Clemens (died 16 AD) was an impostor in ancient Rome.

Biography

He was a former slave of Agrippa Postumus, the grandson of Augustus, who was killed around the time Tiberius came to power. Clemens appeared claiming that he really was Postumus, and gained a significant band of followers, but was captured and executed by Tiberius. It is reputed that when he was brought before Tiberius, he was asked "How did you become Agrippa?" and he replied "The same way you became Caesar".

'The same year a certain Clemens, who had been a slave of Agrippa and resembled him to a certain extent, pretended to be Agrippa himself. He went to Gaul and won many to his cause there and many later in Italy, and finally he marched upon Rome with the avowed intention of recovering the dominion of his grandfather. The population of the city became excited at this, and not a few joined his cause; but Tiberius got him into his hands by a ruse with the aid of some persons who pretended to sympathize with this upstart. He thereupon tortured him, in order to learn something about his fellow-conspirators. Then, when the other would not utter a word, he asked him: "How did you come to be Agrippa?" Clemens (rapper)

Clemens Legolas Telling better known as Clemens and MC Clemens (born October 8, 1979 in Roskilde, Denmark) is a Danish rapper, singer, music writer, actor.

Clemens started as a DJ in 1989 and was known as MC Clemens winning many freestyle prizes in Denmark. In 1997 he had his debut album release Regnskabets Time with commercial success followed up in 1999 with Den Anden Verden. This album won him a Grammy for Best Hip Hop Album and a grant from the Arts Foundation. The same year he collaborated with Swedish rapper Petter and they both toured Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. In 2001, he released Professionel Bla Bla that won him Best Hip Hop Hit by the P3 station. In 2006 he toured Japan with over 40 shows. He enjoyed a comeback in 2010 with a #1 hit "Champion" on the Tracklisten, the official Danish Singles Chart. credited to Clemens featuring Jon Nørgaard

Clemens has also written the lyrics of many theatrical acts, including a breakdance version of Nøddeknækkeren (The Nutcracker) that was played every year from 2004 to 2008. Clemens also wrote all the lyrics for the musical Matador in 2007, an opera directed by Peter Langdal and most of the lyrics for the piece 69 in 2008 directed by Niclas Bendixen. Matador musical was released on DVD in late 2008 and Nøddeknækkeren (The Nutcracker) in late 2009.

Dickey Lee

Royden Dickey Lipscomb (born September 21, 1936), known professionally as Dickey Lee (sometimes misspelled Dickie Lee or Dicky Lee), is an American pop/country singer and songwriter, best known for the 1960s teenage tragedy songs "Patches" and "Laurie (Strange Things Happen)."

Career

Lee made his first recordings in his hometown of Memphis for Tampa Records and Sun Records in 1957–58. He achieved his first chart success in 1962, when his composition "She Thinks I Still Care" was a hit for George Jones (covered by Elvis Presley, Connie Francis, Leon Russell and later Anne Murray as "He Thinks I Still Care"). Later that year, "Patches," written by Barry Mann and Larry Kobler and recorded by Lee for Smash Records, rose to No. 6. The song tells in waltz-time the story of teenage lovers of different social classes whose parents forbid their love. The girl drowns herself in the "dirty old river." The singer concludes: "It may not be right, but I'll join you tonight/ Patches I'm coming to you." Because of the teen suicide theme, the song was banned by a number of radio stations. However, it sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.

Laurie is an EP by singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston. It was his second release with Seminal Twang in the United Kingdom.

Johnston was gaining popularity at the time and was soon to be picked up by his first major label, Atlantic Records, for the 1994 album Fun. Meanwhile, he had various minor releases, including an earlier EP released by Seminal Twang called Big Big World.

Matt Hartenbach, who wrote the track "Whiz Kid", approached Johnston to record the vocals.
