A driver's Eye View of the Swanage Branch early in 2009. The Swanage Railway are connected to the national network at Motala, although the track needs much upgrading before regular passenger services recommence. In this video you will see the various stages that have to currently be gone through to come of the National Network at Worgret Jct before proceeding down the stub to Motala, the official boundary, then onto Norden where I was on crossing duty protecting the ungated crossing. After getting onto the Swanage Railway proper the journey through to Swanage is straight forward with two 'single line tablet' exchanges at Corfe Castle (where we pass the Swanage Railway class 117 unit) and Harmans Cross before arriving at Swanage where we see M7 30053 waiting to depart with a service train f...

Well, It was the week of lorettas and all the class riders were home not knowing what to do so they went to wareham to where it started pooring. There was couple fast b riders there but other than that a bunch of people just trying to have some fun. Just riding and enjoying the track. Everybody's favorite track worker Gary was there given us all the details about the weather. Overall fun weekend at wareham mx and definitely a track to look at.
Following a partial closure of the line, the Swanage Railway were running a special timetable with DMU services 'Over the Road' between Corfe Castle and the River Frome bridge, within sight of Wareham. The closure, in effect between Swanage and Harmans Cross, follows the filming of a feature film set in the Wartime. The 'Over the Road' services, rostered with Class 108 DMU M54504+M51933, see trains run as far as the River Frome bridge - the current limit of Swanage metals - just outside Wareham. Services start from Corfe Castle and pass through the usual limit of the line at Norden. Normal timetable resumes as of Wednesday the 27th of July. Thank you very much to the driver, Steve, and Andy for allowing me the Cab-Ride, and the permission to film the trip. All footage filmed on Tuesda...
