Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellew
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.
Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring.
With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title…but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?
Directed by: Ryan Coogler
Produced by: Robert Chartoff, Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King Templeton and Sylvester Stallone
Executive Producer: Nicholas Stern
CREED WILL BE RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS IN 2016.

The Master Of Malignant Heroes
THE MODERN-DAY KARLOFF, FREE JAZZ, AND GONNA FLY NOW
Christopher Lee was the British actor who specialized in sinister villains. As part of the Hammer horror genre, he played Dracula, Fu Manchu, The Mummy and Frankenstein. Later in his career he played a Bond villain, and malefactors in the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings series. Ornette Coleman was the jazz saxophonist who created “free jazz”, a style that deviated from tradition chord structure, harmony, and rhythm. Robert Chartoff was the producer who produced Raging Bull but is best known for the Rocky series starring Sylvester Stallone.
Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, CBE, CStJ (27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015) was an English actor, singer, author, and World War II veteran. With a career spanning nearly 70 years, Lee initially portrayed villains and became best known for his role as Count Dracula in a sequence of Hammer Horror films. His other film roles include Francisco Scaramanga in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), Saruman in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003) and The Hobbit film trilogy (2012–2014), and Count Dooku in the final two films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy (2002 and 2005).
Lee was knighted for services to drama and charity in 2009, received the BAFTA Fellowship in 2011 and received the BFI Fellowship in 2013.[1] Lee considered his best performance to be that of Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the biopic Jinnah (1998), and his best film to be the British horror film The Wicker Man (1973).[2]
Always noted as an actor for his deep strong voice, Lee was also known for his singing ability, recording various opera and musical pieces between 1986 and 1998 and the symphonic metal album Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross in 2010 after having worked with several metal bands since 2005. The heavy metal follow-up titled Charlemagne: The Omens of Death was released on 27 May 2013.[3][4] He was honoured with the "Spirit of Metal" award at the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden God awards ceremony.
Lee's first film for Hammer was The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), in which he played Frankenstein's monster, with Peter Cushing as Baron Victor Frankenstein.[75] It was the first film in which Lee and Cushing were co-stars, and ultimately appeared together in over twenty films and became close friends.[2] When he arrived at a casting session for the film, "they asked me if I wanted the part, I said yes and that was that."[76] A little later, Lee co-starred with Boris Karloff in the film Corridors of Blood (1958), but Lee's own appearance as Frankenstein's monster led to his first appearance as the Transylvanian vampire in the film Dracula (1958, known as Horror of Dracula in the United States).[75] Lee accepted a similar role in an Italian-French horror picture called Uncle Was a Vampire (1959).
Lee returned to the role of Dracula in Hammer's Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1965).[75] Lee's role has no lines, he merely hisses his way through the film. Stories vary as to the reason for this: Lee states he refused to speak the poor dialogue he was given, but screenwriter Jimmy Sangster claims that the script did not contain any lines for the character. This film set the standard for most of the Dracula sequels in the sense that half the film's running time was spent on telling the story of Dracula's resurrection and the character's appearances were brief. Lee went on record to state that he was virtually "blackmailed" by Hammer into starring in the subsequent films; unable or unwilling to pay him his going rate, they would resort to reminding him of how many people he would put out of work if he did not take part.
“ The process went like this: The telephone would ring and my agent would say, "Jimmy Carreras [President of Hammer Films] has been on the phone, they've got another Dracula for you." And I would say, "Forget it! I don't want to do another one." I'd get a call from Jimmy Carreras, in a state of hysteria. "What's all this about?!" "Jim, I don't want to do it, and I don't have to do it." "No, you have to do it!" And I said, "Why?" He replied, "Because I've already sold it to the American distributor with you playing the part. Think of all the people you know so well, that you will put out of work!" Emotional blackmail. That's the only reason I did them.[77] ”

De la mano de Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures y New Line Cinema llega “Creed.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures y Warner Bros.

From Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema comes award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler’s “Creed.” The film explores a new chapter in the “Rocky” story and stars Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone in his iconic role. The film also reunites Coogler with his “Fruitvale Station” star Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed.
“Creed” also stars Tessa Thompson (“Selma,” “Dear White People”) as Bianca, a local singer-songwriter who becomes involved with Adonis; Phylicia Rashad (Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias”) as Mary Anne Creed, Apollo’s widow; and English pro boxer and former three-time ABA Heavyweight Champion Anthony Bellew as boxing champ “Pretty” Ricky Conlan.
Coogler directs from a screenplay he wrote with Aaron Covington, based on characters from the “Rocky” series written by Sylvester Stallone. The film is being produced by Robert Chartoff, Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King Templeton and Sylvester Stallone, with Nicholas Stern executive producing.
Joining Coogler behind the scenes are director of photography Maryse Alberti (“The Wrestler”) and costume designers Antoinette Messam (“Orphan”) and Emma Potts (“127 Hours”), as well as his “Fruitvale Station” team: editors Michael P. Shawver and Claudia Castello; production designer Hannah Beachler; and composer Ludwig Göransson.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures present, in association with New Line Cinema, a Chartoff Winkler Production, “Creed.” Opening on November 25, 2015, the film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, with select international territories as well as all television distribution being handled by MGM.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures e Warner Bros.

Today the American sports drama film Creed is premiering around the nation so we headed out to see it and sit down for an in-depth review of the film.
Here is some more information about Creed from Wiki:
Creed is a 2015 American sports drama film written and directed by Ryan Coogler, co-written by Aaron Covington and produced by Robert Chartoff, Irwin Winkler and Sylvester Stallone. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson Creed – Apollo's son – and Stallone reprising the role of Rocky Balboa. It also features Tessa Thompson, Tony Bellew and Graham McTavish. It is the seventh Rocky film, both a spin-off from the original series and the indirect successor to 2006's Rocky Balboa, and also reunites Jordan with Fruitvale Station writer/director Coogler and also Wood Harris, whom Jordan worked with on The Wire.
Filming began on January 19, 2015 in Liverpool and later also took place in Philadelphia, Rocky's symbolic home. It was released on November 25, 2015 in the United States – the fortieth anniversary of the date of the opening scene in the original Rocky.
On July 24, 2013, it was announced that MGM signed on with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler to direct a spin-off of Rocky and a seventh film in the Rocky series, which Coogler would also co-write with Aaron Covington. The film would focus on a man following in the footsteps of his late father, Apollo Creed, and getting a mentor in the now-retired Rocky Balboa. Michael B. Jordan was set for the role of Creed's son, Adonis Creed, and Stallone would reprise his character of Rocky. Original producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff would produce along with Stallone and Kevin King-Templeton. On April 25, 2014, while talking to THR, Coogler revealed that he had sent his latest draft to the studio, and confirmed the involvement of Jordan and Stallone.
On November 10, real-life boxers Tony Bellew and Andre Ward joined the film, in which Bellew would play a fighter, "Pretty" Ricky Conlan, the main opponent for Creed, with shooting set to begin in January 2015 in Las Vegas and Philadelphia. On December 16, Tessa Thompson was added to the cast as the female lead. On January 8, 2015, Phylicia Rashād was reportedly joined the film to play Mary Anne Creed, Apollo's widow. On January 21, Graham McTavish tweeted about his involvement in the film.
Creed has received critical acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 92%, based on 127 reviews, with an average rating of 7.9/10. The site's consensus reads, "Creed brings the Rocky franchise off the mat for a surprisingly effective seventh round that extends the boxer's saga in interesting new directions while staying true to its classic predecessors' roots." On Metacritic, the film has a score of 81 out of 100, based on 36 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".

Τις σκοτεινές μέρες της οικονομικής κρίσης οι ''χορευτικοί μαραθώνιοι'' αποτελούσαν ένα τρόπο για να διαγωνισθούν οι απελπισμένοι άνθρωποι με σκοπό το χρηματικό έπαθλο. Το θέαμα κρατούσε μέρες, καθώς οι διαγωνιζόμενοι πίεζαν τους εαυτούς τους πέρα από τα όρια της εξάντλησης, ενώ το βάρβαρο κοινό παρακολουθούσε στοιχηματίζοντας για σπορ ή κέρδος. Ενάντια σ' αυτό το σκηνικό, οι ζωές μιας άνισης ομάδας διγωνιζομένων περιπλέκονται. Συναντιούνται τυχαία, κινούνται ανελέητα στην πίστα ψάχνοντας ένα όνειρο. Κι ενώ το κοινό παρακολουθεί, το ρολόι χτυπάει... ποιός απ' αυτούς θα επιζήσει;

When Jim is forced to borrow money from dangerous gangsters, he places the lives of those he loves in mortal danger. With time running out, he must enter the criminal underworld and risk everything to keep from losing it all. John Goodman, Brie Larson and Academy Award-winner Jessica Lange star in the thrilling film critics are calling “gritty, intense and wholly engrossing.”* *Scott Mantz, Access Hollywood

AOM hosts Marisa Serafini (@SerafiniTV), Sara Stretton (@Sara_Stretton), Sean Overman (@seanaustino), and Demetri Panos (@DMovies1701) and discuss the 2015 movie Creed.
The former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.
Creed is a 2015 American sports drama film, written and directed by Ryan Coogler, co-written by Aaron Covington, and produced by Robert Chartoff, Irwin Winkler, and Sylvester Stallone. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson Creed, Apollo's son, with Stallone reprising the role of Rocky Balboa. It also features Tessa Thompson, Tony Bellew, and Graham McTavish. It is the seventh Rocky film, both a spin-off from the original series and a sequel to 2006's Rocky Balboa. The film reunites Jordan with Fruitvale Station writer/director Coogler, and with Wood Harris, whom Jordan worked with on The Wire.
Filming began on January 19, 2015 in Liverpool, and later also took place in Philadelphia, Rocky's home. Creed was released in the United States on November 25, 2015, the fortieth anniversary of the date of the opening scene in the original Rocky.

James Caan portrays a compulsive gambler who can't quit or win. He falls into debt to the mob for $40,000 but seems to relish the thrill of gambling against the long shot. As a professor of literature at a New York University, he is in over his head, until his mother gives him some money which he quickly tries to increase in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the odds never allow him to win or fully recover, so his future is in the mob's hands. Caan and girlfriend Lauren Hutton are a sexy duo, and Caan aptly plays the risk-taker as a man with no future.
