Corey Isiah Christie (born August 24, 1977), better known as REKS, is an American rapper. REKS emerged from Lawrence, Massachusetts' underground rap scene. His debut album Along Came The Chosen was released in 2001 released under Brick Records. Reks has released eight additional albums and has appeared on numerous other albums and mixtapes. He has worked on numerous projects with Statik Selektah
Reks was a breakdancer in his teens and was part of a local B-boy crew called Funk Town Connection. By the time he entered college at University of Massachusetts Amherst, Reks had built a reputation for himself in the local Boston rap scene, but then eventually quit school to begin recording for Brick Records. A few 12" singles, "I Could Have Done More" and "Fearless," arrived first in early 2001, before Brick issued his debut LP, Along Came the Chosen, later that year. This earned Reks nominations for Hip-Hop Album and Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards. Reks worked with DJ Premier, Styles P, Alchemist, Hi-Tek, and many others on his 2011 album Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme.

Discipline is the tenth studio album by American recording artist Janet Jackson, released by Island Records on February 26, 2008. It is her only album released on Island Records, after her five-album deal with Virgin Records America was fulfilled with the release of 20 Y.O.. Jackson worked with producers such as Darkchild, Ne-Yo, Shea Taylor, Stargate, Johntá Austin, Jermaine Dupri, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream on the album. Jackson's long-time producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, did not contribute to the project. The album was executive produced by Island Urban president Dupri and Jackson. The album experimented with the electropop, house, and dance-pop genres, and also contained R&B and hip hop orientated tracks.
Four singles were released from the album; the first, "Feedback", was released as a digital download in December 2007. The song reached number nineteen on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming Jackson's best-charting single since 2001's "Someone to Call My Lover". The album's later singles did not share the success of "Feedback". The deluxe version of Discipline contained a DVD documenting the production and promotion of the album and music videos.

The upcoming REKS album, 'The Greatest X', (pronounced The Greatest Unknown) is dropping September 9th, 2016 on Brick Records. "Jump Shots" is a song that articulates in depth the idea made famous by Biggie Smalls, "either your slingin' crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot." Over an infectious head-nodder from Buckwild, assisted by a flawless cuts from Statik Selektah, REKS describes the limited options available to ghetto youth and the parallels between b-ball and hip hop. A die-hard Boston Celtics fan, REKS states, "I actually grew up idolizing the Bad Boys Isiah Thomas on the ball court. His grittiness and fearlessness was admirable." "Jump Shots" comes just in time as The NBA Finals are now in full swing. REKS won't root for any team other than his beloved Celtics these days...

My eye seen it coming, seduction
Discussing who to trust in the clutch and
Nobody worthy in the world we know
Burning them ashes past fingertips
The final drips in a glass I sip
The inhibition of class is split
The have and have not, the have not rot
The haves benefit 'til we drop
Picking crops of cotton and then forgotten
On blocks with sounds of gun shots
Alarm clocks, how does it stop?
Limited option, liberty or death
Branded the flesh like he was cattle
We're ? just figment of imagination babble
This generation lacks
True knowledge of how the past has trapped you
With psychological lassos over Adam's apples
Soldiers blast through fitted caps
To wear them glory flags do not democracy make
Militant asshole I rap so my mind's free
And read to feed my seeds
Believe the lesson was heard, the third eye sees
Fuck what you heard, forget what you knew
Its time to unlearn, system reboot
Telling you the truth, or is it lies
Claiming its the truth, but are they lies?
Keep letting them folks lie to me
Dying to be, a part of their cult
Or say fuck 'em all, stand and revolt
Leader? the Pope says you have a better chance at the
pearly gates
For a minimal fee, he's cleaning a dirty slate
For worthy angst, Picasso paints a white Jesus
Black is evil I guess, that's how elite sees us
Can't hail Ceasars, need somebody for us non-believers
See I ain't racist
But Apollo Creed and Mr. T is
Just not enough heroes, to make us not feel like zeros
My school ain't have no Langston Hughes murals
No Medgar Evers paragraphs
No conversations on the Willie Lynch theory in my
history class
Ya'll could laugh, at Honeymooners and the Happy Days
Shit is not amusing, no black neighbors
If moved in, the house value depreciate
Show ratings decline
Gotta un-see, be not blind...
[Hook x2: Reks]
All the power hungry money control the atlas
Fighting for space before time elapses
Comfort zone collapses, a home captured
To say we care is ass backwards
Selfish in nature, just pure facts kid
This last verse is for my sons to heed
Cause when my son's in need
Upon a bleeding heart they love to feed
Kick you when you down, witnesses they're up in here
So I apologize to you now for being sons of man
Evil incarnate monsters stand, without a code of ethics
The road is set with traps, to leave us desperate
A call for help is never met with effort
Minus a motive, violence explodes with the force of
atomic
Focused on Hiroshima, we voted for peace and got a
piece of they're land
Divide us foes, we are damned
If we do, if we don't, we not American fam
Into this world I brought you, see what I taught you
Decide, either lion or lamb
[Hook x2:Reks]
