The London Borough of Tower Hamlets ( pronunciation ) is a London borough to the east of the City of London and north of the River Thames. It is in the eastern part of London and covers much of the traditional East End. It also includes much of the redeveloped Docklands region of London, including West India Docks and Canary Wharf. Many of the tallest buildings in London occupy the centre of the Isle of Dogs in the south of the borough. A part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is in Tower Hamlets. The borough has a population of 272,890, which includes one of the highest ethnic minority populations in the capital and has an established British Bangladeshis business and residential community. Brick Lane's restaurants, neighbouring street market and shops provide the largest range of Bengali cuisine, woodwork, carpets and clothes in Europe. The local authority is Tower Hamlets London Borough Council.
Tower Hamlets is located to east of the City of London and north of the River Thames in East London. The London Borough of Hackney lies to the north of the borough while the River Lea forms the boundary with the London Borough of Newham in the east. On the other side of the Thames is The London Borough of Southwark to the southwest, The London Borough of Lewisham to the South, and The Royal Borough of Greenwich to the southeast. The River Lea also forms the boundary between those parts of London historically in Middlesex, with those formerly in Essex.

ITV News London is looking at housing in the capital. On Monday, Rightmove said the average cost of a home in London is now £522K and an ITV News poll revealed 4 in 10 Londoners have thought about leaving because of the cost of living. Figures from Rightmove show buying a house or flat here is nearly double the cost of buying anywhere else in the country. In the first of our special reports Luke Hanaharan has been to the place where house prices have risen most in the whole of the UK - a whopping 33 percent. It's Tower Hamlets. A place where some say it is simply impossible to buy. ITV London examine housing: a capital crisis. Disclaimer (I don't own this, Uploaded this content for educational purposes)
The EDL demonstration was a march from Tower Bridge to Aldgate, though it was originally intended to go further into Tower Hamlets. A counter-demonstration was arranged by UAF with the Islamic Forum Europe and Tower Hamlets Council workers and was based in Altab-Ali Park in Whitechapel. The mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman, opposed the march but failed to ban it completely. This video shows the EDL marching over Tower Bridge and up The Minories and also shows good footage of UAF, communists, anarchists and Muslims clashing with the police on Mansell Street. I also caught some of the speech by EDL leader Tommy Robinson who talked about Tower Hamlets council and the war in Libya. He was later detained by police for "incitement". I interviewed a few anti-EDL demonstrators; socialists, ...
Officers had been dealing with a routine traffic stop on August 4th 2016 when the situation quickly turned violent. The officers quickly became vulnerable as they were surrounded by a larger group of young lads in Shadwell, Tower hamlets London. The cops handled the situation very well. It is amazing they weren’t injured during this arrest.
Bunch of men who cant fight
Nearly everyone is aware of the increasing danger of knife crime across the country but Tower Hamlets Council wanted to speak especially to the youth of the borough to highlight the danger with an arresting new ad. By carrying a knife young people are actually putting themselves at risk, whether as part of gang culture or as self defence. Research has shown that knife carriers are more likely to be wounded by their own blades because the knife is likely to be turned on them. The film, created by Sonny Adorjan and Milo Campbell and directed by Kevin Thomas, shows a young man being chased through the busy city streets of London by an assailant. There are glimpses of the assailant as he gets closer to his victim and when the chase finally ends in a residential street with t...

To whom it may concern Thank you very much for wacthing this video and my apologises regarding the video not being in English. the temporary housing placement of 72 year old Khadidja Brikci Nigassa in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. She was placed in the privately owned property by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Khadidja was told that she would be at the property for no longer than 52 days, however, she's been there for more than 90 days. Furthermore, Khadidja is disabled and lives with two of her grandchildren who are both under the age of eight, along with their mother (Khadidja’s daughter). As you could see from the video, the property is in a poor state and requires a lot of work to be done. A few weeks ago somebody from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea ...

John Biggs, Mayor of the London borough of Tower Hamlets, joined a protest today outside the controversial Jack the Ripper museum in Cable Street, east London. "The museum is a form of pornographic violence celebration and we do not want it here.," said Biggs. "There are standards in our community and they are very important and we must uphold them.” The directly elected Mayor was critical of law saying that "it is deficient in that it allows something to be defined as a museum then it allows it to transform itself into something which is not a museum which is really a visitor attraction which glorifies something which is unacceptable."
