Presented by Port Metro Vancouver and capping off a full day of Canada Day at Canada Place festivities, the Canada Day Burrard Inlet fireworks is the most awaited show in Downtown Vancouver. The show can be seen from downtown, West Vancouver, North Vancouver and Vancouver's west side on July 1st, from 10:30PM, last for 20 minutes.
This video features the last two minutes of the fireworks show, it was amazing, splendid and surely wow'ed crowds.
Like 2013, to ensure safety, there were fences in Canada Place to limit the number of people in each view area. For those coming to Canada Place late, they had to get line at a small entrance and waited for someone go out so before they could enter. At the entrance, it was horrible: The security guard guys don't seem have a good plan - well, at least to ensure a fair entrance - some people skipped the line, some pushed elderly and children while the security guard guys couldn't do anything useful to prevent that. Inside the fence, the fireworks show would have been great if people sat down and watched nicely. It's too bad that people stood up and blocked the view of others (blame on those standing people in this video, if you see your head next to the fireworks, please be nicer next time). People were yelling 'sit down please sit down please' hopelessly. After the show, people left a lot of garbage in Canada Place, it should be a very busy day for cleaners.

attractions of Vancouver
Capilano Suspension Bridge
A simple suspension bridge crossing the Capilano River. Is 140 metres (460 ft) long and 70 metres (230 ft) above the river.
It is part of a private facility, with an admission fee, and draws over 800,000 visitors a year.
Vancouver Aquarium
A public aquarium located in Stanley Park. A centre for marine research, conservation and marine animal rehabilitation.
Covers approximately 9,000 square metres (97,000 sq ft) and has a total 9,500,000 litres of water in 166 aquatic displays.
Sunset Beach
Situated in the West End near the Burrard Street Bridge. Has lifeguards on duty in the warm months. Public washrooms and
concession stands are nearby. An ideal location for watching Vancouver fireworks.
Playland
An amusement park located in Hastings Park. The oldest amusement park in Canada. Every year the park will replace one or
two rides with new ones and the attendance of the park is always near capacity during the annual fair.
Stanley Park
A 1,001-acre public park that borders the downtown. Is almost entirely surrounded by waters of the Pacific Ocean. The park
is not the creation of a landscape architect, but rather the evolution of a forest and urban space over many years.
Science World

interactive exhibits and displays, as well as areas with varying topics throughout the years.
Vancouver Art Gallery

A building situated on the Burrard Inlet waterfront. It is the home of the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Pan Pacific
Vancouver Hotel, Vancouver's World Trade Centre, and FlyOver Canada. Covered by fabric roofs resembling sails.
VanDusen Botanical Garden
A public garden since opened on August 30, 1975. Covers 22 hectares (55 acres) and displays plants gathered from all over
the world. A popular site for local weddings. Located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood.
Lions Gate Bridge

Bridge. The main span alone is 473 m, the tower height is 111 m, and it has a ship's clearance of 61 m.

Late in the evening the clouds started to clear as the numbers started coming in alerting of heightened geomagnetic activity with possibility of a G1 storm from a glancing blow of solar particles. I got to Spanish Banks on the south side of Burrard Inlet hoping the city lights wouldn't drown out the Aurora event. I wasn't disappointed. It was a brilliant short event, this time-lapse is over a 240min period. For a change i wasn't standing on Otago Peninsula in 100km winds - this was 21°C and no wind, just perfect for my first Aurora Borealis.

One of the city's jewels is Stanley Park, just minutes west of downtown Vancouver. At 1,000 acres, it is larger than New York's Central Park, to which it can be compared. The road that circles the park provides spectacular views across Burrard Inlet and a seven-mile-long seawall promenade for pedestrians and cyclists offers an even more exhilarating series of seascapes.

My family and I board a DeHavilland DHC-III Turbine Otter Seaplane operated by Harbor Air of Vancouver B.C. for a spectacular sightseeing tour of Vancouver and the surrounding mountains. We start off in the airport terminal which is modern and very well maintained. All the food and beverages in the terminal was complementary to Harbor Air passengers! We then were led to our awaiting DHC-III by our friendly pilot "Caleb". He then took us past Canada Place where we then took off. We flew over the Lions-Gate Bridge and into the Burrard Inlet and then English Bay which was well occupied with oil tankers. We then flew over Kittsalano Beach and pool. At this point we were given a great view of YVR Airport before banking left again and flying over False Creek. We were given a stunning view of Mt. Baker and a nice ariel view of downtown Vancouver. We then proceeded over Second Beach and Stanley Park and then towards the mountains. For about 15 minutes we circled the mountains near Vancouver getting a little too close for comfort at times. All in all it was absolutely breathtaking! We then flew over North Vancouver and the pilot put our DHC-III in to a bit of a dramatic invert to quickly lose altitude. We then skimmed over the water of Coal Harbor and gently kissed the water. Not at all what I was expecting. I was expecting that our plane was going to grab onto the water like many commercial aircraft grab onto the runway and bring us to a hard stop, but I was pleasantly surprised! After the pilot pulled our DHC up to the dock and shut down the engines, we stood together for a photo op before my family and I proceeded to the terminal. The trip was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Harbor Air to anyone needing to travel to Victoria or who want to take a sightseeing tour of Vancouver like My family!
Flight Info:
Airline: Harbor Air
Aircraft: DeHavilland DHC-III Turbine Otter (Seaplane)
Reg: C-FHAJ
Manufactured: 2001
Seat: Somewhere in the back of the plane
Date: 7/31/14
Flight: N/A
Thanks for watching!
