Angelo is an Italian masculine given name meaning "angel", or "messenger". Angelo is also an Italian surname that has many variations: Angeli (disambiguation), Angela (disambiguation), De Angelis, D'Angelo, Angelini, Angelino (disambiguation), Angelina (disambiguation), Angelucci, Angeloni, Angeletti (disambiguation).
Angelo is a character in Shakespeare's play Measure for Measure. He is the play's main antagonist.
Angelo is the deputy to Vincentio, the Duke of Vienna, who begins the play by departing the city under mysterious circumstances and leaves the strait-laced Angelo in power. Angelo's first act is to begin the enforcement of an old law that makes fornication punishable by death, but proves himself a hypocrite when Isabella, the sister of Claudio, the first man sentenced under the law, comes to plead for her brother's life. Angelo agrees to commute the sentence only if she will sleep with him. Angelo is ultimately duped by being set up with Mariana, a woman he was once betrothed to, who masquerades as Isabella at the assignation. And after Angelo thinks he has attained the object of desire, he covers his tracks by ordering the execution of Claudio after all. But before the scheme is revealed to him, he admits his angst over his behaviour:
"This deed unshapes me quite, makes me unpregnant
And dull to all proceedings. A deflower'd maid!
And by an eminent body that enforced
The law against it! But that her tender shame
Will not proclaim against her maiden loss,
How might she tongue me! Yet reason dares her no;
For my authority bears of a credent bulk,
That no particular scandal once can touch
But it confounds the breather. He should have lived,
Save that riotous youth, with dangerous sense,
Might in the times to come have ta'en revenge,
By so receiving a dishonour'd life
With ransom of such shame. Would yet he had lived!
A lack, when once our grace we have forgot,
Nothing goes right: we would, and we would not."
Diamond Is Unbreakable (ダイヤモンドは砕けない, Daiyamondo wa Kudakenai, formerly translated as Diamond Is Not Crash) is the fourth story arc of the Japanese manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1992 to 1995. In its original publication, it was titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Jōsuke Higashikata (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 第4部 東方仗助, JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken Dai Yon Bu: Higashikata Jōsuke). The series will be adapted as the third season of David Production's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure television anime series in April 2016.
Araki retroactively introduced the Bow and Arrow in this arc, which causes people pierced by it to develop Stand ability. Apparently this was used on DIO at the beginning of Part 3, which not only gave him a Stand but causes Stands to develop in the Joestar bloodline as well. As it is the fourth part of the series, the 174 chapters pick up where the third left off and are numbered 266 to 439, with the tankōbon volumes numbered 29 to 46 (the last three chapters are in volume 47). It was preceded by Stardust Crusaders and followed by Vento Aureo.
Pier Luigi Cherubino Loggi (born 15 October 1971), known simply as Pier, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a striker.
Over the course of ten seasons he amassed La Liga totals of 227 games and 54 goals in representation of four clubs, mainly Tenerife.
Born in Rome, Italy, Pier was raised in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, and made his professional debuts with CD Tenerife's first team during the 1990–91 season. In 16 La Liga matches he scored an important goal, in a 1–1 away draw against Real Betis on 6 January 1991, and would be relatively used in the subsequent three campaigns, also appearing in the 1993–94 UEFA Cup.
Pier would develop into a top flight offensive player in 1994–95, with Sporting de Gijón, and in his two seasons at Betis, where he formidably teamed up with former Real Madrid's Alfonso – the pair combined for 60 league goals from 1995 to 1997, finishing fourth in the latter season.
After failing to produce at Real Zaragoza Pier returned to Tenerife, where he achieved a top level promotion, when the team was coached by Rafael Benítez, and also played for six months in CF Extremadura alongside former Atlético Madrid great Kiko.

Pier 57 is a long pier located in the Hudson River on the west side of the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Built in 1952, it sits at the end of West 15th Street on Eleventh Avenue, just south of the Chelsea Piers sports complex.
Consisting of two stories above the waterline, the pier also has a concrete basement resting on the riverbed, and an Art Deco-style metal enclosure at the west end with a sign reading "MARINE & AVIATION" and displaying the identifying designation "PIER 57". The long sides of the structure are each topped with a line of continuous "burton" cargo handling frames, which allowed freight to be easily transferred to and from ships docked at the pier.
The pier is notable for being underpinned by 3 separate submerged buoyant concrete caissons, which are spanned by long steel girders supporting the building above. Designer Emil Praeger of the firm Madigan-Hyland had created similar structures as part of the American military effort in World War II, including temporary breakwaters that were used as part of the D-Day invasion. The caissons were constructed in diked enclosures drained of water near Haverstraw, New York and after completion were floated down the Hudson to the site. Dubbed "The World's Most Modern Pier", it was hailed as an innovative structure, being fireproof, extremely durable and immune to many of the problems that had historically plagued wooden waterfront construction.
