The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. Ranging from quintet to septet, the band was known for its unique and eclectic style, which fused elements of country, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, rock, improvisational jazz, psychedelia, space rock, for live performances of lengthy instrumental jams, and for their devoted fan base, known as "Deadheads". "Their music," writes Lenny Kaye, "touches on ground that most other groups don't even know exists." These various influences were distilled into a diverse and psychedelic whole that made the Grateful Dead "the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world". The band was ranked 57th in the issue The Greatest Artists of all Time by Rolling Stone magazine. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and their Barton Hall Concert at Cornell University (May 8, 1977) was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry. The Grateful Dead have sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.
"Rocket Queen" is a song by the American rock band Guns N' Roses, featured on their debut studio album, Appetite for Destruction (1987).
Slash stated in his autobiography that he and Duff McKagan wrote the main riff to "Rocket Queen" when they first got together in the short-lived band Road Crew with Steven Adler, prior to Slash and Adler joining Hollywood Rose.
According to frontman W. Axl Rose:
A credit in the booklet for Appetite for Destruction reads "Barbi (Rocket Queen) Von Greif", implying that she was "this girl" Rose mentions in the quote. Slash states that, while Von Grief was only eighteen at the time, she had a notorious reputation and was "a queen of the underground scene back then. She'd eventually become a madam, but Axl was infatuated with her at the time." She was also mentioned in the acknowledgments section of L.A. Guns' self-titled debut album.
In an October 1991 interview in Guitar Player magazine, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers said Axl Rose told the Chili Peppers that Guns 'N Roses had the Chili Peppers in mind when they did Rocket Queen.
7/29/98 Riverport Amphitheater, Maryland Heights, MO. This is widely considering some of the band's best playing. Clocking in at 24 minutes, this jam is so phenomenal, in fact, that people have suggested that they rehearsed this exact version, obviously differing from the improve playing that they are known for. Although there is another version of this song on youtube, that one is cut short; you can hear the whole piece here, from beginning to end.

A LoloYodel 2 camera/angle video mix (with my usual thanks and immense gratitude). I did NOT remix the entire show (only songs, segments which I found best). To see all, go to my Channel & "Playlist". AUDIO : I added this (an excellent) Master Audience recorded by Mr. Darby using AKG 451EB/CK1's mics ~ Sony TC-D5M deck ... VIDEO ONE : "Mrmojoinco", a very well filmed video, front of stage, slightly to the left and probably from the nose-bleed seats. Possibly/probably taped by "mrmojoinco", straight from the Hi-8 master transferred in 2015. The quality is sincerely (as usual), very, very good ! Stable, honest and clean ! Congrat's & thanks ! I decreased the color saturation for better color integration with Video Two. VIDEO TWO : "Voodoonola", otherwise unsigned ... The quality is very...
