The Mazda MX-5, released as the Mazda MX-5 Miata /miˈɑːtə/ in North America and as the Eunos Roadster in Japan, is a lightweight two-seater roadster with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Manufactured by Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan, the model debuted in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. The MX-5 was conceived as a small roadster – with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements, while being technologically modern and reliable. The MX-5 is conceptually an evolution of small sports roadsters of the 1960s, such as the Triumph Spitfire, Datsun 2000, Alfa Romeo Spider, and particularly the Lotus Elan.
The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 (for the 1999 model year), the third generation (NC) model was launched in 2005 (for the 2006 model year), and a fourth generation (ND) was released in 2015 (for the 2016 model year). It continues to be the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history and by July 2014 over 940,000 MX-5s had been built and sold around the world. Production of the MX-5 fell by 2013 to below 14,000 units, due to the world finance crisis in 2008, and the pre-announcement in 2012 of the coming ND model.
Car Throttle is a British media platform company for car enthusiasts.
Founded in 2009 as a car blog by Adnan Ebrahim, the company has grown to become one of the largest car communities online and allows users to create content alongside featured editorial articles.
In July 2012, Car Throttle raised an undisclosed pre-seed round from London early-stage VC firm Passion Capital. In 2013, the company raised a further $550,000 from investors including Passion Capital, James Bromley (MailOnline) and Peter Read which allowed it to make its first editorial, video and engineering hires. In January 2015, Car Throttle closed a $1.6 million round led by Redalpine with participation from Blake Chandlee (Facebook's first international employee). Car Throttle is currently based in White Bear Yard, a coworking space in Clerkenwell, London for startup companies.
Car Throttle creates publishing tools to allow online car enthusiasts to share their opinions on cars and car culture. Described by TechCrunch as "Buzzfeed for cars", Car Throttle follows a similar model in producing content for its website aimed at distribution on social media platforms. Unlike Buzzfeed however, the website encourages and promotes user-generated content alongside editorial pieces, and has ambition to become "a platform, not simply a top-down publisher".
"Better Than" is a song by John Butler Trio from their fourth studio album, Grand National. Produced by John Butler and Mario Caldato Jr., it was released in the United States on 20 February 2007 as an online single, the third single in Australia and the first overseas single from the album.
The EP includes two previously unreleased tracks recorded in the Grand National sessions, and a special radio mix version of "Better Than" from US sound man, Chris Lord-Alge. To this day, the radio mix version still receives moderate airplay from adult alternative stations.
The EP debuted at number sixteen in the ARIA Singles Chart on 3 September 2007. "Better Than" was also popular in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2007 being voted at #4 and appearing on the compilation CD.
On 31 July 2007 the song was performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
An accompanying music video for "Better Than", which utilizes the "Chris Lord-Alge radio mix" has been released on YouTube on August 1, 2007. In this video, members of the John Butler Trio band perform the song while on animated posters and performing on various spots of the streets with various pedestrians and skateboarders going by. Throughout, 2 messages (which reiterate the lyrical content in the song itself) are shown in a style of graffiti saying "The best things in life...aren't things!" and "Art changes people... people change the world."
Head 2 Head was a sports quiz show that aired on ABC TV in Australia between 18 February and 9 December 2006 and broadcast on Saturday evenings initially at 6 pm, then at 5 pm. The show was hosted by Ashley Bradnam and produced by Nick Price.
The show format was for two contestants to answers sports trivia questions over four "quarters".
In the first quarter, competitors would answer ten general questions, all of which were either multiple choice or "true or false". One point was awarded for a correct answer and there was no penalty for an incorrect answer.
In the second quarter, competitors would answer up to twenty questions on a specialty topic in a maximum period of two minutes. The topics would be chosen by the contestants several weeks prior to the show. As with the first quarter, one point was awarded for a correct answer and there was no penalty for an incorrect answer.
The third quarter lasts two minutes and is a more traditional quiz show "buzzer round", again with general sports questions. One point is awarded for a correct answer but one point is now lost for an incorrect answer.

Mazda had their sights set on returning the MX-5 Miata back to its roots for the ND. With a 150 pound weight reduction, a torquey new engine, and a tight/lightweight feeling chassis, it looks as if Mazda achieved their goals and then some.
On this episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com), Jonny Lieberman heads to Scotland to get his hands on the latest iteration of Mazda’s famed and legendary roadster, the Miata. Motor Trend, having much to do with the creation of the first generation of this car, was particularly excited about covering this new model, considering the last generation model debuted nearly 10 years ago. The new Miata, featuring a 2.0l engine outputting 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, aims to accomplish what made the original Miata such a good car, but is it actually better than the first, second, and third generation cars? Stay tuned while Jonny finds out. Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend Youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to ma...
Mazda MX-5 RF hardtop: http://carbyr.uk/2m2Rb9h Watch our latest video: http://bit.ly/carbuyervideos The Mazda MX-5 RF is the hardtop version of the standard MX-5. But unlike the old MX-5 Roadster Coupe, the RF is more of a targa - with a folding roof panel that preserves the coupe profile when folded. It's no more practical than the standard MX-5, although it is quieter on the move. Power comes from a choice of 1.5 and 2.0-litre engines, with a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes. The Mazda MX-5 RF, stands for retractable fastback. Instead of making a retractable hardtop, Mazda has done something different with an almost Targa design hoping to make this car appeal to a wider audience. Still one of the best cars on the road to drive, the MX-5 RF has the same characteristics as the regular convertible but with a new look. Competitors to the Mazda MX-5 Miata are the Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS, Mazda Miata, Mazda MX-5, Hyundai Genesis coupe, Ford Mustang, Nissan 370Z, Volkswagen Golf GTI, GTI, VW GTI, Honda Civic Coupe, Honda Civic Si, Mini Cooper S and Subaru WRX, VW Beetle convertible, Mustang convertible, Porsche Boxster. Wondering if a Miata can beat a Hellcat? Then this Head 2 Head presented by Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com) is for you. This is an epic battle between two of the best sports cars on sale today. Yep, you read that correct: the Miata and 86 are real sports cars in the traditional sense, focusing on the driving experience rather than delivering outright speed. MOTOR TREND Senior Features Editors Jason Cammisa and Jonny Lieberman take to the backroads to decide whether the new Targa-topped, retractable hardtop Miata is more fun than the new, updated BRZ, err… FR-S… err… GT-86, err…86. Then, they head to the racetrack where they’re joined by SCCA Hall of Fame race car driver Randy Pobst. After he sets a lap time for each car, we see whether a 707hp Dodge Charger Hellcat can beat either of t...
