The Alabama Dept of Transportation (ALDOT) successfully used LumenRT on the highly acclaimed Mobile River Bridge project (http://www.mobileriverbridge.com).
The bridge will span the Mobile River near downtown Mobile with a minimum vertical clearance height of 215 feet making it the second highest clearance bridge in the United States -- just below the famed Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
LumenRT 2015 was utilized to create immersive 3D LiveCube™ visualizations of a 10 km square area of the proposed bridge and surrounding site area. The LiveCubes were constructed from a combination of Esri CityEngine, Bentley MicroStation, and Trimble Sketchup models along with VISSIM and Bentley Traffic vehicle animations.
In addition, the LiveCubes™ contained over 50,000 3D breeze animated trees, several hundred animated vehicles, wave-animated water and a full 3D atmosphere with moving clouds and haze.

The Poop Cruise Ship Sails Again: First Two Triumph Voyages Are Sold Out

During a very strong wind storm (70 mph gusts), Carnival Triumph broke free of its moorings in Mobile, AL at 1325 hrs Central 03 April 2013, and drifted across the Mobile River.
The other ship seen in video is the US Corps of Engineers trailer dredger ship "Wheeler".
You've seen many news stories and so won't post additional details. Suffice it to say, many stations have missed various details as to what happened.
Only one tug/push-boat got to the ship before the collision. Even with both anchors dropped and the tug going full throttle, it wasn't enough.
The stern damage, as shown on television news, was not from contact with the Wheeler ship but from scraping the dry-dock wing wall that was adjacent to its berth.

The ill-fated Carnival Triumph, a 900-foot cruise ship, tore loose from its mooring yesterday after winds of up to 60 mph blew through Mobile, Alabama. At roughly the same time, gusts sent two men inside a security guard shack into the water.
Witnesses said the ship, which was docked on the east side of Mobile river, slammed into nearby vessels after breaking free of its mooring lines. The cruise ship continued south until it came to rest alongside the Wheeler, a dredger run by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on the other side of the river. The Triumph suffered a 20-foot gash that ran from part of the hull to the right stern. Tugboats took the ship back to port hours later.
Though unrelated to the cruise ship, the same winds knocked a guard shack with two men inside into the water. One man, a 35-year-old, survived and was treated for mild hypothermia. A search is being conducted for his 64-year-old co-worker.
The cruise ship had been docked for repairs after an engine fire at sea in February. The incident left more than 3,000 passengers stranded in undesirable conditions for nearly a week.

The Mobile River is located in southern Alabama in the United States. Formed out of the confluence of the Tombigbee and Alabama rivers, the approximately 45-mile-long (72 km) river drains an area of 44,000 square miles (110,000 km2) of Alabama, with a watershed extending into Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee. Its drainage basin is the fourth-largest of primary stream drainage basins entirely in the United States. The river has historically provided the principal navigational access for Alabama. Since construction of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, it also provides an alternative route into the Ohio River watershed.
The Tombigbee and Alabama River join to form the Mobile River approximately 50 miles (80 km) north-northeast of Mobile, along the county line between Mobile and Baldwin counties. The combined stream flows south, in a winding course. Approximately 6 miles (10 km) downstream from the confluence, the channel of the river divides, with the Mobile flowing along the western channel. The Tensaw River, a bayou of the Mobile River, flows alongside to the east, separated from 2 to 5 miles (3 to 8 km) as they flow southward. The Mobile River flows through the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta and reaches Mobile Bay on the Gulf of Mexico just east of downtown Mobile.

The ill-fated Carnival Triumph, a 900-foot cruise ship, tore loose from its mooring yesterday after winds of up to 60 mph blew through Mobile, Alabama. At roughly the same time, gusts sent two men inside a security guard shack into the water.
Witnesses said the ship, which was docked on the east side of Mobile river, slammed into nearby vessels after breaking free of its mooring lines. The cruise ship continued south until it came to rest alongside the Wheeler, a dredger run by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on the other side of the river. The Triumph suffered a 20-foot gash that ran from part of the hull to the right stern. Tugboats took the ship back to port hours later.
Though unrelated to the cruise ship, the same winds knocked a guard shack with two men inside into the water. One man, a 35-year-old, survived and was treated for mild hypothermia. A search is being conducted for his 64-year-old co-worker.
The cruise ship had been docked for repairs after an engine fire at sea in February. The incident left more than 3,000 passengers stranded in undesirable conditions for nearly a week.

"It literally sounded like bombs going off around. The sky just lit up in orange and red," he said, "We could smell something in the air, we didn't know if it was gas or smoke." Waugh said he could feel the heat from the explosion and when he came back inside, his partner noticed he had what appeared to be black soot on his face.

Large numbers of breeding elephant herds make a spectacular view.
Warthog has made the campsite its home. Uninterested in human presence, they will carry on with their daily activities - gathering food, nursing their young, and playing around. Never approach them. They still remain wild and could be very dangerous.
Lion frequently visit the campsite. They won't harm you if you stay at your campsite and not wander around after dark. Always keep your tent zipped up and never sleep outside.
Due to the large concentration of game, the Chobe River Area is a paradise for predators. The Chobe lion is a good example thereof.

HISTORY AND CULTURE:
Kuala Lumpur was founded in 1857 by a member of the Selangor royal family, Raja Abdullah, who was the representative of the Yam Tuan who administered Klang. Together with Raja Jumaat of Lukut and 87 Chinese workers, he came to explore the district in search for tin ore. After travelling up the Klang River to reach its confluence with the Gombak River, they made their way through deep jungle and found tin near Ampang. That moment marked the beginning of KL's development. Over the years it grew from a tin miner's camp into a commercial centre that was able to attract large numbers of investors from around various places.
GETTING AROUND:
You'll never have a hard time hailing a cab in Kuala Lumpur with MYTEKSI. Just download the mobile app and get a taxi safely whenever you are. With just two taps, you're off to a day of sightseeing in the city. Kuala Lumpur has also a sophisticated network of trains and LRT which is accessible to everyone. For a faster route to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, ride a train at KL Sentral. You can even check in your flight and luggage with only a few clicks.
ATTRACTIONS:
One the Hinduism's most popular shrine of India is the Batu Caves. Be sure to check out Batu Caves during festivities but be warned by the monkeys that linger on the steps outside the caves.
Head over to Petaling Jaya for a day of nonstop jumping at Jumpstreet KL. The renovated warehouse showcases eight different trampoline attractions for guests of all ages.
Have a taste of Malaysia street food at Jalan Alor in Bukit Bintang. Try the wide variety of grilled food available at the 'BBQ Steamboat' or what the locals refer to as 'lok lok'.

Kuala Lumpur was founded in 1857 by a member of the Selangor royal family, Raja Abdullah, who was the representative of the Yam Tuan who administered Klang. Together with Raja Jumaat of Lukut and 87 Chinese workers, he came to explore the district in search for tin ore. After travelling up the Klang River to reach its confluence with the Gombak River, they made their way through deep jungle and found tin near Ampang. That moment marked the beginning of KL's development.
