (1846–1847) and he was later introduced as an antihero of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and its film adaptations. Claims that Sweeney Todd was a historical person are strongly disputed by scholars, although there are possible legendary prototypes.
In the original version of the tale, Todd is a barber who dispatches his victims by pulling a lever while they are in his barber chair, which makes them fall backward down a revolving trapdoor into the basement of his shop, generally causing them to break their necks or skulls. Just in case they are alive, he goes to the basement and "polishes them off" (slitting their throats with his straight razor). In some adaptations, the murdering process is reversed, with Todd slitting the throats of his customers before they are dispatched into the basement via the revolving trapdoor. After Todd has robbed his dead victims of their goods, Mrs. Lovett, his partner in crime (in some later versions, his friend and/or lover), assists him in disposing of the bodies by baking their flesh into meat pies, and selling them to the unsuspecting customers of her pie shop. Todd's barber shop is situated at 186 Fleet Street, London, next to St. Dunstan's church, and is connected to Mrs. Lovett's pie shop in nearby Bell Yard by means of an underground passage. In most versions of the story, he and Mrs. Lovett hire an unwitting orphan boy, Tobias Ragg, to serve the pies to customers.

Plot: A man tracks down and becomes friends with all the donors who got his wife's organs. Everything goes smoothly until he falls for the woman who got his wife's heart and his friends must help him move on. Chase Fannon is nearly suicidal after his pregnant wife Angel is killed by a drunk driver. His best friend tries to get him to move on and make new friends, but he keeps flashing back to memories of better times. At a preliminary hearing, the drunk driver gets off and Chase attacks him in the courtroom. Because of the attack, Chase has to undergo grief counseling. Worse than that, he has to pay off and apologize to the drunk driver who laughs in his face. Chase's old friends think he's doing well when he finishes the grief counseling course. His best friend is not quite conviced, so he invites Chase's three new friends to a party. One is an old codger, another is a mafia type, and the third friend is a beautiful retro-hippie chick named Ann. Chase seems fine and his relationship with the young woman starts to grow. Then, one by one, his new friends finds out that they all received organs from Angel. The two men are fine with the fact that Chase tracked them down and made friends, but Ann fell hard for him and has a harder time accepting the depth of his grief. Finally, it's Ann who fights hard to help him face the guilt he still has over Angel's death. In the end, the new and old friends help Chase move on to a new life.

Plot: This amusing, darkly comic tale follows CIA agent Jack McCall and a chimpanzee that he attempts to liberate from a testing lab. Named Clemens, the chimp has been trained in martial arts combat, as part of a program designed to turn the creatures into fearsome fighting machines. Naturally this leads to plenty of slapstick moments between Modine and the chimp, especially when they seek refuge in the home of a boy and his mother as the owners of the lab hotfoot it after the escaped primate.
