Plot: A young thug white kid with a dope problem, Cort, gets released from jail and tries to get a job and stay sober. He attends a drug addiction support group where he hooks up with an old using buddy, Marty, an aggressively helpful wild-man with 30 days clean. Cort shares that he is looking for a good friend of his who he has been out of contact with since he went to jail six months ago. The two hit the road in this depressing, Wal-Mart town looking for jobs at all the retail, fast food, and department store chains every small town in America has to offer. He searches for his friend, and deals with all sorts of drama from his past.

Plot: Faith is a young woman who is on the run from an abusive boyfriend, and who settles in Atlanta to make a new life for herself. While settling down, Faith meets Lola, a free spirited young woman who lives on a nearby rural farm with her family - her distant father, older brother, and younger brother. Faith moves in with Lola, who resides in the nearby barn on the farm, to help out with farm work. Every night, the two young women go into the city to party, and Lola brings home a different man to be with. But when the men start disappearing, Faith begins to suspect that Lola's family is killing the strangers in the nearby slaughter house they keep on the farm, and her quest for the truth uncovers some very disturbing facts about Lola's childhood that she seeks to keep a secret at ANY cost.

Plot: Ellen, an unknown female gunslinger rides into a small, dingy and depressing prairie town with a secret as to her reason for showing up. The pot is a huge sum of money and the only rule: that you follow the rules of the man that set up the contest, Herod. Herod is also the owner, leader, and "ruler" of the town. Seems he's arranged this little gun-show-off so that the preacher (who use to be an outlaw and rode with Herod) will have to fight again. Cort refuses to ever use a gun to kill again and Herod, acknowledging Cort as one of the best, is determined to alter this line of thinking ... even if it gets someone killed ...
