Wild Turkey is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey distilled and bottled by the Austin Nichols division of Campari Group. The distillery is located near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. It offers tours, and is part of the American Whiskey Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
The Ripy brothers built a distillery in Tyrone, Kentucky near Lawrenceburg in 1869, had consolidated the current facility by 1905 and resumed distilling after Prohibition. The Ripys were bought out in 1952 by the Gould Brothers. In turn the distillery was bought by Pernod Ricard in 1980. On April 8, 2009, the Campari Group announced the acquisition of the brand and of the distillery from Pernod Ricard.
Distillery executive Thomas McCarthy took some warehouse samples on a wild turkey hunting trip in 1940. The next year his friends asked him for "some of that wild turkey whiskey", and a brand was born. The 80 proof version was introduced in 1974.
Wild Turkey Master Distiller Jimmy Russell is the longest-tenured, active master distiller in the world, and pioneered the flavored bourbon category in 1976. He is the creator of American Honey (originally known as Wild Turkey Honey Liqueur).
A noun (from Latin nōmen, literally meaning "name") is a word that functions as the name of some specific thing or set of things, such as living creatures, objects, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas.Linguistically, a noun is a member of a large, open part of speech whose members can occur as the main word in the subject of a clause, the object of a verb, or the object of a preposition.
Lexical categories (parts of speech) are defined in terms of the ways in which their members combine with other kinds of expressions. The syntactic rules for nouns differ from language to language. In English, nouns are those words which can occur with articles and attributive adjectives and can function as the head of a noun phrase.
Word classes (parts of speech) were described by Sanskrit grammarians from at least the 5th century BC. In Yāska's Nirukta, the noun (nāma) is one of the four main categories of words defined.
The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nōmen. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.
Birds (class Aves) are a group of endothermic vertebrates, characterised by feathers, a beak with no teeth, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a lightweight but strong skeleton. Birds live worldwide and range in size from the 5 cm (2 in) bee hummingbird to the 2.75 m (9 ft) ostrich. They rank as the class of tetrapods with the most living species, at approximately ten thousand, with more than half of these being passerines, sometimes known as perching birds or, less accurately, as songbirds.
The fossil record indicates that birds are the last surviving dinosaurs, having evolved from feathered ancestors within the theropod group of saurischian dinosaurs. True birds first appeared during the Cretaceous period, around 100 million years ago, and the last common ancestor is estimated to have lived about 95 million years ago. DNA-based evidence finds that birds radiated extensively around the time of the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event that killed off the non-avian dinosaurs. Birds in South America survived this event and then migrated to other parts of the world via multiple land bridges while diversifying during periods of global cooling. Primitive bird-like "stem-birds" that lie outside class Aves proper, in the group Avialae, have been found dating back to the mid-Jurassic period. Many of these early stem-birds, such as Archaeopteryx, were not yet capable of fully powered flight, and many retained primitive characteristics like toothy jaws in place of beaks and long bony tails.
Daniel Pearce, better known as Eats Everything, is an English producer and DJ from Bristol. He came to prominence in 2011 with the release of ‘Entrance Song’ on Pets Records in 2011. Since then he has received critical acclaim for a number of solo releases on Dirtybird, Hypercolour and Futureboogie.
Dan’s productions combine house music with a wide range of other genres such as UK bass, garage, techno and jungle.
Dan began his DJ career as a resident for the Bristol night Ripsnorter then Scream in the early 00s, as well as playing some gigs in Europe. It wasn’t until 2011, when ‘Entrance Song’ was signed to Pets Records, followed soon after by a release on Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird label that Dan’s career as a DJ began to gain momentum.
Since 2011, Dan has played at a number of the worlds biggest clubbing institutions such as Fabric, DC10, Amnesia, The Warehouse Project, Space and Watergate, as well as festivals like Glastonbury, Bestival, Creamfields and Secret Garden Party.
Barclay Macbride Crenshaw (born July 7, 1971), who is known by the stage name Claude VonStroke, is an American house and techno producer based in Los Angeles. He owns Dirtybird Records based in San Francisco. In July 2006 he released his debut album, Beware of the Bird. He has produced a 'Fabric' mix, which was released in May 2009, and has also appeared on Pete Tong's Essential Mix Radio show. In 2009, he released his second studio album, Bird Brain.
Barclay Macbride Crenshaw was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lived there until he was in seventh grade. His family then moved to Detroit. He had an interest in hip-hop music at first, but then embraced electronic music. Later he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked on numerous movie productions as location scout and production assistant. From 2002 to 2003 he worked on the documentary Intellect: Techno House Progressive, for which he interviewed more than 50 well-known DJs.
In the early 2000s, Claude met up with "The Martin Brothers". In January 2005 he formed the dirtybird label. His wife, Aundy, funded the original start of the Dirtybird label. She gave him one year to turn it into a successful record label and would have cut him off if the label did not succeed. The Fabric imprint invited Barclay early in his DJ career to do a mix, and he accepted saying, "Fabric called me, and of course I agreed without hesitation. I have wanted to mix one of the Fabric series since I started DJing house. I feel like it is a nice achievement for a DJ, something that says, 'OK, this person is legit.'"

UK’s Weiss has had a meteoric rise the past year, and we welcomed him to Dirtybird with his single “Walk With Her” on our New Year’s compilation late last year. Producing tracks that properly cover all the bases—rolling grooves, lots of bass, solid drums and the right amount of vocal bits—his tracks are a favorite to play and consistently crush it, no matter the size of the crowd. He sent in two tracks specifically for us, and it only took hearing a couple notes to confirm they were a perfect fit. “Change Dat” reminds us of the old Music For Freaks—unique percussion, trippy effects and quirky sounds set amongst a classic Chicago style bounce. While the title track might remind us of MFF, “Charlie Brown” has a vintage Dirtybird flavor all over it….off-the-wall melody, unconventional bass ...

His new music video, premiering today on The FADER, is a tour of his Canadian hometown. It's two songs in one: "Whole Lotta" has a beat that recalls Zaytoven and Travis Scott, an ode to flexing that sees SYPH cruising around town. As the sun sets, the clip segues into "DirtyBird," where SYPH and his crew don balaclavas and pull donuts in Bentleys as snow falls gently in an apartment complex's parking lot. A lot has happened since Eats Everything made his Dirtybird debut back in 2011….he tours the world relentlessly, has a BBC Radio 1 residency, runs his own label, and has racked up countless awards and accolades. Considering his last Dirtybird appearance was on our tenth-anniversary compilation several years back – and because Eats is one of our dearest Players – we're thrilled to welcome him back with his “Clash of the Tight-Uns” EP. He brought a friend with him this time, fellow UK producer Lord Leopard, and together they crafted two singles for us, “Song For” and “War Rhythm”. The former perfectly captures the essence of Eats’ personality—fun, playful and full of life, while Lord’s influence is heard on the latter; a darker, blistering techno track. ------------------- Birdfeed: bir...
To mark the inaugural release for our new sister-label "Dirtybird Select," we couldn’t think of a better single to lay the foundation than Ciszak’s “I Want." Rooted in the signature sound of Dirtybird, it has all the elements we love—Quirky synth leads, contagious vocals and a huge bottom end. Road tested and crowd-certified by the boss, Claude VonStroke, we just knew it had to be shared. So, what better way to introduce Dirtybird Select than with this monster? VonStroke says, "If the ancient Mayans really were aliens from outer space that landed on earth, this is what they would have listened to.”
Back in 2015 our bearded Dirtybird Player, Will Clarke, needed a secret weapon for some of his festival gigs for the Summer. He sampled the ghetto house legend, DJ Funk, who made an appearance on Dirtybird back in 2013 for the Kill Frenzy smash, “Make That Booty Clap”. Will passed it on to the rest of the Dirtybird crew, and before we knew it the track took a life of it’s own and quickly became one of the most requested tracks, even to this day. Will ended up linking with DJ Funk himself, and they turned what was a quick bootleg into a full blown collaboration. Ladies & Gentlemen, “Booty Percolatin’” is officially here. For the flip side, we added Will’s solo effort “House Girl”, a bumpin’ ride with a contagious bassline and chanting vocals for all the ‘House Boys’ and ‘House Girls”. -...

He’s been called a legend, the Master Distiller’s Master Distiller, even the Buddha of Bourbon. But the man who’s made America’s signature whiskey for 60 years is just fine being called Jimmy. His humility is matched only by his dedication and drive, preserving Kentucky’s bourbon tradition through upheaval and change. And that’s why his name is on every bottle of Wild Turkey.

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail draws tens of thousands of tourists every year, and now, there are even more reasons to visit the Bluegrass State. Jim Beam has opened the new $18 million Jim Beam American Stillhouse visitors center in Clermont, complete with a small-scale distillery to show Bourbon lovers the craft of making whiskey one barrel at a time. At the other end of the Bourbon Trail, Four Roses has opened an all-new visitors center of its own, and even more improvements are planned at the state's distilleries over the coming year.

Wild Turkey debuted its $4 million visitors center overlooking the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, Ky.
May 27 -- Spend time at a bar and you start to notice something: People are drinking a lot more bourbon. Revenues are up more than 40 percent since 2009 and, in an attempt to capitalize on this boom, the number of bourbon brands has exploded. It’s a great time for America’s only true native spirit, but in between the unscrewing of bottles and the clinking of ice cubes lies the potential for a hangover: A lot of the bourbon you see out there isn’t what it purports to be. Bloomberg's Sam Grobart reports.
Here I talk about the Kentucky Bourbon Trail's new addition, the "Craft Tour". This is a great way to see the micro-distillery side of moonshine, bourbon and a few other spirits. I start by giving you the quick rundown on each of the seven distilleries, and then I nose and taste a bottle (or two) of my favorites from each. The "Craft Tour" includes: Silver Trail Distillery, MB Roland Distillery, Barrel House Distillery, Corsair Distillery, Old Pogue Distillery, Limestone Branch Distillery and the Willett Distillery. As of 6-1-13, my current bottle count stands at 1074 total bottles. I have 683 different ones in the bar & another 391 in back stock. I've now been actively collecting for the last 19 years and what started as a small basic bar has transformed (with the help & understanding...

I think its time to get over this and all the years you
think you have missed. I know I've never been down that
road, scarred by stories that I've been told. But yes I
think it's unusual that they would send you now halfway
'round this world into a place that you've never been,
into a fight we would never win. My mistake, won't you
pardon me, believe in me and know... There was something
out on the road. A secret that we have yet been told. A
secret silent within the sound, the sound of everything
falling down. But yes I think it's unusual that they
would use this excuse, this dirty bird to line our
pockets with paper green. To further ourselves within the
scene My mistake, so won't you pardon me, believe in me
