An ultimate team up between two of Switzerlands biggest EDM producers drops on Unreleased Digital with a fantastic remake of an all time progressive house classic.
Known for her spherical and melodical progressive house music, Lucerne based Tamara Hunkeler aka DINKA shot this track out first in 2009 on her same titled EP. Gaining a lot of airplays in various radio stations since the first day, the original track fast climbed up sales charts of all relevant download stores and found its way into cases of all global players.
Now, 4 years later, Dinka teams up with her Helvetic Nerds buddies from LEVENTINA to give this blissful track a new and fresh sounding environment.
With a taste of modern electro house elements, but still bringing out the spirit of the dreamy original version they've created yet another fantastic reload version that will for sure find as much fans and lovers as the original mix already did back then.

The Dinka is an ethnic group inhabiting the Bahr el Ghazal region of the Nile basin, Jonglei and parts of southern Kordufan and Upper Nile regions. They are mainly agripastoral people, relying on cattle herding at riverside camps in the dry season and growing millet (awuou) and other varieties of grains (rap) in fixed settlements during the rainy season. They number around 4.5 million people according to the 2008 Sudan census, constituting about 18% of the population of the entire country, and the largest ethnic tribe in South Sudan. Dinka, or as they refer to themselves, Muonyjang (singular) and jieng (plural), are one of the branches of the River Lake Nilotes (mainly sedentary agripastoral peoples of East Africa who speak Nilotic languages, including the Nuer and Luo). Dinka are sometimes noted for their height. With the Tutsi of Rwanda, they are believed to be the tallest people in Africa. Roberts and Bainbridge reported the average height of 182.6 cm (5 ft 11.9 in) in a sample of 52 Dinka Ageir and 181.3 cm (5 ft 11.4 in) in 227 Dinka Ruweng measured in 1953–1954. However, it seems the stature of today's Dinka males is lower, possibly as a consequence of undernutrition and conflicts. An anthropometric survey of Dinka men, war refugees in Ethiopia, published in 1995 found a mean height of 176.4 cm (5 ft 9.4 in).

The barbershop is filled with characters who share their stories, jokes, trials and tribulations. In the shop we find Eddie, an old barber with strong opinions and no customers. Jimmy is a highly educated barber with a superiority complex who can't stand Isaac, the new, white barber who just wants a shot at cutting some hair. Ricky is an ex-con with two strikes against him and is desperately trying to stay straight. Terri is a hard-edged woman who can't seem to leave her two-timing boyfriend. And lastly there's Dinka, a fellow barber who is madly in love with Terri but doesn't get the time of day.

There are over 90 languages spoken in the Omaha Public School District. That number is over half the number of languages spoken in the New York City Public School System, which is the largest school system in the United States. Think of the population difference of both cities when absorbing that information. Many agencies in Omaha assist the refugees arriving in Omaha today. Omaha Together One Community works with refugees to seek the concrete changes they need to help them put down roots in Omaha. The Dinka people vary their lifestyle by season -- in the rainy season they live in permanent savannah settlements and raise grain crops like millet, while in the dry season they herd cattle along rivers throughout their region. Their lives are very closely intertwined with those of their cattle -- at their coming of age ceremony, young Dinka men are given an ox, and that ox's name becomes a part of their own name. As it grows, they also shape their ox's long horns into different forms. -

Around 6000 of Sudan's cattle raiding Nuer tribe are on the hunt for their foes, the Dinka tribe. As 100,000 women and children flee, all can remember previous scorched earth attacks.
In this remote and inaccessible part of Africa tribal massacres have few witnesses. The most bloody Nuer rampage was in 1991 when thousands of Dinka people were slaughtered, their homes raised and their livestock obliterated. This report, from the only journalist to enter the area after that bloodbath, remains a chilling account of what can happen in South Sudan when politics and tribalism merge.
Includes interviews with SPLA leader Colonel John Gurang and Commander Riak Machar, leader of the breakaway rebels.

In a very personal conversation Dinka speaks with Aileen about her wisdom of life. One of the characteristics of Aileen is her wisdom in non-attachment. Through her experiences in life, this she really learned to practice. It has made her free and full of life spirit!
Aileen is currently organizing a tour around the world to make people aware of the sacred Maya’s and bring attention to and raise funds for ‘Casa K’in Mayan Healing Centre in Merida, Mexico (Casa K’in is a registered charity). During this tour she gives 13 one-day workshops to support her mission. These international workshops go by the name (banner) of ‘Aileen goes Walkabout’. This inspiring journey of self-awareness has been full of synchronicities and ‘co-incidences’.
She’ll never stop learning and growing and she’s looking forward to the future years full of enthusiasm and an unwavering passion for life.

Although a connection with the Dinka tribal people was not a part of Heart Sound's scheduled Sudan recording project, we were thrilled and honored that in the last days that we heard of this Dinka choir in the city. As you can see, they were not the least bit distracted that we were present with microphones, cables and cameras. Nor were they focused on the discomfort of the very hot make-shift studio.
Their pain and suffering had developed in them a hunger for worship, which had become their very life source, their food of survival. A gift is found in the impoverished and oppressed peoples of the world.
They may be last in the kingdoms of this world, but we are increasingly aware that they are the first in another.
