Gu Kaizhi (simplified Chinese: 顾恺之; traditional Chinese: 顧愷之; pinyin: Gù Kǎizhī; Wade–Giles: Ku K'ai-chih; c. 344-406), courtesy name Changkang (长康), was a celebrated painter of ancient China. He was born in Wuxi and first painted at Nanjing in 364. In 366, he became an officer (Da Sima Canjun, 大司馬參軍). Later he was promoted to royal officer (Sanji Changshi, 散騎常侍). He was also a talented poet and calligrapher. He wrote three books about painting theory: On Painting (畫論), Introduction of Famous Paintings of Wei and Jin Dynasties (魏晉勝流畫贊) and Painting Yuntai Mountain (畫雲台山記). He wrote: "In figure paintings the clothes and the appearances were not very important. The eyes were the spirit and the decisive factor."
Gu's art is known today through copies of several silk handscroll paintings attributed to him.
This painting, dated between the 6th and 8th century AD - probably an early Tang Dynasty copy - illustrates nine stories from a political satire about Empress Jia Nanfeng written by Zhang Hua (ca. 232-302). Beginning in the eighth century, many collectors and emperors left seals, poems, and comments on the scroll. The Admonitions scroll was stored in the emperor's treasure until it was looted by the British army in the Boxer Uprising in 1900. Now it is in the British Museum collection, missing the first three scenes. There is another surviving copy of this painting, made during the Song Dynasty and is now held in the Palace Museum in Beijing. The Song version is complete in twelve scenes.
Fu Baoshi (Chinese: 傅抱石), or Fu Pao-Shih, (1904-1965) was a Chinese painter from Xinyu, Jiangxi Province. He went to Japan to study the History of Oriental Art in the Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1933. He translated many books from Japanese and carried out his own research. In painting itself, he brought Japanese visual elements to the Chinese ink painting tradition.
He was the Director of the Jiangsu Province Chinese Painting School and a Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Artists. He also taught in the Art Department of Central University (now Nanjing University). His works of landscape painting employed skillful use of dots and inking methods, creating a new technique encompassing many varieties within traditional rules. He was able to create an old, elegant style through his integration of poetic atmosphere and painting techniques. He has held many personal exhibitions in China and has won favourable comments.
Fu had strong feelings towards the land of China. During his travel to many places, he recorded the splendors of the rivers and mountains, drawing inspiration from nature and becoming the representative landscape painter of his time.

I designed a virtual gallery app running on the mobile platform based on artworks from ancient China by the famous artist Gu Kaizhi(circa 344-406); its most interesting feature is an integrated dynamic interactive display that animates Gu's static pictures, whose physical originals are especially big.
Fu wrote numerous fine arts theses, the earliest of which, "On the Evolution of Chinese Paintings", was written at the age of 25. He also carried out in-depth research into the history of landscape painting at the end of the 4th century BC, including the works of Gu Kaizhi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), Zhan Ziqian of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) and Jing Hao of the Five Dynasties Period (907-960), as well as Wu Daozi, Li Sixun, Li Zhaodao and Zhang Yanyuan of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). He worked very hard to imitate paintings by Gao Kegong and Ni Zan of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) Chen Hongshou of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and Cheng Sui, Kun Can, Zha Shibiao, Gong Xian, Mei Qing, Wui Li, Yun Shouping and Shi Tao of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), finally becoming one of the master...
The third lecture treats the pictorial art of the variously named period between the Han and Tang dynasties, a period of political division and warfare during which relative peace in the Yangzi Delta region around Nanjing permitted the emergence there of major artists and a flourishing tradition of picture making. Detailed looking at scroll paintings ascribed to one artist, Gu Kaizhi, introduces issues of dating and the faithfulness of copies after a lost original; brief discussions of two early essays open a continuing consideration of the rich Chinese critical and theoretical literature on painting.

The Poem of Four Seasons was written by a Chinese painter Kaizhi Gu about one thousand and five hundred years ago.
Tanda Na Ne Ta Na Ne Aanand Mein 4
Pyaare Panchhi Baanhon Mein Gaati Koyal Raahon Mein
Dharati Pe Yahi To Kushi Hai Apani Duniya Mein Aansu Bhi Nahin Hain
Pyaare Panchhi Baanhon Mein Gaati Koyal Raahon Mein
Dharati Pe Yahi To Kushi Hai Apani Duniya Mein Aansu Bhi Nahin Hain
Chhoti Chhoti Kutiya Mein Svarg Hai Yahaan
Aur Chhote Chhote Dil Mein Bahata Pyaar Ka Ye Jharana
Panchhi Jo Udana Chaahe To Patta Kaahe Ka
Ye Pyaar Hi Kaafi Hai Gori Paisaa Vaisa Kya Karana
Pyaare Panchhi Baanhon Mein Gaati Koyal Raahon Mein
Dharati Pe Yahi To Kushi Hai Apani Duniya Mein Aansu Bhi Nahin Hain
Aasamaanon Mein Aanand Mitti Mein Bhi Hai Aanand
Ye Dharati Chir Ke Ugane Vaale Ankur Mein Aanand
Dhuup Ka Sardi Mein Aanand Nadi Ka Varsha Mein Aanand
Aur Varsha Mein Badale Bhuumi Ke Rangon Mein Aanand
Jivan Ka Ye Aanand Sau Barason Ka Aanand Sajani
Duniya Mein Har Dil Ki Dhadakan Mein Aanand Aanand
Pyaare Panchhi Baanhon Mein Gaati Koyal Raahon Mein
Dharati Pe Yahi To Kushi Hai Apani Duniya Mein Aansu Bhi Nahin Hain
Teri Saanson Mein Rah Ke Dhalati Umar Ka Aanand
Tum Agale Janam Mein Phir Se Milo To Aur Bhi Aanand
Thandi Raaton Mein Tere Badan Ki Garmi Ka Aanand
Aur Jivan Bhar Jo Tumane Diya Hai Jine Ka Aanand
Apanepan Mein Aanand Rishton Mein Bhi Aanand
Chhalake Auron Ki Kaatir Jo Aansu Hain Aanand
