Maria Esperanza Prayer Merciful Father, You blessed Maria Esperanza with an abundance of spiritual gifts for the consolation of your people. She served You as wife, mother, and missionary to promote the unity of the family and the reconciliation of all peoples. You enabled her to be the central figure in the manifestations of the Virgin Mary, under the title of Reconciler of all Peoples and Nations, in Betania. Grant us the grace to follow her example of humility, hope, and unconditional love. Through the intercession of your servant, Marie Esperanza, we pray for the healing and reconciliation of our families, and for the fraternal unity of the entire human family. Especially, we beseech You to grant us the favors we now request (mention your intensions here) through the merits and prayers of your servant. Likewise, we humbly implore that she be inscribed in the Church's catalogue of saints, as a universal model of the beatitudes. We Pray all this according to your holy will, cherished by your servant until the end, through Jesus Christ, your Son Our Lord. Amen. Maria Esperanza was world-renowned for many miraculous happenings including stigmata, healing, bilocation and over thirty apparitions of Our Lady. Her mission was to help all the nations of the world to discover the secret of family unity, reconciliation and love. On March 25, 1984, over 108 people witnessed seeing the Blessed Mother, along with Maria, at the grotto site in Betania, Venezuela. The local Bishop approved the authenticity of Maria's experiences in 1987, and on January 31, 2010, the Vatican officially opened her cause for canonization. Her family traveled to the United States for the official opening of her cause for sainthood and celebrated with performances of the Betania Choir. Born on St. Cecilia's Feast day, patron saint of music, Maria encouraged her family to find joyoussly with all their love with the promise that their voices of praise would reveal the essence of the family they are. The Betania Choir spreads the message of hope, love, reconciliation and peace with their singing. Maria knew well that music has boundless powers for moving families toward greater spirituality and devotion to the gospel.
