In 1976, he was awarded an Academy Award for The Omen.
This scene is filled with drama and the best air to air engagement ever filmed. No stinking CGI, just great camera work (not mine), flying, and great story.

It’s hard to imagine that any race car had a bigger international fan base in the 1970s and early ‘80s than did the legendary Blue Max, a Funny Car that captured the imagination of an entire generation of adrenaline junkies. When the late Harry Schmidt had a replica of a German military medal for valor emblazoned on the side of his race car, he could not have imagined what would ensue. Although the ‘Max’ was exceedingly popular from the day it first rolled to the starting line at the 1970 Winternationals, it didn’t really hit its stride until Raymond Beadle came on board in 1975, first as partner with Schmidt and later as sole owner and driver. In this episode of Legends: The Series, Season Three, “Waterbed Fred” Miller, D. Gantt and Dale Emery, the mechanical trio whose talents sent...
The Blue Max (1966) was an ambitious and epic score from a young Jerry Goldsmith. The World War I film focuses on an arrogant German infantryman named Bruno Stachel (George Peppard), turned fighter pilot who climbs the ranks for the coveted Blue Max medal, awarded for twenty enemy kills. It was written at a time when war film music contained the intelligence in compositional form and a memorable use of melody. Unfortunately, a majority of this incredible effort was a victim of editing and would be replaced in favour of sound effects. Goldsmith once commented that the director John Guillermin was non-responsive at the scoring sessions, saying Guillermin found the music too dissonant. Goldsmith said "I don't think Guillermin likes it. But what the hell. These are war scenes, and they show th...

George Peppard stars in this memorable World War One story as a German infantryman who becomes a flying ace and one of his country's top heroes. James Mason is the commanding general, and Ursula Andress is the general's unfaithful wife. Jeremy Kemp costars.

Jerry Goldsmith's rejected score for Alien Nation. This score was replaced with one by Curtis Sobel after it was decided that Goldsmith's score was "too weird", and also because the movie, which earlier in production was also gonna be called either Outer Heat, Future Tense or Spacecop, was heavily re-edited in order to be shorter and more faster paced film, and Goldsmith's score would't fit to the final re-edited version of the film and he also couldn't return to re-score it. Some of the tracks from this score are actually from deleted scenes from the film which were never released. Re-editing also caused for the release date to be pushed from summer of '88 to the October. I will say that although i prefer Sobel's replacement score, Goldsmith's still has few very solid tracks, mostly the ...

Blow me a kiss then blow me away
Take one in the face [Think about your life]
Take one in the eye [Think about your soul]
Take one in the mouth [Think about your savior]
Take one in the thigh [Are you ready to go]
So blow me a kiss cuz I'm lonely
Blow me a kiss cuz I'm afraid
