Around us in different areas of world we see different types of mountains. Mountains are not present every there but where they are present they are of different , sizes , colors , textures and chemical compositions. Below mentioned is the list of Top 10 Highest Mountains in the World. Let's have a look on them. 10.Annapurna: Annapurna is situated in Nepal this mountain series is basically a part of Himalayas in North Central Nepal .Its average height is 8091 m (26545ft).Annapurna is literally a Sanskrit word which means "Full of Food" or according to the Hinduism belief "Goddess of the Harvest" they believe it is a mother who use to believe that in the absence of this mountain range there will be starvation in the world as it is responsible for feeding world. 9.Nanga Parbat: Literally it mean "naked mountains".Nanaga parbat is the ninth highest peak of the world and it is present in the Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan. Its trivial name is "Deo Mir". It is 8126 meters high from sea level and there are immense dramatic rise & fall in its peaks that's the reason it is notorious for its deadly difficult climbing . It was first accented in 1953. 8. Manaslu: Manaslu is situated in Nepal its trivial name is Kutang .I ts exact location is in Mansiri Himal with is a series of Nepalese Himalayas in the west of Nepal. It was first assented in 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu . Height of Manaslu is 8156 meters (26759ft).Its highest most peak is in the Lamjung District which is about 40 miles East of Annapurna. 7.Dhaulagiri: This mountain is about 8167 meters or in other words 26795 ft and it is at number seven in Top 10 Highest Mountains in the World list. It was for the first time assented on 13th May 1960 by the Austrian , Nepali & Swiss expedition.The word "dhaulagiri" is also the word of Sanskrit which means dazzling white beautiful.It is the highest mountain of the range of River Basin. 6.Chooyo: Height of the Cho oyu peak is 8201 m (26906ft) . Literal meaning of cho oyu is "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan.This is present on the western side of Khumbu sub section of tbetan and this mountain physically separates Khumbu & Rolwaling Himalayas. 5. Makalu: It is ranked at fifth position in Top 10 Highest Mountains in the World list. its height is 8463 meter(27766ft).It is situated in Mahalangur Himalaya 19km right on the Southeast of Mount Everest on the border present in between China and Nepal.In Chinese it is known as "Makaru".One of the important significance that its shape is quite pyramidal.It was first accented on 1954. 4.Lhotse: Lhotse is very famous mountain peak which is also connected to the Everest through the South Col.The word Lhotse means "South Peak" in Tibean.Its average height is 8516 meters (27940 ft) above the level of sea.As far as its exact location is concerned it is present in between the border of Tibet(China) and the Khumbu region of Nepal. 3. Kangchenjunga: Kangchenjunga peaks are the 8598 meters high and it is ranked at number 3rd position in Top 10 Highest Mountains in the World list. It is the higher most peak present in India .It is famous for its high five peaks and it is also worshiped by the people of Darjeeling & Sikkim.It is present between the border of Indian State Sikkim and Nepal. 2.K2: K2 is well known mountain peak present in Pakistan.It has different names like Kechu, Qogir & Mount Godwin Austen.I is located in between Baltistan Pakistan and Xinchange China.It has a peak elevation of about 8611 m(28251feet).It is the highest peak of Pakistan and Karakorum Range.It is also known as Savage Mountain as it is difficult to climb and is on second number because of its fatality rate.As uptil now 8000 people died who tried to climb on it and it is nearly impossible to climb on it in winter. 1.Mount Everest: Mount Everest is the world highest mountain peak.Its has different names in different languages like Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibet.It is present in the Mahalangur section of Himalayas.It is 8848 meters (29029ft).It is situated near to the Lhotse peaks in between the borders of Nepal and China.
