Enter Jeffie: an inflammatory individual who fancies himself a scholar, a poet, and the embodiment of enlightened living. At first, the couple's travel companion seems to have responded randomly to their ad, but as the trip progresses, it becomes clear that Jeffie's presence relates to a web of tightly-held secrets between Alan and Amanda. In HuggaLand, she learns that eating the fruit of the young berry tree can give instant youth. Unfortunately, the only young berry tree grows in the Country/Land of Shrugs. So... They just put 'em in a field, let 'em eat and enjoy their life, until they grow old and die.::Bridget Severson: You mean they're moving Grams out? But they can't! She's family! She loves us! Why would they do that?::Andrew Severson: What do you want from me? I'm just a kid.::Bridget Severson: But that's not right! We've got to do something!::Andrew Severson: Send a telegram to your Congressman. Or, better yet, why don't you tell your magic mirror friends?
Bridget Severson: She's your grandmother, too. This is a criseris.::Andrew Severson: Crisis, dummy.::Bridget Severson: Crisis. Whatever. You sit there shoving Spice Nuggets in your face like nothing's happening! How can you? You don't show Grams any affection! You don't love anybody but yourself and your dumb old computer. You don't care!
Bridget Severson: [after stepping through the mirror into Hugga Land] Oops! Lost a shoe!::Huggins: Don't need shoes here. Everything is soft and fuzzy.
Bridget Severson: What an adorable baby elephant!::Hodge Podge the Elephant: I'm an elephant! I never knew that!::Bridget Severson: Of course you're an elephant! What'd you think you were?::Hodge Podge the Elephant: We'll that mean old Queen of Courts said I was a leather footstool, before I fainted.::Bridget Severson: I've never heard of a fainting elephant! [chuckles good-naturedly]::Hodge Podge the Elephant: You're talking to one. I faint when I get scared. My name is Hodge Podge.::Bridget Severson: How do you do, Hodge Podge. Queen Admira: Feel free to compliment me.::Bridget Severson: You're not bad looking for a wicked witch. But the ones in my storybooks have wrinkles and warts!
Bridget Severson: My mother told me not to say thank you when people say I have a pretty face. You're just born with it, that you have is luck.
Hodge Podge the Elephant: I must have fainted. Where are we?::Hugsy: We're in the dungeon.::Hodge Podge the Elephant: Are we having fun?::Hugsy: Fun? We're prisoners, that's what we are!::Hodge Podge the Elephant: What's a prisoner? I forget?::Huggins: We're locked in and we can't get out.::Hodge Podge the Elephant: You want to get out? Why don't we just get out?::Hugsy: The door is locked shut, Hodge Podge!::Hodge Podge the Elephant: Oh!::Hugsy: Use your noodle!::Hodge Podge the Elephant: Oh, is THAT what this thing is! My noodle! [takes hold of the prison's bars with his trunk and breaks them all free]
Hodge Podge the Elephant: I forget...::Bridget Severson: I thought an elephant never forgot anything!::Hodge Podge the Elephant: I have a bad memory, but now I remember!
Bridget Severson: [after losing the magic young berries] It's too late! I've ruined everything!::Huggins: There, there. Dumb old stuff, it probably wouldn't have worked, anyway.::Bridget Severson: It would have! I know it would have!::Hugsy: Well, I never believed in it. Being old, or being young, isn't what's important.::Huggins: Remember what the Bookworm told you? Affection, hugging, and being needed. That's better than any old magic berries any time.

Bookworm Adventures in 1:53:09 [FWR]
I've now played a faster run here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYGIAiaX1zw
This is copied over from my stream, which is why there's some audio desync. This is my third run of this game to reach completion, the first being 2:41 and the second being a 2:13. I predicted that 2:05ish would be my limit, but then this run happened. Another 10-15 minutes can come off this run, but I got a sub-2, even sub-1:55 run, and I'm happy with it.
Thanks to everyone who watched this live, including SSBMstuff, SolarBowler and Cipherbeat.
I still can't believe I actually did this O_O

Bookworm Adventures Arena Mode speedrun (7:55) [WR]
I did it. I beat my time from just over 2 years ago, and by 51 seconds! I usually have
Mysterious Assassin down about 30 seconds faster than this, though, so I'm going to keep going for sub 7:30. But for now, FINALLY a good quality recording on an
Arena Mode record! (accidentally forgot to mute my mic, but that's relatively minor.
Enjoy my sparse talking to myself commentary!)
Also worth noting: I recovered my lost save file for the no potion run, so
I'll be able to work on finishing that up.

The award-winning international phenomenon THE X FACTOR is back. In
Season Three of the hit competition series hosted by
Mario Lopez, THE X FACTOR judges will travel the nation searching for talent 12 years old or over -- both solo artists and vocal groups -- who are willing to brave the panel for a chance to make their dreams of becoming a superstar come true.
Auditions for THE X FACTOR were held this spring in
Los Angeles, CA;
Charleston, SC;
New Orleans, LA;
Long Island, NY; and
Denver, CO.
Contestants will audition in front of THE X FACTOR judges, including
Simon Cowell,
Demi Lovato,
Kelly Rowland,
Paulina Rubio, and an audience of thousands. This will be the ultimate test to prove they have the vocal ability, charisma and stage presence it takes to become a global superstar or breakout music act and win a recording contract with
Syco/
Sony Music.
Those contestants who survive the first auditions will be divided into four categories:
Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups. Each category will be mentored by one of the show's judges. Not only is it a competition between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it's also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate the competition and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to
America to decide who ultimately has THE X FACTOR.

Auditions for THE X FACTOR were held this spring in
Los Angeles, CA;
Charleston, SC;
New Orleans, LA;

Splits:
Time of this run (split length) Compared to 8:46 (split length compared to 8:46)

Bookworm Adventures 2 - Awesome words: Part 3 - includes ending
Music:
Kevin MacLeod - New
Friendly, DJ Harmonics -
My Heaven, DJ Harmonics - Parasonic.
I spell words at least 10 letters long in this video.
Note that I did NOT cheat with a word finder or any sort of hack.
The final word is 7 letters long, though, but it was the final word, as this also includes the ending
...
List of words:
1. Reprimanded (11 letters long)
2. Distributing (12 letters long)
3. Impersonator (12 letters long)
4. Factorials (10 letters long)
5. Questioners (11 letters long)
6. Underachieved (13 letters long)
7. Reclaiming (10 letters long)
8.
Interviews (10 letters long)
9. Destinating (11 letters long)
10. Compensate (10 letters long)
11. Excavating (10 letters long)
12.
Quadruplet (10 letters long)
13. Questioned (10 letters long)
14. Mountainous (11 letters long)
15. Refreshing (10 letters long)
16. Annihilated (11 letters long)
17.
Unreachable (11 letters long)
18. Ventilated (10 letters long)
19. Intermediate (12 letters long)
20. Ingloriously (12 letters long)
21. Appearance (10 letters long)
22. Factorable (10 letters long)
23. Exaggerated (11 letters long)
24. Alliterates (11 letters long)
25. Directional (11 letters long)
26. Invertebral (11 letters long)
27. Conversable (11 letters long)
28. Deceptions (10 letters long)
29. Recreationally (14 letters long)
30. Advertised (10 letters long)
31. Combustion (10 letters long)
32. Quadrupled (10 letters long)
Hints on spelling long words:
1.
Rainbow/
Wildcard tiles: Those help A
LOT. Why? It lets you choose whatever you want. That is why you try to get an
Amethyst,
Emerald, and Garnet tile by spelling 5, 6, and 7-letter-words.
2. If you are missing a word, save the words that you currently have to be able to make a long word and don't use those. Use the words that you don't need to try to hope for the word you need to make a long word.
3. Prefixes and suffixes:
Try looking for suffixes "tion", "able", "
ing", and any other common ones. For prefixes, I like "under" the best, but "re", "un", "mis", and others may help. They make your word longer. In addition, plurals are allowed (both "dog" and "dogs" are allowed).
4.
Scramble:
Best with a wildcard, scramble to hope for better letters to make long words. Try using the Mad Hat or
Time Helmet treasure for optimal benefit.
Notes:
1. If you spell long words, your average word length will go up. If that happens, enemies inflict more damage.
2. The best treasures in my opinion are the
Looking Glass (ailments (i.e.
Poison,
Bleed, and
Burn), as well as tile effects (i.e. Tile
Smash, Tile
Lock,
Warp Tile, and
Plague Tile) last one less turn.
Believe me, but this helps a LOT. Some treasures may be better on certain circumstances than others. If there are lots of stun attacks, then
Just Right Porridge is a MUST. If lots of tile smash and/or tile lock, use the Tao of Lex or
Enlightenment. Collapsible
Iron Rod/Gumdrop Necklace is nice to magnify gem boosts, and Bovine Boosters/
Impossible Engine helps with causing more damage, especially good for beginner players who spell 3 and 4-letter-words.
The Mad Hat/Time Helmet is good if you scramble a lot.
Tasty Breakfast BTW actually does NOTHING (I think!).
3. The best companion in my opinion is
H.G. Wells, because he will heal you (but not the tiles). The best thing is that you are immune to the opponent's next attack on the next turn. I also like the
Legendary Master, because he stuns the opponent for 2 turns and powers you up.
The Monkey King is the most effective in Iron form, because you resist heaps of damage.
The other forms, are, meh, but I think this one is almost as good as the Legendary Master. The Chesire
Cats heals you AND the grid, but I think H.G. Wells is better. Skeletrox upgrades 2 tiles, meaning Amethyst to Emerald,
Crystal to
Diamond, or something else. He is about as good as the Chesire Cat or
Monkey King.
Mother Goose is
IMO not too useful...
4. If you spell long words, you get gem tiles. Some gem tiles are better than others, depending on the time. Garnet tiles are good if the opponent inflicts a lot of damage, and emerald tiles have the same effect as a healing potion, healing health, which is great when you are running low in health.
