Patricia /pəˈtrɪʃə/ is a common female given name of Latin origin. Derived from the Latin word patrician, meaning "noble", the masculine form of the name is Patrick. The name Patricia was the second most common female name in the United States according to the 1990 US Census.
It is commonly shortened to 'Pat', 'Pati/Paty', 'Patsy', Patti/Pattie', 'Trish' or 'Trisha/Tricia'. These diminutives are sometimes used as names in their own right. Another well-known variant of this is 'Patrice'.
According to the US Social Security Administration records, the use of the name for newborns peaked at #3 from 1937 to 1943 in the USA, after which it dropped in popularity, reaching a low of #442 in 2007. From 1928 to 1967, the name was ranked among the top #11 female names.
In Portuguese and Spanish-speaking countries, the name Patricia is common as well, pronounced [paˈtrisja], while in Italy Patrizia is the form, pronounced [paˈtriːtsja]. In Polish, the variant is Patrycja.
Breathless may refer to:
Jean Dorothy Seberg (November 13, 1938 – August 30, 1979) was an American actress. She starred in 34 films in Hollywood and in Europe, including Saint Joan, "Bonjour Tristesse", Breathless, Lilith, Moment to Moment, A Fine Madness, Paint Your Wagon, Airport, Macho Callahan, and Gang War in Naples.
Seberg is also one of the best-known targets of the FBI COINTELPRO project. Her victimization was rendered as a well-documented retaliation for her support of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s.
Jean Seberg died at the age of 40 of a barbiturate overdose in Paris. Her death was ruled a suicide.
Jean Seberg was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Dorothy Arline (née Benson), a substitute teacher, and Edward Waldemar Seberg, a pharmacist. Her family was Lutheran and of Swedish, English, and German ancestry. Her paternal grandfather, Edward Carlson, arrived in the U.S. in 1882 and observed, "there are too many Carlsons in the New World". He decided to change the family's last name to Seberg in memory of the water and mountains of Sweden. Jean had a sister Mary-Ann, a brother Kurt, and a brother David, who was killed in a car accident in 1968.
Jean-Luc Godard (French: [ʒɑ̃lyk ɡɔdaʁ]; born 3 December 1930) is a French-Swiss film director, screenwriter and film critic. He is often identified with the 1960s French film movement La Nouvelle Vague, or "New Wave".
Like his New Wave contemporaries, Godard criticized mainstream French cinema's "Tradition of Quality", which "emphasized craft over innovation, privileged established directors over new directors, and preferred the great works of the past to experimentation." To challenge this tradition, he and like-minded critics started to make their own films. Many of Godard's films challenge the conventions of traditional Hollywood in addition to French cinema. He is often considered the most radical French filmmaker of the 1960s and 1970s; his approach in film conventions, politics and philosophies made him arguably the most influential director of the French New Wave. Along with showing knowledge of film history through homages and references, several of his films expressed his political views; he was an avid reader of existential and Marxist philosophy.
French (le français [lə fʁɑ̃sɛ] or la langue française [la lɑ̃ɡ fʁɑ̃sɛz]) is a Romance language, belonging to the Indo-European family. It descended from the spoken Latin language of the Roman Empire, as did languages such as Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Catalan and others. French has evolved from Gallo-Romance, the spoken Latin in Gaul, and more specifically in Northern Gaul. Its closest relatives are the other langues d'oïl—languages historically spoken in northern France and in southern Belgium, which French (Francien) has largely supplanted. French was also influenced by native Celtic languages of Northern Roman Gaul like Gallia Belgica and by the (Germanic) Frankish language of the post-Roman Frankish invaders. Today, owing to France's past overseas expansion, there are numerous French-based creole languages, most notably Haitian Creole. A French-speaking person or nation may be referred to as Francophone in both English and French.
French is the official language in 29 countries, most of which are members of la francophonie, the community of French-speaking countries. It is spoken as a first language in France, southern Belgium, western Switzerland, Monaco, certain parts of Canada and the United States, and by various communities elsewhere. As of 2015, 40% of the francophone population (including L2 and partial speakers) is in Europe, 35% in sub-Saharan Africa, 15% in North Africa and the Middle East, 8% in the Americas, and 1% in Asia and Oceania.

This video also shows camera tracking. The protagonist, Michel Poiccard / Laszlo Kovacs (aliases) is a minor criminal, who becomes a major criminal when he kills a cop. In this scene, the police have caught up with him, and shoot him in the back. He runs down the street, then collapses. At the end of the scene, Patricia Franchini (Jean Seberg) surveys her friend and lover, then brings her gaze up, and looks directly into the camera, then mimics a movement frequently made by Michel, who in turn took it from his film idol, Humphrey Bogart. Also notice the almost complete absence of sound from the time the camera first focuses on Patricia's face, and earlier, how Michel expels his nearly last breath of cigarette smoke as he nears his death. Coolness personified...

Michel Poiccard, an irresponsible sociopath and small-time thief, steals a car and impulsively murders the motorcycle policeman who pursues him. Now wanted by the authorities, he renews his relationship with Patricia Franchini, a hip American girl studying journalism at the Sorbonne, whom he had met in Nice a few weeks earlier. Before leaving Paris, he plans to collect a debt from an underworld acquaintance and expects her to accompany him on his planned getaway to Italy. Even with his face in the local papers and media, Poiccard seems oblivious to the dragnet that is slowly closing around him as he recklessly pursues his love of American movies and libidinous interest in the beautiful American.

Breathless (French: À bout de souffle; "out of breath") is a 1960 French film written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard about a wandering criminal (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and his American girlfriend (Jean Seberg). It was Godard's first feature-length work and represented Belmondo's breakthrough as an actor. Breathless was one of the earliest, most influential examples of French New Wave (nouvelle vague) cinema. Together with François Truffaut's The 400 Blows and Alain Resnais's Hiroshima, Mon Amour, both released a year earlier, it brought international acclaim to this new style of French filmmaking. At the time, the film attracted much attention for its bold visual style, which included unconventional use of jump cuts. A fully restored version of the film was released in the U.S. for its 50t...

PSYCHO No one celebrates Halloween like Alfred Hitchcock, especially with his masterpiece of the macabre PSYCHO (1960). Brilliantly shot, edited and with a classic score by Bernard Herrmann, Anthony Perkins in the role of his career brings to iconic life a lonely motel clerk named Norman Bates. With solid support from Vera Miles, John Gavin, John McIntire, Patricia Hitchcock and in an Oscar nominated turn, Janet Leigh, a web of suspicion and suspense is slowly woven leading to a climax that will leave you breathless. No one who has ever seen PSYCHO ever forgets it. Neither will you. Happy Halloween from The Tired Old Queen at the Movies! BREATHLESS~À bout de souffle ~1960~The first feature film directed by Jean-Luc Godard and one of the seminal films of the French New Wave, Breathless is story of the love between Michel Poiccard, Jean-Paul Belmondo, a small-time hood wanted for killing a cop, and Patricia Franchini, Jean Seberg, an American who sells the International Herald Tribune along the boulevards of Paris. Their relationship develops as Michel hides out from a dragnet. Breathless uses the famous techniques of the French New Wave: location shooting, improvised dialogue, and a loose narrative form. In addition Godard uses his characteristic jump cuts, deliberate "mismatches" between shots, and references to the history of cinema, art, and music. Much of the film's vigor comes from collisions between popular and high c...
