The Nürburgring is a motorsports complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 km (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed "The Green Hell" by Jackie Stewart and is widely considered one of the most demanding purpose-built racing circuits in the world.
Originally, the track featured four configurations: the 28.265 km (17.563 mi)-long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("Northern Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("Southern Loop"). There also was a 2.281 km (1.417 mi) warm-up loop called Zielschleife ("Finish Loop") or better known as Betonschleife, around the pit area.

I've been obsessed with the Nurburgring Nordschleife for years now, since my younger days when I would put in lap after lap on my Playstation, desparately trying to beat my own laptime. This was my first visit, and first time I've taken my GSXR abroad, heading on the Eurotunnel from Folkestone into Calais. A dull and monotonous couple of hundred motorway miles, then through Belgium into Germany through some great countryside. We stayed at Hotel an de Nordschleife with a first floor balcony overlooking the Breidscheide corner and the very useful and pleasantly busy Pitstop cafe below. I rode on a public Touristfahren session, mixed cars and bikes found it quite difficult to flow between corners due to traffic, mostly super tricked-out cars nudging to get to the corner before me. Lake Garda Italy Highlights and Attractions (Lago Di Garda)
Edited video and still images from my vacation in Malcesine, Lake Garda in August 2013, staying at the wonderful Hotel Vega. I'd highly recommend Malcesine as a lovely picturesque town to stay in, relax and explore. It has bags of character and plenty to do, but is also a useful base, at the more Northern end of the Lake, so access to Limone, Torbole and Riva is easy using the passenger ferry. Food is excellent wherever you go in Italy. The day trip to Venice was a must, however due to the searing heat and endless streams of tourists (I know I was part of the problem!) it was difficult to enjoy at the time, but now looking back at my footage of the Gondola ride I'm quite enjoying it more now in retrospect. I've been obsessed with the Nurburgring Nordschleife for years now, since my younger days when I would put in lap after lap on my Playstation, desparately trying to beat my own laptime.
This was my first visit, and first time I've taken my GSXR abroad, heading on the Eurotunnel from Folkestone into Calais. A dull and monotonous couple of hundred motorway miles, then through Belgium into Germany through some great countryside.
We stayed at Hotel an de Nordschleife with a first floor balcony overlooking the Breidscheide corner and the very useful and pleasantly busy Pitstop cafe below.
I rode on a public Touristfahren session, mixed cars and bikes found it quite difficult to flow between corners due to traffic, mostly super tricked-out cars nudging to get to the corner before me. That said, all cars and bikes played by the rules, I had no close calls as I took things very carefully, being sure to breathe in everything about the track.
If you're thinking about doing 'the Ring, put down your joypad and just do it!

Short and super-precise shifting travel, exclusively H-pattern and suitable for 6-gear transmissions. The coupling system remains in its original form.
Racing-style appearance.
All shifters are characterised by their optimal ergonomics with a focus on motor sports: perfect positioning of the shift lever close to the steering wheel. The shift pattern for all shifters is confined to approx. 70x70 mm.
Activation of the reverse gear lock via cable reel from the shift lever. An accidental changing to the reverse gear is impossible. The reverse gear is unlocked by pulling up the sliding collar on the shift lever. (Only if the transmission has no integrated lock.)
Low weight and high stability: the milled and lathed parts consist of 7075 aluminium alloy; the substructures are made out of laser-cut, 3mm thick AlMg3 aluminium. The parts are combined in the WIG welding process and brushed blank for an optimal finish.
Problem-free shifting of gears under stress or in curves.
Integrated centre position spring, ensuring perfect feedback when changing columns while shifting up and down.
Right/left stops and reverse gear stop adjustable separately.
Simple installation through complete conversion kit: All systems are delivered with all small parts, fastening material and detailed installation instructions.
All shifters are intended for vehicles without interior equipment or without a centre console and make use of the mounting points of the original shift lever.
All shifters with anodised aluminium gear lever knobs in the following colours: titanium grey (standard), red or blue. Please indicate desired colour when ordering.

Edited video and still images from my vacation in Malcesine, Lake Garda in August 2013, staying at the wonderful Hotel Vega.
I'd highly recommend Malcesine as a lovely picturesque town to stay in, relax and explore. It has bags of character and plenty to do, but is also a useful base, at the more Northern end of the Lake, so access to Limone, Torbole and Riva is easy using the passenger ferry.
Food is excellent wherever you go in Italy.
The day trip to Venice was a must, however due to the searing heat and endless streams of tourists (I know I was part of the problem!) it was difficult to enjoy at the time, but now looking back at my footage of the Gondola ride I'm quite enjoying it more now in retrospect.
The day trip to Bolzano and Renon was really pleasant; a 2 hour easy coach ride to Bolzano, a pretty town with attractive, colourful buildings and great cable car ride into the mountains where we completed the rest of the climb by tram. Renon gave us great views across the mountains (I think The Dolomites were visible in the background), and some very interesting 'earth pyramids'.
