Zaytoven stopped by VladTV to talk about the rumors surrounding Gucci Mane being a clone, what it's like being around Gucci Mane, the artists Gucci has helped put on and much more. Zaytoven told us that both he and Gucci Mane sat back and laughed at the clone rumor, and he added, "It's a real good Marketing Strategy it's making people really pay attention... its intriguing people... we both laughed at it." Zaytoven said Gucci Mane is using the clone theory to his advantage and playing on the fact that he's new and improved.
Vlad also brought up that Charlamagne The God coined Gucci Mane the "boogie man of hip-hop" and Zaytoven agreed, "I think that's what makes Gucci Mane so special, you got a lot of rappers talking about this and that... but Gucci is that guy that when you see him or be around him, he really is that guy... he's an intimidating guy." Gucci's larger than life demeanor and 6'4 physic play a big part in why he would be considered the boogie man of hip-hop. In a cutback to a throwback clip of French Montana talking about hanging with Gucci Mane, French explained Gucci Mane went at someone in front of him so bad French had to leave the room. Zaytoven laughed and said that's what Gucci Mane does.

Dedicated to his craft of manipulating sounds to create poignant Hip-Hop tracks, the veteran DJ and producer speaks candidly about his devotion to his faith as it relates to his profession. Secure with his fortified relationship with the Lord, the ardent Christian who treats his body as a temple explains that even though he doesn't drink, smoke, or use profanity, he's been able to successfully operate in an environment that's filled with those indulgences without giving in to temptation.
Even though the "Versace" beatsmith works around other rappers like Gucci Mane who make music about their vices, Zaytoven maintains that he stays focused and is not really a party animal, also claiming that he's never been high or even caught a contact-high, saying "I never felt like I was high before."
Given the respect that he's garnered from his peers, they don't smoke around him if they're in his environment, but if he's at a studio he doesn't trip and reveals, "I really can't tell them to stop smoking."
He then breaks down his perspective, "Everybody knows when they come to me it's something totally different...All the big rappers they come to my house. They come to my home, and it's been like that ever since we started; so, it's a different respect. You'd be surprised how much they brag on that. It threw me off so much, with Gucci being the guy that he is, as soon as he would introduce me to somebody else that's big or major, or meant something to him, he'll brag about me. But, he'll brag about the fact that I don't drink or smoke, or cuss. 'He'll be in church every Sunday.' That was kinda weird to me, but it meant something to me."

Zaytoven stopped by VladTV to talk with us about Gucci's release, his weight loss, how Gucci recorded songs while behind bars, and much much more. Zaytoven explained he knew that Gucci was going to be released almost two or three weeks before. Vlad went into Gucci Mane's dramatic weight loss, and Zaytoven explained, "He's been locked up for three years, Gucci is always thinking forward so he was probably thinking how can I shock the people.. make the attention on me... He came out all the way in shape." Zaytoven also talked about how Gucci Mane wrote 1000 songs, "He'll call me and rap me a song.. he'd be like 'Zay hang up I finna call right back and leave you a voicemail with me rapping on it...'". He and Gucci perfected the pre-cording process while he was in prison.
None of Gucci's jailhouse songs made it on his new album "Everybody's Looking" due to the rapper jumping in the studio the very next day he got out of jail. Zaytoven said the first session back together again was down to the music. The producer talked about their creative process. "When it's me and Gucci I sit and do the beat, it might take me 5-10 minutes to come up with something real fast cause this is how Gucci likes to work. If I take too long Gucci might lose his vibe and then he don't even wanna do the song no more; I think that's how we got so much work done and music done..."
So what's the difference between sober Gucci and intoxicated Gucci? According to Zaytoven, it's fairly different. "I've been working with Gucci from the beginning; he wasn't really intoxicated in the beginning, the way we working now is how we worked when we first started. The only difference is when Gucci's intoxicated you gonna get more records that probably doesn't make any sense but they still feel good, there's gonna be something special about it." Gucci Mane's hit single "Pills" was recorded when he was intoxicated. Sober Gucci, however, was able to record, "Everybody's Looking" in just four days.

Between working with Gucci Mane and Future, producer Zaytoven explains the difference between the two stars' sound and why the What a Time to Be Alive rapper likes to release back-to-back projects. During an interview with DJ Vlad, Zaytoven compared his working relationship with Gucci to the likes of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. "We created a sound that belongs in the rap game right now. What we have together is something unbreakable, like a Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. We have created something so special that I don't think it's going anywhere."
Further, the producer talked about Future creating his orchestrated sound and why he chose to feed fans with new records continuously. "Just us two alone have done 100 songs. It's cool to let all that music sit there on the hard drive...but I think the fans now have ADD. One project you gave us last month, that ain't enough." With critics claiming the rapper may burn himself out by oversaturating the market with his music, Zaytoven explains the strategy these days is necessary to stay relevant. "The way to stay on fire is to keep giving, keep feeding these folks." He said, "Or you can cool off and somebody else can come in and really kind of take the spots."

Zaytoven
Xavier Dotson, better known as Zaytoven, is an American disk jockey and record producer born in Germany. He was raised in San Francisco but later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, he has worked with Gucci Mane extensively, contributing at least one song on every one of his albums, and doing many mixtapes with him. He has also worked with other notable Atlanta artists, such as Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, Gorilla Zoe, Young Jeezy, OJ Da Juiceman, Future, Doe B, Usher, Migos (for their Hot 100 hit "Versace"), and other non-Atlanta artists such as Nicki Minaj, producing hundreds of songs in total. He won a Grammy Award in 2011 for his contribution to Usher's Raymond vs. Raymond album, as a co-producer and writer for the single "Papers" along with Sean Garrett.

Gucci Mane
Radric Davis (born February 12, 1980), better known by his stage name Gucci Mane, is an American rapper. In 2005, he began to burst into this hip hop music scene with the release of his first independent album Trap House, which followed by his second and third independent albums, Hard to Kill and Trap-A-Thon in 2006. His fourth independent album Back to the Trap House was released in 2007.
In 2009, Gucci Mane released his sixth studio album The State vs. Radric Davis. The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted was released in 2010, and is his highest charting album so far. Thus far, Gucci Mane elevated his music career by not only the release of his several mixtapes and independent albums, but through his collaborations on songs, tracks and singles with artists, such as Lil Wayne, T.I., Omarion, Mariah Carey and Young Jeezy as well. On May 21, 2013, he released his eighth studio album Trap House III. His ninth studio album, The State vs. Radric Davis II: The Caged Bird Sings was released on December 25, 2013. He also is the founder and CEO of 1017 Brick Squad Records.

Zaytoven said the first session back together again was down to the music. The producer talked about their creative process. "When it's me and Gucci I sit and do the beat, it might take me 5-10 minutes to come up with something real fast cause this is how Gucci likes to work. If I take too long Gucci might lose his vibe and then he don't even wanna do the song no more; I think that's how we got so much work done and music done..."
So what's the difference between sober Gucci and intoxicated Gucci? According to Zaytoven, it's fairly different. "I've been working with Gucci from the beginning; he wasn't really intoxicated in the beginning, the way we working now is how we worked when we first started. Between working with Gucci Mane and Future, producer Zaytoven explains the difference between the two stars' sound and why the What a Time to Be Alive rapper likes to release back-to-back projects. During an interview with DJ Vlad, Zaytoven compared his working relationship with Gucci to the likes of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. "We created a sound that belongs in the rap game right now. What we have together is something unbreakable, like a Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. We have created something so special that I don't think it's going anywhere."
Further, the producer talked about Future creating his orchestrated sound and why he chose to feed fans with new records continuously. "Just us two alone have done 100 songs. It's cool to let all that music sit there on the hard drive...but I think the fans now have ADD. One project you gave us last month, that ain't enough." With critics claiming the rapper may burn himself out by oversaturating the market with his music, Zaytoven explains the strategy these days is necessary to stay relevant. "The way to stay on fire is to keep giving, keep feeding these folks." He said, "Or you can cool off and somebody else can come in and really kind of take the spots."
